All right, simple question...

So on gravestones you can customize the epitaph, right? You can instruct it to read "Here lies Random Sim, somewhat missed"...Pretty common knowledge.

When I was skimming through the items in World Adventures I came across a cute wooden sign and I got thinking "Is it possible to take the command that allowing us to customize what the epitaph says and apply it to an item such as a sign?"

Imagine that? Real working signs! But my real question is, is this even possible? And if so, how to go about doing it?

If I could get some feedback, that would be greatly appreciated!

World Adventures? You know that this is a Sims 2 forum, right?

Yes, it's possible, with a custom script. That's as far as my knowledge extends. ;)

What about the wall signs in the tomb menu? Could you borrow those and add the epitaph function to them?

That's what I was going to say. You can just clone this item or add the script class from it to your new item.
