Hello!
I posted this on the AnyGameStarter thread around the end of June, and still have not gotten any help, but I guess that was predictable seeing as the program is unsupported.

Hello~ Thank you very much for the AGS! It's really cool. Sadly though, I have a problem... My purpose for downloading the AGS was to create a game without Seasons, as to customize my CAS screen. So, I created an AnyGame1 with University, Nightlife, OFB, Pets, Bon Voyage, and Apartment Life. The only EP I don't own is Freetime. That worked great, and I finished my CAS screen, but when I went to open my 'Full Game', the icons on the launcher said that I don't have Uni, Teen Style Stuff, or IKEA Home stuff installed, even though I do. Instead of opening the Uni Collection like it usually would, it'd open Apartment Life. And when I put in the Uni Collection disc, its says the packs are already installed. All my files are still there in My Documents, I just don't get why my full game won't open with them. I tried starting up the installer and restarting my computer, and that did not work. I have all my discs, none of the packs were bought from the site. Please help ^^" Thank you~
I run Windows, and have all the physical discs for my expansion packs.
Yes, I know that the AGS shouldn't have been used with other editions other than the EPS and Store Edition, Deluxe, Double Deluxe and Holiday Ed. now
Yeah, I'm stupid. *failed to notice that important info beforehand*

My full game does not seem to recognize the existence of my University Life Collection, and I'd really like to avoid uninstalling/reinstalling. I keep finding posts that tell about problems with reinstalling collections :/

Please help >_<"

Unfortunately, the AGS does not support collection packs, except for the ones listed in the main download thread. The University Life Collection is not supported and will not work, as you've seen. I am petitioning the moderators to increase the warnings for the AGS:

If you don't want to uninstall and reinstall everything, I may be able to help you to get your game running again. Please zip and attach the entire AnyGameStarter\AppFiles folder. I may need additional information once I've looked at the files.

Oh, thank you so much! I'll support you in your effort to increase the warnings ^_^

Here's what I did:

Open Sims2_Full.reg.
Add to EPsInstalled in the correct location (EPs and SPs have to be in the correct order and with the correct number of commas between them):
Sims2EP1.exe (University)
Sims2SP5.exe (Teen Style Stuff)
Sims2EP7.exe (Ikea Home Stuff)

As far as I can tell, that's the only thing that's wrong.

Try double clicking on my new version of Sims2_Full.reg to add the correct entries to your registry, then try running your full game again. Please let me know what happens.

Now, those EPs are colored in the launcher, but Freetime is too O.o And when I launch the game, it says to insert the Apartment Life disc. And then, when I did that, all my neighborhoods seem to be gone o_o

Oops. Looks like I may have added EP7 instead of SP7. Let me fix that.

Which disk do you usually require? Or, are you usually able to run without any disk at all?

I usually require the University Life Collection disc

I probably can't help you, then, since there's obviously something needed which is no longer in your registry. I don't have any of the collections, so I'm not sure what registry entries are required.

Sorry.

I don't suppose that you have a restore point available just before you installed the AGS?

Ah, no, I don't have a restore point available ^^"
I'm still really grateful that you even tried though, so thank you very much~! Maybe I'll try reinstalling someday~

edit: 7/26/2011
I've uninstalled/reinstalled everything, and my game works again now ^_^ I did encounter problems with uninstalling University Life, and Double Deluxe too. So I followed this guide (http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Uninstall#How_to_Fully_Uninstall_Sims_2), and manually deleted registry keys and everything. It didn't work at first though, so I used CCleaner, and now my game is back to normal, though it crashes rather often >_>. I hope this can help someone in the future ^_^
