Yesterday I went to install mods and custom content, when I was finished I went to play the game but it didn't work meaning I hadn't installed them right, it was working for all the time since I owned the game. I messed around with files (stupid i know, should have backed up) and it loaded but my neighbourhood was red, which I have seen threads about before and found no solution. I removed all custom content and no good

I then reinstalled the game and deleted the whole file in my documents ect. Then the main loading screen appeared black and I could only see the green bar and all the writing at the bottom was blurred together. That was fine, I selected a new town to play it loads and crashes half way through.

I have read other threads which say that your pc may not meet minimum requirements or graphics card is unsupported but I played a few months ago fine so my pc can meet the specs.

I'm guessing it has something to do with custom content and mods, I probably broke something but I did a clean install and deleted the file in my documents, should that not fix anything corrupted.

I'm running windows 7, and sorry for the long rant, probably a wall of text :P Thanks

Sims 3 - Installing / Patching / Uninstalling
Whether you are Installing for the first time or Reinstalling, be sure to read the Game Help:Install FAQ.
-
This Game_Help:TS3_Uninstall link has the step-by-step instructions to guide you through uninstalling The Sims 3,
and its (EP/SP) packs. As well as removing any leftovers after uninstalling.
-
The Game_Help:TS3_Patching Guide provides information on:
Tips Before You Begin
Patching Common Errors
Manual Patch Downloads
Invalid File Errors and more

The red neighborhood means you messed with the wrong resource.cfg file, ie the game one instead of the CC Framework one.

The jumbled up writing at the loading screen may be due to a corrupt install.

If it is still happening, do another full, clean uninstall.
