Hi everyone,

This is the first time I have needed to post in the help section as MTS2 has such useful information, I can normally deal with my game, however this has me stumped.

I have all expansion packs and NO stuff packs.

Okay, here are my computer Specs:

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium
Processor: 2.00 GHz intel Core i7-2630QM CPU
Ram: 6GB
Graphics Card: nVidia Geforce GT 540M, Driver Version 266.69

My problem began when one of my sim twins did not want to grow from a baby to a toddler, even when taken to a cake. All of the actions were performed by the sims, however the baby did not grow. I left the game, closed and restarted and eventually 2 days later the other twin finally became a toddler, so I put it down to a glitch and carried on.

I then decided to create a new lot, a grandmother with her grandson, cats and dogs. The lot I played on was a ready made maxis lot in situ. Just added decoration, beds etc.
Everything seemed to be fine until the boy started coming home from school. I was not paying attention to him arriving as I was busy with grandma. I recieved a pop up about object error, just reset it because it sometimes does happen. I suddenly remembered about homework and went to look for it, and could not find any. So I let him go to school again, he came home, got off the bus. He stood a little it looked like the book was going to appear, then the pop up again, and I could not cancel it, so had to reset. As I did, no homework, and then he carried on as normal.

When I gave the pets jobs, I watched when they came home from work. As they get out of the car, they stand there, then the pop up that I have to reset. Then no wage, and no job promotion even though everything is set for them to have one.

Also maybe related, maybe not. Gave a dog a bath, it froze in the bath with water dripping from it, which even a restart did not fix, had to booprop testingcheats to force an error so the dog could be reset.

Okay, this is what I have done to try and fix the problem.

Turned off Testingcheats. This stopped the pop up, and gave the game the ability to reset itself, however that is all it does, reset itself. No money, promotion, homework.

Removed downloads folder, still the same.

Removed all other CC. Error still occurs.

Deleted Cache, Accessories and Thumbnails. No Joy.

I have never had this error befor, or any errors like this actually in all my time playing the sims, and the only thing I can think of is the recent patch for AL.

I have all expansion and no stuff packs. I do not have much custom content in my game right now, no objects. Only hair, clothing and Makeup.

If anyone could help me I would be very much appreciated.

Tried to post the logs, however, could not do so as they are too long, and could not upload as too large.

Maybe I could do that seperately at some point if needed, or link to another file upload site.

For the Homework you can get more information and a solution here (http://www.simbology.com/smf/index.php?topic=7613.0). It's a glitch that happens when the game can't find a parent at the lot.

I also had the problem with errors when pets returned from work. Came after I installed AL. I patched the game and tried everything. Nothing worked. However; one day I discovered that Pescados alfixes was supposed to fix this issue (and lots of other problems to), so I installed it in my game - and it worked! No more errors. You can find the hack here: http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/ffs/index.php?dir=al%2Fhacks%2F

You are both wonderful. Both worked beautifully. i searched for days trying to find something to help me, and you two come along and give me the answer in a day. Thank both so much.

Just one little thing, my cat has been at work for 2 days, at least that is what it says, he is not home, however work called grandma and he missed work heehee...anyway, I cannot seem to get him back. The little sod has fecked off and left 2 kids and a wife....heehee...anywho, also the friend the boy sim brought home from school before I added the hack, has NOT left, she is still there, eating Grandma's food and sleeping in her bed. So I lost a member of the family, and gained a stranger.

I can tell the girl to leave sure, but what about the cat? Any ideas, or do I put it down to a loss?

If you installed the hack during the time the pet was at work, I think the pet could "get stuck" there. It happend to me too, when I experimented with the hack for the first time. However; I then used the bathbox to force error off-world, and then my pet came back :). But I donīt know if thatī s the best thing to do, I did the whole thing in a hood I only use for experiment-purpose. Another solution would be to move the family out and then back again. Or perhaps you could take out the hack temporarily, wait for the pet to come back quit the game and then put it back.

Thank you again, I shall give both a try. If he does not come back after the removal of the hack, then I shall have to move them out and back again.
I am just happy everything works so good again, it was driving me insane :bunny:

The simmanipulator (http://simmanipulator.forumotion.com/t7-download-the-sim-manipulator) has an option to restore a family, you could try that before having to move sims in and out.

Thank you Pleun, lucky have not moved them out yet. I will have a look at that, was not too keen on the idea of having to re-decorate so I will try that first. :D

If everything fails, and you have to move them in and out, there's a way to prevent having to redecorate. Go here (http://www.drealm.info/simlogical/sl/Sims2Pages/Sims2_MiscHacks.htm) and scroll down until you see a stay things shrub.
