Roof Problem, help of builders wanted...

Hello everyone,
I've never had problem with roofs before, until trying to recreate house from canal area of Amsterdam ( I really don't know how is this architctural style called). Every roof type I tried clips through fences on top, spoiling all decorative effect. Is there way to overcome this?
