I love the new November theme - Ancient World - and remembered that I made two mummies some time ago. I`m not sure if they fit the theme (although Egyptians are mentioned and the mummies are very old Egyptians LOL).
Anyway, I would like to get some feedback on my mummies. What do you think about them? Are they worth to be shared here at MTS?

they fit theme
I don't have WA, so correct me if i'm wrong but they don't look too mummy like. At least make them look less..alive and more dead like :P

The best way to start this project would be to first research a bit. Try to find tons images of ancient Egyptians, preferably statues where they were portrayed realistically! Having a solid image in your head of how the people looked back then is a very good start to making these sims. :)

Are you trying to portray ancient egyptians or re-animated mummified ancient egyptians?

To me, personally, these sims look like modern day Sims dressed up as mummies. As Simsample said, are they supposed to be re-animated corpses or actual Egyptian people from that time?

:here: Honetley I think that the face structure, and the facial features need some work doing on them. I would strongley advice that you should make a, custom make-up facemask (a mummy one, you could also use maybe a hat/mask to cover their face. It would take a longer time to finish this set of sims, but the outcome would be great. If you don't want to create custom meshes or make-up then just install one, I hope that this helped). I think that this would make them look a bit more realistic. The reason why I think this is only because it A.it would make them look better and B.Ancient mummies faces were always covered. Also they look a bit cartoony, or is this the effect that you were looking for? If you don't want their faces covered then I'd strongley advice that you install a custom skin because I notice at the moment that you are using an EA skin at the moment which honstley are awful, go to Lady Frontbum's Blog (http://www.ladyfrontbum.com/?category_name=genetics&paged=2) to install some great ones. I really like the blue/turquoise colours that you are using at the moment on their clothing and their make-up it really brings them out, I'd use those colours all the way through the project, although I do think that the male mummy has a bit too much blue on him, it's kind of over whelming. There is something really wrong with the shoes that you are using at the moment, they just stick out and look ugly, maybe you could download some more that don't stick out of the foot so much and are quite flat and kind of stick to the skin. It maybe possible to make some on yourself, I do think that if you can make your own custom content then you would stand a better chance in the competition. When you upload your custom sims to the exchange then I'd advice that you don't show all of their outfits (e.g.Everyday,formal,swimwear etc) because it kind of ruins the effect of the mummies, and as I'm sure that you know mummies don't really wear T-shirts and dresses. I think that maybe you should get some resource pictures of mummies that you could show us, also we need some pictures of your sims faces "Up close and personal" with the camera right up to the sims face and then looking straight at the camera because at the moment your sims are looking down and we can't really see what features of the face need to be changed. I honestley really don't think that they are up to the mod the sims standerds at the moment, but I'm sure with a bit of work you could get them up to the right standard that mod the sims are looking for. Your sims are also very basic, they have a round face and they don't look that great at the moment. To get your sims faces looking good I'd advice that you have a look and take in the information on this Tutorial (http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=432920) on how to make unique sims, I know the tutorial is mainly how to create Celebrity sims but it has some good advice on it that you should take in and add to your sims. It doesn't look like you are using any Custom Sliders on your sims at the moment, I'd strongley (well...extremely) advice that you should download these custom sliders found here (http://blog.naver.com/ginami97/107402943), here (http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=399866), here (http://awtmk.blogspot.com/2010/07/slider-hack.html), here (http://awtmk.blogspot.com/2011/07/geom-slider-philtrum-lower-width.html?showComment=1311570010386#c3034679605605218031) and the last one found here (http://awtmk.blogspot.com/2011/06/geom-slider-set-nose-septum.html) . Of course these sliders are not necessary for you to create a unique sims but will help a lot. I hope that my advice has helped you, and I'm quite looking forward to see what you do with them!

Thanks for the detailed feedback!
I`ll try everything that you all suggested.
BTW, Simsample is right. I`m trying to make re-animated ancient Egyptians.
Now I`m off to check the suggested links.

Some people say pharaohs was africans. Some statues show features like todays africans. Lots of people don't like the thought of egyptians being africans of cause. I also want to point out that statues don't need to look like the original really. It's more about what image you like to give to the person in that perticular setting.
My point is only that finding out what egyptians really looked like might be close to impossible.
