I've successfully converted some adult outfits to teen and vice-versa with no problems. Now I want to have a go at converting some adult outfits with alpha layers. I'm assuming that when I grab a teen mesh to overwrite with my scaled down adult one, I'll need one that already has alpha layers. How would I go about easily finding this information? The only way I know is to create a bunch of Bodyshop projects and see how many images pop out, but this seems unnecessarily complicated. Is there an easy way to find out?

What I would suggest is simply adding the alpha layers to the recolour package yourself. CatOfEvilGenius's tutorial (http://stonegod.org/sims2/tutorial/alpha%20skirt%20tutorial/index.html) shows you how to do this (the tutorial is for a skirt, but the steps for adding alpha parts are the same no matter what you're making). The exact steps you need are here (http://stonegod.org/sims2/tutorial/alpha%20skirt%20tutorial/index.html#recolPackage) but I would suggest reading through the whole tutorial anyway; it's a good resource on how to make alpha meshes.

OK, thanks, I'll have a read of those. I've never tried mucking around with alpha's, but I guess there's no time like the present to start learning!

We used to copy the txmt's and textures for alpha layers till i discovered how to clone them with bodyshop:

It is much easier, quicker and with less errors :)

There is also a more in depth tutorial on TSRW, with pictures i believe.
dont forget to read the ''NOTE'' as you do need to change the materialdefination and enable the blend settings when done.

Not sure if you just want a teen alpha dress or want to mesh one yourself.
Feel free to clone one of mine if you can not figure it out.

Although most meshfiles contain 3 or 4 shoemeshes, just one is called by the outfit.

Thanks, I'll have a look at those too. :) I pretty much just want a teen alpha outfit that I can clone and overwrite with a scaled down adult one, I didn't think about using an existing CC one instead of an EAxis one. That should help nicely, thank you.

You can clone one of the outfits and attache your own mesh to it.
Just have a look at the tutorial to find the correct meshgroup ''names''
I often renamed the groups
