View Full Version : Replacing the cloned import with my own mesh?

I'm sorry if this has already been asked, I've read the tutorials and all, but they only mention building your object from scratch next to the imported cloned mesh.

For instance, I'm working on a version of the womrat cage. I meshed and scaled a small rabbit, and was wanting to replace the womrat with the bunny as I've seen other variations on the womrat pet here.

How do I go about importing the already finished mesh I made to replace the womrat mesh, instead of opening the womrat mesh and editing from scratch?

Pretty much exactly the same way. The safest thing to do is to open up the cloned mesh in your object editing program, then delete everything and load your new mesh in in its place. Then you can just continue as before. The benefit to doing it this way is that you can make sure that the size and placement of your new mesh is comparable with the original (so you don't accidentally end up with a 20 ft bunny!)

You can just import your mesh directly, if it's in a compatible format, using the "Import" options in SimPE, but the above is a *lot* more reliable. :)
