Describe exactly what is happening. This happened with my cat once. It was with an NPC cat and the cat in my household. I had to temporarily add him to the household to mate. It's because he wouldn't go to the cat house to mate. He'd walk in that direction then be distracted with another action.

At least with horses, you don't get an immediate notification of pregnancy - unlike with sims, there is no sound played for it, and the option for mating doesn't disappear when it's been successful. After about a day, you get a popup (over in the top right) saying that the horse is pregnant, and then the horse gets a "Pregnant" moodlet and can't do certain things (like jumps) till the foal is born. So even if it is successful mating, it really does look like nothing happened until you get the notification for it. I suspect it's probably much the same with cats as it is with horses.

My horses definitely did get the chimes.

Huh, weird. Maybe it only happens sometimes? I had the volume turned up and was listening closely and definitely didn't get a chime when my horse got pregnant, and she was still able to try for foal or whatever it's called. Not sure which of the five or so times I had them try actually worked, but it told me she was pregnant the next day.

i had a problem for a little while about certain sims not getting the chime, but a few days later they were pregnant.

at the time i didnt have a single mod, and very little "custom" content, just stuff you could get from the store. is that stuff even really considered "custom"? it's halfassed almost "endorsed" by ea, them having it in/on their official site/launcher thingy... i'm sure if i looked hard enough i could find fineprint that says "nope, we at ea aint endorsing squatt, ya'll are on your own..." but i'm sure YA'LL kinda understand what i'm saying there.

but yeah, some of my sims would get no lullabye chime, some would, some would, but only when they bed woohooed, not in the mayors office, or backstage at the theatre, or in the elevator, but at home in bed, chimes. they got preggers those other times. just no chimes.

Same. Sometimes my sims just don't chime. There have been a few times I've actually had them keep trying until the female sim started having morning sickness, because I hadn't heard it.

Could the sound depend on the location (like sims)? Can horses even do it in different locations?

The first time two normal horses did it in the LTR stable and I got the chimes the first time, then I had a horse and a unicorn do it in a regular stable and they had to do it about five times before they got the chimes.

The stable I was using was the most expensive buyable one (not the LTR one), and it was a female horse and a male unicorn.

Thanks for answering it really helps me because i think you are right like during one time they tried for kittens i heard the chime and then i was still able to try for kittens but my cat didnt get the pregnant moodlet thingy so im not really sure but it might need a day or two to notify that she's pregnant :mod:
