ok, am posting here as I can delete it later - remember, we are trying to get all this in one post.

The chamber pot is a PLUMBING item I think - we said Hekate Medieval Misc Objects & Hekate Medieval Cashboxes & Daluved's Jug = 1 upload post Buy Mode -> By Function -> Miscellaneous Or is this the jug?

So we can leave the chamber pot out of this post - and put the JUG in. I agree that we need the Cashboxes in their own post so this upload should now be:

Hekate Medieval Misc Objects & Daluved's Jug = 1 upload post Buy Mode -> By Function -> Miscellaneous

We have a max of 12 Attached pictures and 4 inline pictures that can be on MYP. The MYP inlines can be the presentation shots, though I would prefer to see all pics attached if possible. I have changed the list of objects to use the table code and I have added a column called picture ID. What you can do is put a number on the information pictures ( a small one) so the downloader (and moderator) can see easily which is which. Do NOT put numbers or writing on the presentation shots.

As we know, the pictures from Hekate are too small. If you can, when taking pictures, try and make all your pictures the same size (1024 by 768) - this means that they will look good in the lightbox when you view the gallery.

The decorative chamber pot on the table is Daluved's jug. I thought it was appropriate to use the inline picture with all three. Although, the reference to where to find the other objects needs to be edited because the pot on the stool is actually a toilet and the pot on the floor is a potty chair. (Potty chair category?) We also might want to mention that Hekate's working lanterns - wall and table latern - can be found in Buy Mode - Lighting - Wall Lamps & Table Lamps, respectively. I thought I'd put all three in the inline shot. I'll try to make all the inline pictures 1024x768. Is that what you mean? Do you want to send a message to Hekate about the mapping pictures that need to be redone? Or, do you want me to?

Edit: Disregard my note about the discrepancy in polys for the floor lamp. I was confusing it with the floor torch (fireplace). Sorry!

I sent Daluved a message asking for the poly counts, etc. for her jug. She responded and said she was working on it. Thanks for putting the information into a table for me! (I tried to figure out how to do it but all I could get was the headings. Obviously, I've not worked with web page editing much. Now, I can copy/paste/edit the table above.) What's the lightbox in the gallery? (Don't know all the terminology, sorry.) Thanks! SimmyRN

Hi simmy - oh ok - in that case carry on with the pictures and just adjust the description :) I agree we need to cross-reference posts as much as possible. I agree on the reference to where we can find objects - i shall adjust the table so it also has a catalog location.

I think it is actually for ROBODL to send the message to Hekate regarding retaking the UV maps. Given the delay on this upload from all sides she may not want to - in which case it will be a crash course on how to take object upload pics. :(

The lightbox is when you click on a picture and it goes big on the screen (not sure how to phrase that, so I hope you see what I mean :) )

I don't see the table lantern in this post - do you want to put the two lanterns together or keep the post split as it is now?

Okay, while placing objects for scene shots I noticed that Hekate had the floor lantern coded wrong in the table. It is not a decorative object. It is a working floor lamp. So, I'll need to move it to the thread for the lights (with the wall and table lanterns) and adjust this thread. I understand what you mean about the lightbox, I think. When you click on a screenshot and get a larger picture in a dialog box. I can try to make all the screenshots the same size, but I can't do 1024x768. When I use that high resolution for a screenshots, it exceeds the 250 kb upload size limit for jpgs. I could try compressing the pictures - although I've never done that before - or use bmps or some other format. I'll send Robodl95 a message to contact Hekate. Thanks!

Simmy - from the wiki :)

Many simmers struggle with getting their images to be clear, crisp and under the 250kb file size while keeping the image size larger than 800px by 600px. After getting your images from the in game camera or using a print screen program you will need to resize them and compress them into a jpeg image. Many graphics programs have a built in optimizing feature. Here are a few common ones:
Photoshop *Pay
Gimp *Free
IrfanView *Free

Oh thanks! I downloaded GIMP and it works great for resizing photos! (I'd not used it since a very brief and disasterous stint with trying to do recolors, clothing, etc., in Sims 2.) It's way better than Microsoft Picture Manager which came with my Office suite. That software mostly has preset resolutions and you don't know what the file size is until after you save the pictures. I really like the slider in GIMP. Look for better pictures from me! I appreciate your patience and help.

No problems - it is why I am here - to help you guys :) The post formatting is looking nice I think - very clear and easy to read.

I like the big picture of the sim warming his ass - can you try your newfound GIMP skills at saving that one JUST under the 250kb mark? Without changing the dimensions? It is preferred to have the pictures attached where possible in an upload post.

Is this what you meant? (I cropped the screenshot "warming" picture just a bit to get it closer to the size of the other screenshots.) I'm working on more market stall pictures. I'm not happy with the ones I have so far. SimmyRN

That looks good so far. Now we can swap the attached picture with the picture from MYP.

Did you see the note I left you in Creator Issues in the lots upload?

And double posting, here I go -

On the table format with the list of items and polygons and things we have the column picture id.. So we need to give the picture an ID. We also need to get bigger pictures of the UV mapping on the Hekate items.

Do not do this in your real savegame.

This is how you do it. Set up an empty lot with a room made of two walls and a floor. Paint the walls and floors a flat slightly off white - sort of creamy. Get a random sim and move them in. Put them somewhere out of the way.

Go to BUY MODE and get the object you want to take a picture of and put it on the white floor with the two white walls behind it. Go to cast and change the channels to a blue and white checkered pattern, red and white checkered pattern, green and white checkered pattern and yellow and white checkered pattern - depending on how many channels there are.

Go to live mode and PAUSE the game. Press tab on your keyboard and you are in cameraman mode. Line up the shot and take the screenshot, bearing in mind that minimum size is 800 by 600 so do not be too zoomed out, but allow a little white space around the object.

In GIMP, in a plain font (like arial, tahoma, verdana) write the object id in the bottom corner of the picture - maybe also its name. Do not write over the object in anyway. No other writing. This is information, not presentation.

Yes, I did. I've made the requested changes. (I'll need to do the same to the Community Lots.) I think it's ready to be cleaned up and submitted. Thanks so much! SimmyRN

Okay, mapping pictures are done. Hope they are okay. Please let me know if any need changed. All we're waiting on now is further information from deluved1 for the decorative chamber pot. Shall I move on to the next object thread? The Community Cash Boxes? SimmyRN

Actually, it is kind of fun to learn how to do new things. Thanks! I'm starting a thread for the community cash boxes. SimmyRN
