My Sims 3 game freezes for about 3 seconds and then the computer goes to static and everything recovers? I'm not really sure how to fix this. It was working fine before. But after I updated my graphics card this started to occur. Is there something else I need to update when I update my graphics card?

Do you mean that you upgraded your graphics card - literally took the old one out and put a new one in - or that you updated your drivers, by downloading them from nVidia/ATI's website?

Updated my drivers, sorry. And I didn't download them from the website but I did it by clicking search for updates. I'm not sure if that makes a difference though.

It does. That's the best way to end up with the wrong graphics drivers installed. Never trust Windows. :)

What's your graphics card model? You can find out using these instructions: Game Help:System Specs - with that info, we can help you find the proper drivers (unless you already know where to get them).

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470
It's the one with the "maybes" on it on the list of graphics cards for sims 3
How can I uninstall the last update?
Also where can I get an update?

Get AMD drivers from AMD website: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx

Update in safe mode
===============
- Download the driver file
- boot to Safe mode (press F8 during boot-up),
- uninstall old driver via Control Panel
- reboot (You'll be defaulted to standard VGA drivers at low resolution)
- install new drivers
- reboot again

You may also want to verify that DirectX is current: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=8109

Presumably, since it's a Mobility rather than a real card, it'd need to updated from the laptop manufacturer's website - or am I wrong about the card?

How do I uninstall the old file in the control panel?

@whiterider, as far as I know, Yes. Mobility Video Card owners should only obtain drivers from their laptop vendor.

Please let us know the rest of your Game Help:System Specs before you update anything, LiekOMGEEZE.

As a general point, uninstalling things through Control Panel is done via Control Panel -> Add or remove programs/Uninstall a program.
