First, happy New Year to you all, hope Sims get even better this year. Today, I am writing t o ask about lot pricing. Please correct me if wrong, but beachfront lots are worth more. Also, I built a house, and I observed the price to be $121k at a beachfront lot, then $119k at a regular lot towards the opposite area of town. I put it in the library so I could post to here, and Today the price in the library is $116k. Please explain this, as I have huge difficulty setting the price for lots, which is why I don't upload. This also happened with another house, but clearly I saw that one lot was worth way more. I am very confused, is this like real life where different plots of land are worth different $$$, and if so how do you tell the value of JUST what I've built on the land. I have it running on OS X Lion 10.7.2., most current version.

Lot price is based on the lot size as well as another value for lot pricing, which can be set in Create-a-World when adding the lots themselves, so yes, you can make beachfront property more expensive by adding to the value, or make super-cheap lots in the slums by subtracting from it using Create-a-World. I don't know if there's a way to edit this in-game via cheats.
