View Full Version : Why is there a lack of teen clothes available to download?

As some of you may know I am writing a teen drama in the story section so I really am looking everywhere for teen clothes/accessories.
I've come to the realization that creators and the game itself dont really have teen options. I just want to know why? why can't the teens in the game have the same clothes as the adults?
It just really bugs me that I can barely find teen clothes (and its next to impossible to find male teen clothes).
I feel like teens in sims 2 had more options because they were able to do more stuff (stay out late, party,etc..) and in sims 3 they are basically treated like 12 year olds.

Because teen clothes require a different sized mesh than their adult counterparts. So it's basically the same as creating a totally different outfit/mesh.

TS2 didn't have a lot of clothing options for toddlers, children, teens, or elders, either. A lot of what I used for those age groups in TS2 was CC. Since we're only two+ years into TS3, the creative community hasn't caught up to the demand.

I think it's the opposite - teens are carbon copies of adults. Through 5 expansions they still haven't gotten any clothing that is unique to them. Don't let me start on the weird fish lip and pudgy faces. Your face changes a little in that time period but since when are fishlips a teen characteristic? Generations improves teens gameplay wise (moodswings, partying, pranks, etc). Anyhow teens are still better off than elders.

You know what your obvious answer is, Karasu.
Figure out how to make clothing (tutorials exist on this site) and do it yourself. Then share it with everyone else.

Except I really don't have the time to do that anymore.
Maybe if I was back in high school where I had a lot of free time.

A quick and easy way to lose the sympathy of modders is to imply that your time is more valuable than theirs ;)
If you want to be pointed to teen clothes (or anything else), try the WCIF forum under Help.

I didnt mean to offend anyone =/
I'm just saying that for me personally I would not be able to do it.
I'm sure there are plenty of modders that fit it into busy schedules, and hats off to them.

I'm actually more interested in knowing why did EA decided elders need so many mini-skirts, but not that many knee high ones.

I never get teen clothing actually... I never thought about it. I preferred adult clothing since adults have a longer lifespan...
