Why do so many people hate Peggy Zone? I download CC from that website all the time and they always look great :/ I always read people saying how awful their stuff is.

I dont't hate Peggy Zone and I've downloaded her stuff for years... since Sims 2. I didn't even realize there were PeggyZone haters. I haven't downloaded from PZ in the last 6 months since someone inevitably retextures her hairs that looks a lot better IMHO so I wait for that and download it instead of Peggy's.

Maybe I just attract Peggy haters :P

"Low quality items, look nothing like the pictures. Generally break the game or have horrible gaps. "

is genuinely the response I get out of people.

I personally don't like her/the site because of the following reasons:
1) one of the most notorious "pay sites" around, for TS2 AND TS3
2) all the glitter and moving things and pink and arrrgh D:
3) a lot of her meshes are huge and poofy and IMO, don't look good until another creator such as Anubis (http://anubis360.blogspot.com/) redoes them (so I don't download from her site, like ever, because I just wait for someone to redo it as lisfyre said above)
4) HER NUMBERING DOES NOT MAKE SENSE. This is one of the most annoying things. When I do download her hairs, the pictures, the meshes, and the recolors all have different numbers so its impossible to keep it all organized and sane. Plus it makes finding recolors even more difficult.

However it was a bad idea, as pirates don't give a shit but Peggy's site users already risking their eyesight are totally lost. :gjob:

I never go on her site, it makes my browser crash. Too much glitter probably.

Lol, that's pretty funny. And another thing I hate - If I ever became a popular creator like that, sure I might ask for donations (especially because I doubt she has a real job?) but if I started having donation items or whatever, obviously people are going to pirate them, its a fact of life and the internet. I would probably send my pay files to them myself ;P

Glitter, moving things and pink is the best reason to hate anything :D

I thought it was just my browser which crashed LOL. That is pretty annoying. The only browser which doesn't crash on my computer using her site is Firefox.

My browser doesn't crash - it just doesn't load the damn site!

I've never had a problem with her site crashing, but it does take a long time to load all of her things, and the files are generally huge. I only ever download the free hair though, never even looked at the pay part  .

I download them for free anyway. There are ways ;)

Her stuff has a lot of problems with bones, categories (this was fixed in newer hairs), transparency issues, mesh comments, and so on. If you look beyond the technical errors, many people dislike her greasy textures, black roots, strange styles, lack of pictures from all sides and gigantic hair. Also, because most of her stuff is pay, people (myself included) think that it's unacceptable to have so many problems that free creators do not have/fix for her. Even though she has a lot of weird hair, she has some of the best too.

Yes, glitter and sparkles are known to be very problematic even outside of good web design. Sparkles even caused the Green Bay Packers to lose. (http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/even-clay-matthews-blames-loss-megan-sparkles-210936433.html) Megan may also be to blame, but it was mainly the glitter. ;)

As people have said, Peggy hair is known to be better in the pictures than in-game.

I use her hair occasionally. A couple of my favorite male long hairs are from her site.

I don't go there often anymore though. It is sometimes tough to make sims that look good with the big hair, and I don't like sites I must pay for or sign into.

I'm not into the super wispy shiny stuff.

Peggy Zone is really neat if you enjoy making your Sims' heads look like huge, upside-down eggs.

Pro's: The hairs look very well made and nice in the pictures.

Con's: But many of them turns out to be too big in game, the site loads extremely slow and I personally don't like how almost every male hair is a converted female hair.

Some of her hairs are really cute even in game but most of them are huge. What I really don't like in her work is the texture that's even shinier than an ad for shampoo and the hairs are very high poly.
More importantly, she has a fetish for accessories; what's with the huge bows?

Well, causing the Packers to lose is enough to ban Peggy Zone from ever touching my Sims!!!

The shininess is a little annoying. I wish she would use new textures now and then :/

In general, the sims community hate all pay creators. If Peggyzone was a free site, people would be worshiping her. (Admit it).

She does make a lot of weird stuff, but some of her hairstyles are gorgeous as well. Her TS2 stuff comes out looking better than the versions for TS3, so I dunno.

One thing that annoys me about a lot of Asian sites is that they contain huge, flashing banners. You'd have to scroll through a bunch of pictures to find the download link for stuff. A minor pet peeve.

I like Peggy's hairs for Sims 2 but don't care much for her Sims 3 stuff - the hairs are always so big and unnaturally shiny.

I never had problems with her site, loads well for me, even on my 11 year old computer. That's the one that has Sims 2 still on it. As I said, I used to go there and download her free hairs, I never subscribed. Most of the hairs I got from PZ were Sims 2, I never got around to downloading for Sims 3 because someone else retextures (Anubis, Metalmoose, Savio) them and makes them look loads better so I grab the retex instead.

I wouldn't worship her because even if her site was free, that wouldn't change the things I find annoying in her work. free stuff or not a weird hairstyle is still a weird hairstyle.
My point of view is that i don't want them for free so I don't see the point of paying for them. However if some people want to pay for them it's their right and thei money.

tbh, I'm not real comfortable with threads like this - whatever one's personal feelings on Peggy Zone, TSR, GoS, MATY or whatever other popular site, a lot of these threads turn bashy really quick (as this thread already has) and I don't find it terribly helpful or educational for new simmers. If ya want to know about a site, try it out. Don't pay for content, as that's just silly, but there's plenty of interesting stuff out there, so, y'know, go exploring. Keep the stuff you like, delete the stuff you don't.
