So, I recently started playing Sims 3 again and today I started playing Don Lothario. As we all know, Don is a huge romance sim and a player. So, sticking to his character I got him to have multiple lovers at once. One of them got pregnant and I was thinking, why isn't there shared custody? I find that weird & I really wish they included that atleast in Generations ep since it's all about family.

Anyone else agree?

I also hate how a sim family that you're not actively playing (not the active household) will get pregnant, have a baby, and it won't have a crib or anything to sleep in or the essential things a baby needs. I find that so annoying and dumb. we shouldn't be able to get sims pregnant that don't live in our household if that means the child will basically suffer cause they won't have anything.

Shared custody is easy in TS3. Just go to Edit Town, click on child;s current household and split household. Then move child in with the other parent. And vice versa.

Won't I have to keep doing that back and forth? I'm a bit confused but that does sound like a good idea.

Yes you'd have to keep doing it. But it's fairly realistic - in real life having to divide your time between to families with two sets of rules and two of "my room" is pretty hectic :)

There a cheat where you can add a sim to the active family. Shift-click with testingcheatsenabled true I think. Be selected on either the mother or the father and use it on the child. But yeah I agree about how it should be a feature of generations, where you can set the terms, like mums M-F and Dad on the weekend or whatever. But as far as the baby in inactive families, I think either Twallan's SP/MC or Awesome (I don't know which, I have both/all) doesn't allow babies to happen unless there is enough space/a crib present.
