A Sims 2 language question...

I read on how you could change the written text to another language here in the FAQ.
I went on 'regedit', but, EA is not the file in 'Software'. I searched for EA, there were the sims 2 games I had installed there, but there was no 'language' option. I have an HP Pavilion if that helps... :help:

A little bit strange question. Where did you read this and which FAQ. It is looking to me much more to computer system help than Sims2 Help.
Are you trying to change game text to another language? Or making your game to be played in another language?

If you use Regedit to edit your registry, you will find one entry for each of your EPs and SPs that looks like this one (for the base game):
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\EA GAMES\The Sims 2\1.0]
"Language"=dword:000000011 is obviously U.S. English. I have no idea what the other options are.

If you decide to modify the registry, be sure to backup first, since you can render your computer unusable if you make a mistake:

To change the language during installation of the game, they edit a copy of the autorun.

What if you want to change the language after installing? Is it best to uninstall and reinstall with the language change?

I suspect the OP's issue is that they're on 64-bit, and that FAQ doesn't mention Wow6432node. I'll stick it on my to-do list for a day with fewer deadlines.
