My game was playing just fine and dandy, now that I have had to update to the latest awesomemod, the loading screen's green bar won't move. When I remove awesomemod, it loads just fine. My last expansion pack is Pets. Should I download to the latest patch 1.29 to 1.33. I am a bit scared to do that in case the patch borks the game.

I need awesomemod for:

the editsim in CAS function;
expansion of sliders
and increasing number of sliders one can have.

Is there anything else I can upload that will do this?

Moved to Sims 3 Help.

What patch version is the game on, now?

It says update from patch 1.29 to 1.33 so I guess I am on 1.29.

Core-Mods are Patch specific. You MUST ensure you are running the Patch Level to which that mod is compatible.

So, yes, you need to update to Patch 1.33 to use the latest version of [Awesome].

----

Note that all the functionality you mentioned in your original post is available in non-core-mod form in [MasterController].

You do not need to use [Awesome] solely for that reason.

Who is "it" in the "it says"?

Awesomemod has been and always would be for the current patch. It is stated in the RTFM.
And as we don't provide support for any mods here, each creator provides and each downloader seeks support themselves at the site/thread/blog/whatever where you download the item from, I have to refer you to MATY for AM help.

If you want to use AM, I suggest you patch.

LOL, "It" is the launcher. Thank you Twallan and ellacharm3d for the advice. ellacharm3d, I would have sought advice on MATY, but I am sure you are aware of the rudeness that is prevalent on that site and I preferred to go where I knew I could get a civil answer, so thank you both for that. Twallan I may just stop using AM and convert to MC.

I understand, Audrey. :)
But we also can't be expected to answer questions on each and every CC out there, or be selective and say we will help support this CC but not that CC, as that would be unfair. Although, whenever possible we will address the general issue that pertains to why that CC won't work anymore.

Since you did get your answer, I'll tag this as such.
