I read that face masks don't look good on Sims 3 at all but is that really true? I really want to create face masks of Shirley MacLaine & daughter Sachi for my sims 3 versions of them. I recently did that for The Sims 2 and I know it'd really make a difference in Sims 3.

Sachi -
The Sims 2 picture looks kind of blurry there but you can see that she looks more like Sachi with the face mask. I want my Sim 3 Sachi to look like that. Can anyone help with this?

I would suggest taking this discussion to Creator Feedback... lots of very talented Sim creators there :)

So would Shirley and Sachi face masks look good on Sims 3 or not?

I don't think face masks are that bad. These are creations using face masks

Those face masks aren't bad looking at all. Thanks for the links!

But the problem with face masks is this: If the sim's face sculpt doesn't look like the person, and you age them up/down or breed them, the aged sim/the sim's kids will look nothing like the original/parent sim.
If that happens, the only option is to apply the facemask, which results in the aged sim/kid looking exactly like the original/parent sim.

It's certainly true that you can create nice-looking celebrity sims using facemasks, and if the facemask only covers very very final tweaks - scars or wrinkles or whatever other details you absolutely cannot do using the sculpt - then that's great. But if a sim relies too heavily on its facemask, it becomes unplayable. :)
