Moving sims into another house

I'm trying to move my sims into another house. I evict the active household and try to move in a different house, but... there is only an option to buy furnished. Shouldn't there be an option to move into an unfirnished house?

Are you moving them in edit game mode, or by the phone?

Edit game mode. I evicted them first then tried to move.

Try moving them by phone. I believe you should then have that option.

Hmmm I just tried using the phone but it still didnt give me that option. When I try to move it gives me the option to pack or sell the furniture. I click pack because I want to keep all the furniture in that house and not move it over to the next house... but I stil don't get the unfirnished option.

I think this choice is only available when you move in a household from the bin, via the "Move in Household" (or whatever it is called) option.

If you use "pack" the furniture, this means your sims pack the furniture, like in an invisible moving van, and take it with them to the next house. If you want to leave the furniture behind, you should be using "sell". I don't know if this has any effect on the unfurnished option on the new house though.

When placing an evicted household, you don't have the option of choosing the new lot be furnished or unfurnished. The new home is in as-is condition. If you want the family to purchase the home unfurnished, then edit the house in build/buy mode and delete the existing furniture before the family purchases the home.
