checking mod compatibility & relevancy

there're too many mods here and i'm confused which can still be used and which don't, how to check for incompatibilities(the best program?) & whether that mod became useless from patching the game

Remember which patch version you're on - basegame patch version, the one starting with 1.x. If you've forgotten, you can check using any of these methods: Game Help:TS3 Patching Find Gameversion.
For every mod on the site, either in the Download tab or in the Overview tab, the creator says which versions the mod works for. If you're version isn't listed, you shouldn't use the mod.
