Need little help for modding here

I decided to come back for Sims 2 cause TS3 actually sucks in my opinion.
The only good thing of TS3 is the graphic.

I tried to mod Sims 2 to make it look as good as possible.
I downloaded a skin mod and installed it successfully.But it changed nothing in game,my sims are still look ugly as it was.

Isn't it supposed to be like the sceenshots?Did I miss something?This is my first time to mod TS2.

Did you follow the download instructions? I think there was something special you had to do to get default replacements to work...

Regarding defaults. You should only have to put these into Downloads for them to work - nearly all TS2 mods work like that. Where did you put the files? And did you enable custom content the first time you ran the game?

They all look like the same sim disguised slightly differently. Using a plural is stretching it a bit.

Check your graphics settings too. The best CC is never going to look as great as the previews if you're playing with low texture detail and no smooth edges.
