View Full Version : TS2 Multiplayer!

I've seen two threads (pretty much dead) floating around about trying TS2 Multiplayer! And that sounds like so much fun, it's hard to stand it.

So I wanted to start a 'hood for TS2MP! It's called Emerald Smokes, and only my family lives in it right now, so it's pretty easy to play with. I'm going to cover some more stuff on Emerald Smokes, but if you're interested, please send an email to [email protected]

ONLY BASEGAME! However, CC IS ALLOWED! If you use CC, figure out what CC you used, find it in your (hopefully) organized downloads folder and attach them with the 'hood when you send it on, so everyone can enjoy your CC.

You *ARE* allowed to interact with other players Sims, just don't go inside their houses and play as that family. You can call them, if they pass by on the street, you can socialize with them, and those sorts of things. Sounds depressing, yes, but you have every right to sabotage whatever relationships that are happening in the game! It's a lot more realistic that way. However, CHEATS ARE NOT ALLOWED.

Play for a Sim week, then pass it back to me at the email address given above. I'll then pass it on to the next person on the list. After a full rotation, we'll start back again at square one, play the family that we made, then pass it in the rotation.

If you want to join while a rotation is happening, please email me! I'll add you onto the end of the awaiting simmers, so you'll have a chance to play your family in the town. While playing your family, please take as many pics as possible, and make a story for them in story mode. Name the lot you moved your family into your username, and be sure to sign the Neighborhood Info with it, too, so we can see who played!

If you're interested, PLEASE email me at emeraldsmokesmultiplayer@aol.

All interest is appreciated!

PS: If you cannot continue for whatever reason, please email me and send the town back. :)

Does this work with Any Game Starter? And which hacks work in Base Game? I don't want to cheat, but a few things like "notownieregen" are standard part of my villages.

I freaking love the idea of that!.

But we all have to have a game with the same custom content (or none at all) and with the same EPs (maybe we'll just use an AnyGameStarter with the BG only).

Otherwise nice idea!

Yes, AGS will work to separate content. What I did was just mouse over things that were CC, copy down their file names on a paper, then once it's time to rotate, just send the town, along with the used CC, to the next person. :)

If each person adds their favorite CC with each rotation, I wonder whether the CC for this will balloon out of control.

CC used, not that isn't used (if that makes sense)! And it's bee-yoo-tee-ful CC.

notownieregen is a hack. Yes, notownieregen works for the base game:

Eh, I personally count cheats as code written into the game by EAxis and hacks/mod as player-made files.

ETA: The autolink would appear to back me up here. ^^ So notownieregen is NOT a cheat.

Naturesque, you can get all the information you need regarding the Sims Multiplayer project in the official MTS social group: http://modthesims.info/forumdisplay.php?f=546&groupid=543 There's tips and tricks to get you started as well as threads where players can document their activities via picture blogs.

I don't know if lauratje86 is still around, but she was running a basegame hood with a few other people, hit her up and see if they're still accepting new players.

I sent lauratje86 a pm after seeing her basegame only hood (only 3 days ago) and havent heard back yet, but that doesnt mean she isn't around anymore. I'm very interested in doing this, but like Mootilda I'm concerned about all the cc. I for one already have a lot of cc ( my hood is a oldwest/prarie hood, and the maxis country collection gets old really fast!) and I share the computer with my husband (who says just what I have makes everything slower) I think a few hacks (like no townie regen) would be good, but to much cc for things like hair and clothes and such might just weigh it down.

CC would be nice, but I strongly recommend putting a limit on the volume. Illusion Bay, for example, introduced CC at the third or fourth round and each of us were limited to 10MB.

I'd love to join you, I miss the excitement of shared neighbourhoods.

You need AnyGameStarter to do that. It'll separate things out so you won't put, say, a diner in a BG town. Email me for more help! :sheep:
