Turn a Household Sim into an NPC

I just let another Sim move in with me but now I have control of this new Sim. Is there a mod that turns this Sim into an NPC?

Not if you want the sim to remain in your household.

Well, if you do not want to control said person, you can type in "boolprop testingcheatsenabled true" (no quote marks) then hold shift and click on said sim and click on "make unselectable"

"Make Unselectable" does not turn sims into townies. It simply makes them unselectable.

Playables can be turned into townies with TwoJeff's SimBlender, Argon's Townie Brick, maybe Pescado's "batbox" LotDebugger, and maybe Inge's Teleporter Cat - not sure on those last two.

As Mootilda said, doing this will remove the sim from the household. The Ask/Move In option always makes the sim moving in playable.

The only way to get a non-playable housemate, aside from Uni dorms, is to move your sim into an apartment and use the newspaper or computer to Find Roommate. Or something like that. Not sure - I've never done it.

I suppose you could set up a one-unit "apartment" that looks like a house in order to mimic a residential lot, then go the roommate route. I don't know if you could pick that exact townie to be a roommate, though.
