Charmed, I'm sure - the Halliwell sisters, Piper,Phoebe, Paige and finally Prue

Hi all

This is my first attempt at creating the Charmed sisters. First I give you Piper (Holly Marie Combs).

She is not screaming Piper at me, so any feedback to get her there, will be much appreciated.

IIIIkkk... I love you for this Audrey! Haha. Charmed used to be my no. 1 show some years ago. Piper was my favourite of the sisters aswell :)

- Her pupils should be a bit smaller. Her Iris color a bit less red. More hazel colored (yellow/brown?)
- Mouth is spot on. It looks like it's about copy/pasted. Don't touch it!
- Maybe try on some other eyebrows? These are a similar shape, but they look a bit short and the corner is a bit too sharp.
- Not sure, but maybe eyes should be a click or two smaller.

Her overall face seems to have the right shape. Nose looks about as good as it can be. It still annoys me how there's no slider for the upper part of the nose bridge. This is an issue for a lot of celebrity sims.

You need a picture of Holly Marie Combs AS Piper. You may also need to make or have made custom eyebrows, as she isn't Piper without the eyebrow scar. Good luck, I love the crap outta that show.

Turn tip of nose a bit. Try moving the nasal bridge down to even with the lower lid to see if that helps. Chin needs to be more pronounced / square and/or the angle of the jaw sharper. Great job!

Piper was, and always will be, my favorite of the sisters!

I think her nostrils need to be just the slightest bit wider. Agree that the mouth is amazing as is though I am not sure about the color of the lipstick. Chin should be somewhat wider. Also, I'm not sure about the skintone. It's slightly too pink. Personally, I think her eyes are what is throwing it off. The shape isn't quite there yet. Try zooming your picture out some so we can see about the same amount of your sim as the reference picture.

I agree about something being off about the eyes. To me, they look to much like almonds. I would suggest moving the upper apex towards the inner corner, and the lower apex towards the outer corner.

I know, I know, her skin is not right. I am battling to get that yellowy tinge. I also have tried every eyebrow on her and believe me the ones she has on are the best. If anyone else has any other ideas let me know, or if someone kindly wants to make a pair of unmatched eyebrows, I think that will definitely make her look, wow!

I can't get her nose bridge wider as this will look out of line with the rest of her nose. Where oh where is that damn slider?

Anyway apart from that, anything else I can tweak?

Oooh, I think maybe move her eyes apart just a teeny bit. Seeing them sized the same makes it easier to see. The nose bridge width would help with that, especially if you could soften it up some (it's such a rigid look) but sometimes the game is less than cooperative. Jaw could be a bit smoother. Also, try putting a buydebug wall light in front of your sim, facing her. The picture is super dark right now. :)

I think the eyebrows you have now are fine. Notice that the model is lifting one eyebrow which also makes one eye more wide open. (My kids call that my "mother" look.) Eyebrows could also be a tiny bit darker. Perhaps turn the nose tip up a bit more or pull it back / shorten the tip some. If you have a profile shot, that would help to compare. Chin needs to be just a little wider/squarer. Great work!

Well, after a bit of a break, I'm back. This Halliwell sister is a b*tch to make. She has one eye lower than the other and mismatched eyebrows, so it is so difficult to get her 'look'.

Anyway, I have tweaked her till I don't know what else to do.

Very good so far ! The bridge of the nose could be a little wider, and there is something a little off with the eyes.

I agree that the nose bridge could be a little wider. Nose appears to need to come down a click or two or then have tip rotated up just a bit. Also, her chin still needs to be wider. I think the eyebrows aren't helping with her eyes. They are too narrow across the face and have too much of a reddish hue to them. Can we see a profile view of her? Lastly, I think that a different hair may be in order. That one makes her forehead look like it is not wide enough. Actually, you might be able to increase her overall face width a click or two as well.

I know I have said this before, but this girl is the hardest sim I HAVE EVER TRIED. She is so asymmetrical. Her eyes are close together so you can't get that curve from her nose to her eyebrows which kinda makes her just miss 'the look'.
Anyway, waddya think.

I think her face looks a bit hard now. Her jaw is a bit too big and should be more rounded. Have you tried the new eyebrow distance sliders? It will help with the nose bridge. Her skin is a little too dark aswell I think. And her nose septum should be wider :)

Thanks Malfoya. Those sliders have made a huge difference. I think I am getting closer. I will never get the eyebrows like they look in the picture because she is lifting the left one. In other pics they are not lifted.

I can definitely see the resemblance! In my opinion, she is one of your best sims. I do think the nose bridge area needs more work. It's too harsh and narrow at the moment which throws off the rest of the face. If you fiddle with that and get it closer, I think she will be AMAZING. I would suggest lightening the skin some as well. Color is right I think, just a little too tan.

Wow! She looks real nice. Sorry to jump in the thread here. Only one thing is a little bit off: the nostrils are wider and seems what rotated as I look at pic of the actress. I don't know if this is of any help for you, and if it can be done with existing sliders.

Only a few tiny things. I agree with widening the lower lip, and making it a tiny bit bigger, and the top lip a tiny bit smaller.
Perhaps curve the eyebrows more and/or raise them the slightest.
Her eyes are just a little bit off for me. I think reducing the pupil size and making the brown less red toned would help really nail the likeness.

Other than that, she looks bloody fantastic.

I have taken your feedback on board

I know that the skintone doesn't look like it is in the RLP but I have max lighting in the room and max lightness in the skin. I don't want to change the skin because it is a beautiful skin so we'll have to live with skintone.

The end of her nose need to be wider, and then raise her cheek bones. Brows should be a little less of a dark ginger colour and more of a light brown colour. Other than that she looks really good.

I really like this one, The eyes and nose are spot on, the mouth needs some work
First it seems to be curved down a bit too much, the bottom lip should be a bit less thick and the corners of the corner of the mouth shouldnt be showing

And finally, the last Halliwell sister who left the show after the third season, Prue.

She is extremely hard to sim because she has different height eyes. Also skintone is difficult due to the particular skin I'm using, but a lot depends on what light the RLP is taken in, e.g. the difference in skintone in the two pics below.

Please note that I have not simmed her with the smile but more at rest, so her lips will be a bit thicker as in the profile shot.

I agree with MzzUnivrs's feedback on Phoebe. Also, her septum could be the slightest bit thinner. Paige looks great in post #30 but her eyes are definitely not supposed to be green. They are more of a golden-ish brown. I think Prue needs more work though. It's not the eyes, just the overall sculpt. I'll see if I can find a good picture for you. :)

For the previous sim, eyes slightly closer together. Try turning nose tip up a tiny bit and the nostrils just a bit wider. Mouth shape and eye shape are spot on! Mouth, maybe, just a little wider - both lips. For the most recent sim, eyes and eyebrows look great. The nostrils need to be just a bit wider with just a little more nose tip mass; turn nose tip down. Possibly raise the cheekbones, make them fuller, and increase the nasolabial crease. Chin a bit more square. Great start!

Wow, I love that you made her eyes assymetrical. I'd say widen her jaw a little and make the nostrils bigger and slightly higher up. Really great work on all of them!

Edit: Also, looking at Paige her head should be wider, and like someone mentioned, eyes closer together.

SimmyRN has a lot of the changes that I would suggest listed. She looks a little too gaunt, especially from the profile view so increasing the fullness of her cheeks should help. I would also see about possibly bringing her jaw wider just a click or two.

Don't worry about the agree/disagree buttons, Audrey, I'm sure people just click them at times to be "funny" themselves.

Anyway, she is looking really good - and at first glance, her features look very close to the reference. However, Shannen has got some stand-out features that I'm not quite seeing in the sim version yet.

Her eyes look GREAT. You've matched their assymetry really well. (with the lazy eye slider?)

I think her mouth's philtrum is looking a tiny bit too thin/narrow.

The biggest thing is her stand-out cheek bones in real life. They need to be more pronounced. They looked closer in post #32, but at the same time she did look "gaunt" as was mentioned.

I think her nasolabial crease needs to be increased even further (on many sims this slider can be too severe, but Shannen's area is quite defined). I think some good contouring blush could make a huge difference here - I would try out several.

I dont know much about the show or actress, but I think your sim looks just like the source pics, literally the only thing I can see as a suggestion would be to make the nose thinner.

As for the gaunt cheekbone problem, I would go back to whatever setting you had for her cheeks in post #32 and move the cheekbone shape slider a little, i can't remember whether it's right or left, sorry.

Audrey, you are amazing, I used to be obsessed with Charmed, and will probably hide away somewhere and try and make Cole because I used to have a crush on him.
I agree with Phycorax about the chin.
I assume you have a lot of sliders, but I have a list here (http://prawlerism.blogspot.co.uk/2012/07/sliders.html) of all I have found.
Also, have you checked out HystericalParoxysm's tutorial (http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=432920) which shows some good ways to compare your sim with Prue, because I think you are literally down to minor details that need to be changed.

finally, I've found a sim (http://www.thesimsresource.com/downloads/details/category/sims3-sims-celebrity-female/title/shannen-doherty/id/1012695/) of Shannen Doherty from her Beverly Hills 90210 days, which I think looks quite close. Maybe you could download and look at the slider position for a little help.

I did submit them for upload but the moderator(s) outright rejected them. I personally think they are pretty good likenesses and below is the feedback I got, along with some suggestions for presentation (which I am really not good at).

"While you've got a really great project going on, these sims appear to need a bit more work before they are ready. The last (Paige) is, by far, the best of the bunch and has a very good resemblance to the character. You've done a great job with her. The middle two are very close and with some slight tweaking, mostly in the nose/nose bridge area, would be just as good as the last. The first one (Shannon) however needs quite a bit of work. She has a slight likeness with the character but not enough to be an immediate recognition. Her nose and mouth have a good resemblance going on but her cheeks and jaw line definitely need more sculpting to get Shannon's signature look;. Changing the shape of the cheekbone slider might be one step in the right direction."

I have tweaked the cheekbones till I am sick and can't get it to look like Shannon's. If anyone would like me to send them the zip file and the custom content, then PM me.

I hate to say it Audrey, but it might be better to try a new facial template and work from that. I've noticed that some templates just don't allow me to achieve the same look as others, regardless of how often I tweak the sliders. I really don't want you to give up though. You've done a great job. Maybe, now that you've had some time away, you can come back to project with fresh eyes?

Hey, I think the problem might be more to do with shading. Have you tried Arisuka's Face Contour (http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=416152) and a different skin?

Sims3updates (http://sims3updates.net/cas.php?genetics=1&skintones=1) and MySims3blog (http://mysims3blog.blogspot.co.uk/search/label/Skin%20Tones) both have good lists of skins (and everything else)

A skin with more detail around the eyes would be better (the eyes themselves are perfect)
Also the mouth, maybe its just the pic of Shannen, but it looks like lower lip needs to be wider and thinner.

The nose looks a little long to me and needs slightly less nose tip/bulb mass. Then, move the mouth up a bit so there is less space between nose and mouth. Chin needs to be a bit more square/pronounced. As mentioned before, try increasing the nasolabial crease. Can we see her with her hair away from the jaw, please? I can't tell for sure if the jaw shape is close or not. Great work!
