After giving up The Sims 3 in favour of schooling for a while, I recently reinstalled the base game through to Pets on my Windows Vista desktop. I went to play it again, and when I went to change my sim's basics, nothing would work! I couldn't edit their name, they were stuck as a female, I couldn't change their skintone, and none of the sliders were working. In fact, the new Late Night sliders weren't appearing at all. I could change everything else, and "edit" skintone, gender, and age through the preset sims, but the Basics tab wasn't working at all. It worked fine for Pets, however.
In game, I noticed my sims couldn't interact with their pets unless the pet initiated the interaction! Not only that, my horses couldn't use any of the training equipment at all, even though it stated they could.
After looking everywhere for help (which always pointed to conflicting CC or out-dated mods, and since I had absolutely no CC it helped none), I found a few mods that I was hoping might fix an issue I assumed was simply an EA mess-up in the latest patch; DebugEnabler and Overwatch. My sims can now select their pets and engage in any interactions that had a "be ....." equivelant from their pets. However, every time I try and have my sims direct, for example, their dog to go hunting, or I direct them to mount or unsaddle their horse, my sims go through the animations but nothing happens. Also, whenever I select my pets, I get a notification that at least 6 different scripting errors have occured, that the mods now notify me of.
Has anyone had this issue without CC? And if so...is there any way to fix it? :(
