View Full Version : WCIF Sims 1 Mods/CC?

My laptop has just about stopped being able to run The Sims 3 and Skyrim (the only games I own) so to fill my time in weekends I've been thinking of reinstalling my Sims 1 Complete Collection until I get a new, more suitable pc for gaming.
So I was wondering if there were ever any mods and Custom Content (skins, hair, outfits, gameplay tweaks etc) made for it as, seeing it was made so long ago, it doesn't exactly have as much customization as Sims 3.
I have looked on TSR's Sims 1 downloads but all the images appear to be broken/missing :S
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated thanks :)
Edit: Thanks to whoever moved this thread, I tried to find a Sims 1 sub forum but oddly I didn't the first time :S :faceslap:

I've noticed the same thing about TSR and sometimes for some of the Sims 2. There are LOTS of places with content still. Here are a few of my favorite sites:
http://sims1.aroundthesims3.com/ - Awesome objects as well as clothes, heads, etc...
http://moonsims.asi.org/minthasgarden/sims1/index.html - Ikabod - Misc.
http://www.asi.org/moonsims/dh-sims-site/ - Dincer Hepguler - THE BEST furniture maker!
http://www.nighttimesims.no/ - Odd, fun gothy stuff
http://www.thaliatook.com/MS/jws/jws.html ----This guy extracted Maxis meshes, expanded them to all body types and did some great recolors.
http://simsantiquites.com/bureau3.htm - beautiful antiques
http://www.simblesseoblige.com/ - group forums with lots of resources available
http://www.simprover.com/ - lots of content
http://www.woobsha.com/ - this one is in the process of moving to groups

There were tons and tons of mods and cc made for The Sims 1, probably a lot more than Sims 3 just because it's been around so long. I still have a few Sims 1 sites bookmarked which are still active, hope they'll be some help:
Around the Sims http://sims1.aroundthesims3.com/index.html
Simlogical http://www.drealm.info/simlogical/sl/downloadpages/downloads.htm
Sim Wardrobe http://simwardrobe.com/ (but note that unfortunately all of the Sims 1 object links seem to be dead - the other Sims 1 stuff seems intact)
Sim Freaks http://www.simfreaks.com/home.shtml
Magic Sims http://simcrafters.parsimonious.org/~magicsims/index.htm
Secret Society of Woobsha http://www.woobsha.com/index.html
Hopefully there will be more posters along with more links, to get you sorted out with lots of good stuff. I still dip into Sims 1 from time to time myself - although the graphics and the camera control sort of kills it for me, it's still very playable and has so much charm and quirky humour.

Thanks for the links! I'll be sure to check them out :D
As for content, well anything to be honest. Skins, Hair, Outfits etc. Any mods/animations/etc would be great too but I don't know if there are any out there. I've heard of one that allows teen sims to be made, it appears to have disappeared though :/
Thanks EsmeraldaF! Yeah I've missed some stuff from it too like the many dance styles :) :bunny:

I thought there was some teen content on TSR. Basically, it was children dressed to look like teenagers.
I just happened on this site while checking things out for Sims 2. It doesn't have teen stuff, but I wanted to add it to your collection. I still have more links but wasn't sure if there was something you were looking for specifically. A lot of the Sims 2 sites still offer some Sims 1 items.

Yes, Persimmon Grove! Love her stuff! And Dincer Hepguler! I wish he would have stuck around with making Sims furniture- his Sims 1 stuff is gorgeous, and I like to think that if he were still making things his Sims 2 stuff would be as beautiful as his Sims 1 things.
Bunny Wuffles Architectural Supplies for Sims (http://sas.woobsha.com/) is one of the neatest Sims 1 sites I've ever seen. Check out her Cultural Heritage Foundation section.... She takes a subject like the Royal Botanic Gardens (but I think my favorite might be her Brunel theme) and designs beautiful lots and build items from it. You can feel her enthusiasm jump off the page! I wish she were still making stuff for Sims 1 and Sims 2....
edit: make sure your virus software is active before checking out C&C Enterprises (http://cambouisfr.free.fr/) because AVG detected a couple things on the main page. But this is IMO probably the best site- other than Woobsha- for Sims 1 hacks and hacked objects. Their gardening system is so much more fun than Maxis's, and it also gives you the ability to grow and sell flowers! They also have fridges with a lot of well-made meal options. IMO a must-have is their No More Jealousy patch. It tones the creepy possesiveness way down- without it, sims would get jealous if their crush or love even paid a compliment to another sim!
edit #2: Simslice (http://simslice.com/downloads.htm) has some free content (I thought I remembered him changing it to all free... he really should, though :p) and some of it is good (other stuff is pretty stupid). But what you really want is the patches, and it looks like those are all free. He has buy/build enablers, more filling vendor food, skill building on non-home lots, and more.
edit #3: CTO Sims (http://ctoccasions.com/) has tons of Sims 1 content, and lots of stuff from sites that aren't there anymore. IIRC they also have a section in the forums where you can get pay stuff for free. Unfortunately you have to register to view or download anything, but it's free and so worth it!

Wow, just wow. Thanks so much for these links guys! I never imagined there would be so many, or so many people would be interested!
My pc was totally reset and The Sims 3 works again but I'm going to lay off of Skyrim and definitely play TS1 now! :D
If anyone has any more links keep them coming, it would be awesome to have a thread with a big, if not complete, list of TS1 CC sites for all those who are still interested in TS1 - as some wise soul above me said ;D (if it does come to that I could rename the thread to suit it unless a mod somewhere picks up on it...*hinthint* ;) )
I still have more links but wasn't sure if there was something you were looking for specifically.
Everything, just everything ;) Looks like you helpful folks are still fulfilling that! Man I cannot wait to play TS1 soon :giggler: Thank you you incredibly helpful MTS people :D

I have not been downloading skins, heads, clothes, or Mods. However I got a Bunch of nice furniture sets off of TSR:
http://www.thesimsresource.com/downloads/browse/category/sims1-sets/free/1/
I saw the page with blank pics/thimbnails, but found if you click around a bit, perhaps try a different search word or words, there was all these furniture sets, and they're very nice in game. Have also recently downloaded from simfreaks, parsimonious ( alot of their stuff is a bit too ostentatious for my taste! BUT some of it is really cool!), and aroundthesims.
Edit: Oh and HERE is something everyone should have. Remember "The Sims File Cop" ? ! I can't believe I found this but I love it and it works:

Does anyone know where I might find Living It Up's hacked litter box? I remember it took care of the hidden junk left behind by visiting strays and from playing fetch with dogs. When the site closed, I believe some folks put the stuff into yahoo groups. An internet search isn't pulling up anything useful so far.
I toyed with the idea of starting a WCIF thread, but this is a WCIF thread, so....
*Edit* Now I'm not sure if this was Living It Up's or C & C's. I found a litter box at C& C. I'm giving that one a try for now.*
*Update: Living it up is definitely the source for the litter box that I was seeking. Not sure if the one from C&C does all that the LIU box did."

I think I might have the one you're looking for.
It says this in the read-me:
This self-cleaning litterbox cleans up after dogs in an unusual way.
After six days in a house, I discovered that there were five hundred instances of the PetSocialDog object. These invisible objects are created whenever dogs interact with people or with other pets.
MM allows many objects on a lot, but these extra objects do take up some memory and do slow down the process of entering a house; and after a while, they should cause the house to crash.
liugnolitterbox deletes them all one a day. Doing so may abort a current interaction with no harm done.
In addition to this special function, liugnolitterbox is an improved version of the litterbox, and is self-cleaning.
Oddly enough, cats clean up after themselves and do not leave PetSocialCat objects lying around.

Yes, that's the one. I found it on my other computer and moved it. I had hoped to download it since that seems easier than moving files around between computers. I wish there was a link to leave for others since it's a worthwhile hack to have to keep the game running better.
Have you seen a hacked dresser that allows your Sims to get buyables for free and from the convenience of their homes?
Madoria's also has the hacked C&C fridge: http://www.madoria.com/cvcfridge.php

C&C did that very neat, 1-tile, pile of folded clothing that functioned as a wardrobe and could be placed on most surfaces. They made a version that included buyable clothing too.
There were 3 different looks for it. 1 a neutral colored folded clothing pile, 1 a colored folded clothing pile, and 1 was a bundle of messy laundry. They all function the same and the buyable clothes are free.
I did have a clothing rail and a couple of wardrobes that allowed buyable clothing but I can't remember off hand who made them. I loved the neatness of the C&C ones and used those more often than not.
C&C's read-me's all state that stuff can be posted anywhere, so if you can't find it with the links you have for the C&C items, I'll post it here, just let me know if you want it uploaded :)
Unless you were thinking of a specific dresser?
I'm sure there was a computer that allowed buyable clothing at home too, but I might be thinking of TS2.
'Another f***ing sim site' had the 'downtown wardrobe at home' mod.

Thanks for all the tips! I thought I saw those pile of clothes at the C& C yahoo groups site, but didn't realize they included buyables. I'll check that out as well as the site you mentioned at the end.
I don't think anyone has added this site yet. It has great add-on programs that fix and improve the game such as a fix for the frozen in-the-traffic bartender Waylon who stops traffic in Studio Town:

Yes, that's the one. I found it on my other computer and moved it. I had hoped to download it since that seems easier than moving files around between computers. I wish there was a link to leave for others since it's a worthwhile hack to have to keep the game running better.
Actually, the site it's on was posted earlier. Funny thing is, you posted it. :P Liugno is in the name of many of Gnohmon's downloads. I recognize it because I've been downloading quite a few of Gnohmon's stuff.
And this site (http://biedersims.de/index_eng.html) has some magic related stuff, as well as a vampire mod.
All I have other than stuff that's already been listed. Now I need to go CC shopping.. Well, shortly anyways.

Anyway to download the old official Maxis stuff? Patches? Etc?

I thought this was answered somewhere already, but here you go.....http://ts1depot.hfguide.net/getcoolstuffarchive.html for "official downloads". Currently, I can't find the patches although I've stumbled on them before. You might try a search for the specific patch you want/need, because each expansion patched the one before.

Hey, I remember I used to have this mod that allowed sims to "play in bed" in any double bed. Does anyone know where I can find it?

No...I really thought you had to have the right kind of bed because of the animations associated with it....

I'd imagine somewhere like Openlea or 8th Deadly Sim, but I agree with Ver De Terre, the animation is attached to the item.

Hi guys!
Do you know any mod/cheat/hacked objects to make easier love relashionship?
VerDeTerre

Not exactly, although a love relationship is easier to achieve if you start with a friendship, in fact, it's ridiculously easy in The Sims. Become friends and start flirting or take the friend out to dinner and/or drinks and you have a new love interest.
Friendship is easier when interests are similar. There are many hacked objects to influence interests if you don't want to take the time to read the magazines from Downtown. One is the "free the magic" object found here (http://sims1downloads.webs.com/freethemagicv2.htm) .
The game itself provides ways to cheat your way to love by use of the magic genie lamp or the concoction station. I once had a scientist who never got to know any of his neighbors, but who managed all of his promotions because he collected so many love interests through the love potion that he created at the concoction station. There are also magic spells available to witches and warlocks that augment friendship and make Sims fall in love.
For instant romance there's this, the mail order spouse (http://simcrafters.parsimonious.org/~magicsims/misc/misc/index.htm) , which is a real hoot because it delivers a spouse in a box. It's halfway down the page.

Hi VerDeTerre! Thank u for posting and for your explanation. I know how relationships work in TS1, but this time I'm definely unable to make Michael Bachelor falling in love o.o the concoction station never gives me the red potion (only one time, but it broke down just before drink the potion) and the genie always burn o flood the house -.-'' it's so annoying.
Anyway, I already have the "Free the magic" but I don't have known that interests influenced sims relations :)
And thank u for "the mail order spose", that page contains many useful objects!
Thank u again :)

I don't play TS1 but I see this site recommended a lot elsewhere but not mentioned in the thread. Has a lot of content from dead and pay sites, sort of a combination booty/graveyard for TS1.

You beat me to it, I was coming back to add that one to my post.
CTO Sims has the program that will turn a child into a teen then adult. Plus many more mods and programs.

Michael Bachelor is a bit weird and it is hard to make him fall in love. Changing his interests should help, but I feel his astrological sign is also part of the problem. You might want to "design" a Sim mate for him in your neighborhood. The concoction station does break regularly. I've always just purchased new ones or had my Sim fix it and keep playing until I get the potion I want. The way to play the Genie is to either install fire alarms everywhere or simply to exit the game without saving if the result was negative. Good luck with Michael! I admit that I often replace him altogether.

Thank u everybody for your help :)
@VerDeTerre: in the end I managed to get him married to one of my Sims :) but I had to use the "Free the magic" (that is ABSOLUTELY fantastic!) and give her two spells :P anyway, thanks again :)

I haven't played TS1 in ages, but if anyone is looking for stuff made to be used with Sim Logical's apt system for Sims 1, this yahoo group is devoted to that:

Did anyone ever make a mod for gaining skill points on a community lot? I've discovered it's the mod I miss most of all for Sims 1.
Edited to avoid double posting: I just found this handy little program for unzipping files to the right locations--http://matthewgkeller.com/projects/simfilemaid/index1.html
