:howdy: Hello all! I have the latest CEP installed, and although I now see several new colours of objects in the game... there are still flashing blue and colourless objects. Is there anything I can do about this?
P.S. - I did search for "flashing blue" but the only hit on the forum was a tutorial for object makers. I'm not a maker, just a user. Can anyone please help? :)

Ihave this problem when i dont have the clean installer and net framework installed. Also i got a new graphics card. This all worked for me. I hope you can fix. It can be frustrating! You find cool new stuff or the recolor you have been searching for and then flashing blue! Good luck!

Hmmm. Thanks very much for your help! I appreciate it.
Unfortunately, I sniffed around my computer and I do have .net installed. Also, I use the Clean Installer often. :-/ I'll run it again to double-check.
Oh dear I hope it's not my graphics card. I just got this computer! *wails*
[Edit] Oh, wow! A link automatically popped up under Clean Installer, above. That rocks!

Are they older objects? I believe some things made before University was released, or made with an older versions of CEP, must be updated before they will show up. You might check the sites you downloaded them from to see if there is a newer version.

Please don't think me dense or anything, but is a CEP?

Treetopteresa:
It's that program that lets you get more colours and versions into the game. Apparently when Maxis shipped the game, you couldn't modify the objects very well (?) so the CEP (color e-something package) is sort of a hack to make the game recognize additional versions of stuff.
Widwidricsas:
Hmm, that might very well be. Some of these items I just downloaded yesterday, but maybe the makers used the old CEP and haven't updated. Argh. :-S
Oh well! Thanks for the advice. :)

Some objects conflict with others and that will make them show up as a flashing blue object. To see if this is the reason you take everything out of your downloads folder and leave just the object that is flashing blue in and see if it still shows up blue. If it doesn't then you put everything back in the downloads folder one at a time and find the one that it is conflicting with.

I just delete stuff from the buy menu as I don't need stuff that bad.
