Probably one of the funniest, interesting things I've had happen to me yet! There I was with my Mose family having a "homework" party on the front lawn amongst the cockroaches and Amelie Dallas comes waddling by very very pregnant, next thing I know she is having her baby! I thought, oh weird, I've never had this happen before.. my next thought was oh crud, she better take the baby with her. Well, she had Pippin, placed him on the sidewalk, and waddled away like she was still pregnant! So I went to the Dallas lot and she was no longer pregnant but had the memory of having Pippin etc. but a few minutes later she suddenly got hugely pregnant! But, she wasn't pregnant according to all of those various ways of telling, but when she went to bed that night her stomach went back to normal and so did her walk, finally! But I really wanted the baby on his proper lot since the Mose family consists of mostly teenage females who have no time for boys under the age of "teen". So I went back to the Mose's and locked the baby in a room (mwuahaha) until the social worker came and picked him up, then went to the Dallas's and had them adopt a baby and sure enough, they now have a memory of having Pippin, welcoming Pippin into the family, adopting Pippin and welcoming him into the family, again! *bows* and that is the end of my story. Oh yes, has this EVER happened to ANYONE before?!?! I'd be very interested to hear about it! :D

Wow! I have often seen one of my heavily pregnant sims walk by or visit another lot I am playing, but did not know it was possible for the baby to be born on this site as sims are only supposed to age or progress in any life stage when you are actively playing them...

Question: Did you get the option to name the baby when it was born? and was there any stage during this that you could control the mother?

The only strange thing that happened to me regarding a baby or todler was one mother who got into the pool car and went to work with her todler on her hip. Thankfully she returned home at the end of the day with the baby still on her hip. The nanny was very confused! The poor todler was exhausted and starving, but all worked out well in the end.

Hope your family live happily ever after.

My pregnant sims walk by other people's lots all the time.
I've had one very pregnant lady autonomously invite herself over and start eating out the fridge!
But I didn't know they could give birth outside their home lot.
Thanks for the warning!

I had it happen once. I had to wait until the baby grew up and could move out on its own and then moved it in with its parents. Then realized that had I just quit without saving I could have gone in and had her have the baby in her own lot. But that never comes to mind until AFTER its too late!

This has happend to me, kind of. Nina Had her baby on one of my sims lots, but i did it deliberately, i used 'mind control mirror' *think thats what its called* and selected her, knowing full well it was time for the baby to be born. So she had the kid and left her there. She 2 had the memory of having her daughter.

Yes, it happened to me 2 (I was trying to do the whole single father, missing mother thing) I used the Inseminator to make the pregnant mother (Juliette Capp) selectable on the Monty lot and she was heavily pregnant, she gave birth to the boy and just..... left when she was told to........ without the baby. (Romeo was cheating, wanted to make him pay) The kid is recognised as part of both families, it's just like he was born the usual way, except he lives with daddy.
I used hacks to do this, but I don't know if it's possible without that...
The thing is, when I played her again, she wasn't pregnant. I think it was because I let her leave properly. She had the memory and all..... she went to college after that and everything is fine.....
Romeo will be joining her shortly :P

you can use a teleporter like the stargate or painting to teleport the baby to its home lot.

Wondering if the Summoner that is part of InSIMenator would work as well, on the parent's lot...

I had something stranger happen. One of my Romance sims got the maid pregnant. (Risky WooHoo with LizzLove's Autonomous Waterbed of Love) and she showed up pregnant for a bit and then had her baby on the lot. She left her there. The bad thing was I couldn't make my Simmies pick up the baby. They would go to it and then the command icon would just vanish, like they weren't able.

Finally whatever screwy was going on with the coding fixed itself, because when the baby got hungry one of them just went over to it and got it a bottle. Weird.

So like.....If i got a townie pregnant, someone who is not selectable to me...she will still get bigger even though i am not playing her? Ive never gotten a townie pregnant unless they were moved in because i didnt think they would ever have the baby.

I had a house party once and when everyone left I discovered someone had left their baby behind. My sims couldn't interact with the baby; so it just laid there and stank. The social worker never came for it either. Finally had to delete the baby. (visiting Sims could pick it up and they would give it a bottle)??

Where do I find this stargate?
Could someone please post the link?

Inge Jones's teleporter plus can be used to get the kid to the parents and add it to the family. The you can use the Inseminator Family Tree to add the kid to the family tree if it's not there (mine was, but I'm not sure if it happens for everyone)

Why didn't you just move Amelie in with the moses and get her to move out again but taking the baby with her?

Wow all the replies! I'm on my way out the door for college entrance exams but just to answer a few questions: Yes I could name the baby! And no, I was never able to control the Mom. What would've been funnier is if I hadn't noticed her come and suddenly I had an option to name a baby! =P Anyhoo I think I've got some screenshots that I'll try and post later... gotta go!

I have used the teleporter shrub to move infants to their father's home when they were from an affair. I had a story line with the Kohmei(sp?) guy in pleasantview. He is quite the player. He had a child with Bruty and Tosha Go. He's a mayor so I figured if he wanted custody of his children then who was going to stop him. I jsut teleported them over and picked move in. It was kind of weird with the Go twins because he had no relationship score with them so it was a couple of days into toddlerhood before he had the option of teaching them to walk or anything. I let the mother's have supervised visitation by teleporting them in.lol

Once I was throwing a party at one of my sim's house so I invited his brother and pregnant wife over. She didn't give birth, but she did get "more pregnant."

Yes, this happened with Brandi. I was using the sitter thing (i have since deleted everything from my downloads folder, a decision i may regret, but it was for several good reasons), and she had her baby on another lot. Then i went back to her place, and she was still pregant. Weird...

cool but i thought isnt there birth controllers for non residents like there are birth controllers for downtown. My Vicnd Curious came round to Ophelia's house and dumped a baby there. She wouldnt grow, have her nappy changed or be fed. So I had to add her to the family... lol! Abandonation! That would be cool though!

One time I invited a very pregnant sim to the home of another sim and she gave birth there. When asked to leave she just left the baby. I wasn't too thrilled about that so I exited without saving and now make sure not to invite a sim who is very pregnant! LOL! Also, if a pregnant sim just shows up to visit (which has happened several times to me) I talk to her outside for a short while then ask her to leave. Don't want the babies born in the wrong home. Funny the game does that though when you can't take a pregnant sim to a community lot and once I had a pregnant sim have a formal sim wedding and her hubby went on the honeymoon without her. LOL!!!

If a baby is born on the wrong lot, he should still have the right family tree. So after teleporting him to his rightful lot to his parents - using the teleporter plus, not the normal teleporter or the stargate, so that you can actually move him in as a resident - nothing else should need doing
