Hey everyone. This is the first in what will *hopefully* be a fairly large and well-covered series. Basically, I got tired of all of the huge mansions and modern looking houses floating around out there, so I decided to take a step back in time and build some of the old houses that you might find aging gracefully in a suburb somewhere. My goal is to make an entire collection of houses that represent a broad and sweeping range of American architecture, depicted as realistically as possible. Oh yeah, and the houses will be normal sized, just like they would be in real life. This particular house is a Queen Anne, a style of architecture made popular around the end of the 19th century, without actually having a whole lot to do with Queen Anne herself. The houses were generally covered in all sorts of ornate doodads and gewgaws, rounded towers, and wraparound porches. As an added bonus, the inside of this house has the layout of a foursquare--meaning that the layout is extremely efficient, and the rooms are all fairly spacious.
