As an "OMG, I have 100,000 downloads!" thank-you gift kind of thing, I wanted to upload a house numbering project that was new and repositoried and so had a bunch of different colors/patterns and styles and sizes and stuff without being excessively cumbersome. I wanted to, really! But...I have to figure out how to do it first. And unfortunately the first tutorials I looked at utterly confounded me with SimPE stuff that I didn't remotely understand. So...uh...it might take me until I have 300,000 downloads to create them, but I am determined to do so. However, I didn't want this occasion to go unmarked, so...I figured this was better than nothing. So, thank you all for downloading my stuff 100,000 times. I truly can't believe it. When I first decided to upload stuff, I thought I'd get maybe a thousand downloads, but...not. Honestly, I am humbled and honored that people like the stuff I make.

But enough of that! Onward! Since I can't even create, much less upload, the project that I want to make yet, we do this instead: I use these house numbers often, and I wanted more of them. (I knew I had over 700 fonts on my computer for a reason...) I now have hundreds of recolors of those suckers. So I thought I'd toss these basic-but-nice brass ones up here.

Now, this could potentially put 60 recolors of these numbers into your Downloads folder. Even though they are very small-in-size files (Between 4KB and 11KB each), unless you're flipping insane like me, you probably don't want all 60 of them. So, I uploaded each style that I picked out separately. Pick and choose amongst them as you will. Here are in-game pics of all the individual numbers, so you know in advance what each numeral in a given set looks like:

And here are Poor Richard style numbers on a house, so that you can get an idea of the relative size of the numbers.
All of the styles are the same size, so you could conceivably mix and match them, if you don't like the look of all the numbers in a single set. They're fairly large in size, larger than real-life numbers would be, but if they were smaller you wouldn't be able to see them unless you zoomed in really close. Also, unlike the original numbers, these have a tweensy bit of shadow on them, just enough to make them stand out better if you put them on a similarly-colored or heavily-patterned wall. To make multi-digit house numbers or to, say, stick 'em on a column instead of a wall, use "move objects on" and turn off grid-snapping. And if you have Apartment Life, these are also shiftable, so you can move individual numbers up and down, too, like I did in the pic above. You can also stick 'em on fenceposts or taller wall-type fences that way.

For these to work, you will need the mesh. The mesh isn't included in any of the downloads. So, follow the linky above or on the Download tab if you don't already have the original numbers in your game. (If you don't want to keep all of the original numbers, the mesh file is the silver 0 of the original set; its file name is simply "numbers." All the others in the original download are recolors, as are these, and obviously you don't have to have all the original recolors for these new ones to work.) They can be hard to spot in the Buy Mode catalog, but they are in Decorative/Miscellaneous. You will see a thumbnail of the original silver 0, and they cost $10, so it should be toward the front of the catalog in that section unless you have a buttload of cheap stuff already in there.

And that be it! Now go forth, brave young Simmer, and number thy houses!

PS: Like I said, I have a lot more of these lurking in my Downloads folder. I've made them in all sorts of colors and patterns, from basic to quite freaky (Tie-dye house numbers, anyone?) So, if you might have a request-y kind of thing, I may have already made it in some way. So just ask. Seriously. I don't usually bite, but if I do, rest assured that I've had my rabies shot.
