New Mesh
This is a Maxis Recolour which means that it is a recolour of an item that already exists in your game. Please check the Expansion pack requirements to see which game pack it recolours.
This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Expansion pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS2 - check the sidebar.
This is a new mesh recolour, and means that you will need to download the particular mesh itself in order for this to show up in your game. See the Meshes Needed section or read the text for more information.
This is a cute little retro 1950s-style rocket ship for your Sci-Fi or eccentric sims to use as their daily transport. It functions as a regular car but flies around rather than travelling on the road. It's inspired by the smooth, sleek rocket ships featured in Sci-Fi movies of the 1950s, but with a bit of cuteness and zaniness thrown in for The Sims purposes.
I started working on this before Pets came out, so I've made two versions for download: a PETS version for those who have Pets or have patched their game to version 1.26 or later, and a NO PETS version for those who have not bought Pets or who have not patched to 1.26 or later. Please be sure to download the correct version - if you use the wrong version for your game, it won't work correctly. To use it, you place a car parking space at your sim's home, then place the rocket ship on the parking space the same way you would place a car, and the ship will hover in the air over the parking space (at its normal flying height as seen in the screenshots). You click on the ship to use it, it will appear at the roadside and your sims will teleport into and out of it. It's found in the Buy Mode screen under Vehicles/Cars and is a real snip at 4000 simoleons. Looks cute gliding around town: It's also very easy to find your vehicle in crowded public parking lots: It has three recolourable areas - the main body, the legs, and the nosecone and tail which both use the same colour channel so they always match. It's all a blank texture so you can use your imagination to produce all sorts of interesting effects, such as below where we have 1) a macho-looking ship with flamepaint nose and tail, camo body and grey metal legs, 2) a sort of Steampunk or grungy ship with different rusty metals for each recolour area, and 3) just silly: Or you could just do the whole ship in matte black and have a little stealth ship, or do the body and nosecone/tail all in one retro print such as the night pics below for extra retro goodness. It could also be fun to do it up in cute custom retro sci-fi patterns such as allison731's 'Babyish Universe' (http://www.modthesims.info/d/455640 ). See the tiling screenshot within the below thumbnails for more recolouring detail. Please note that I had a hard time trying to UV map the legs as they are such an odd shape, and some small portions of the legs will stretch any patterns you use, as you can see in the tiled pics. It's best to keep the legs a solid colour - some patterns will look OK-ish but it's up to you as to how much stretching you can live with. For night flying, you get a strip of glowing lights along the underbelly and a rocket power glow from within the tail: Thanks for looking, hope you'll find this a bit of fun for your Sci-Fi simmies! (For Sims 2 players, there is now a Sims 2 version here: http://www.modthesims.info/d/497951 ) INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS: Unzip the .zip file and copy the .package file to your Mods\Packages folder. If you don't have a Mods\Packages folder and/or don't know how to install .package files, please see full instructions here: http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php...g_Package_Files Polygon Counts: 2528 Additional Credits: Made with s3pe, S3OC and the marvellous Texture Tweaker. Used EA's base game toy rocket ship mesh as a template for my mesh. 202 people have said thanks to Esmeralda for this download.
