It's been a while since I uploaded a modern house. I'm pleased with the result here! This house is made after the “Open Opinion” house in Elegant Homes Magazine (Fall, 2005).


I have included photos though they are cut up and in a poor state (I used them for a school project). The actual house is located near the beach in California. The conceit of this home combines inside and outside in a seamless flow. Large glass windows and open living areas create a fun, yet effortless feel.



Pay No Attention to the Man Behind the Curtain
Some notes on construction.
In order to create some effects I used the One More Slot Please by granthes quite heavily. You will need this for the furnishings to translate effectively.
The pillows in the main room caused me some pains... I felt it necessary for the harmony of the room to include these pops of color. Sadly, it means there is a pile of pillows spilling into the garage. I've tried to hide them as much as possible (please forgive me)
For the fireplace in the living room (and the master bedroom for that matter) I used reversed bookshelves to create the built-out wall. I do not recommend using the fireplace for this reason.
