Rejection of Lina Darong recreation

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have been working on recreating Sims that can not be brought back to life. I had uploaded a lot of them to the Sims2 Exchange then they were deleted a few weeks later. I thought I would share them here.

These are not just some "eyball" "close enough" Sims. I have spent a LOT of time on each Sim. Jocasta Bachelor was my first Sim. She took about six hours before I was happy with the results.

I tried to upload Lina Darong and was rejected for no in game pictures. I felt I did not need an in game pic because I included a 256x256 Maxis snap shot and a 256 x 256 snap shop of my version using the same pose. This allowes people to compare the accuracy of my recreation.

I tried to upload Lina again with two ingame pictures and again she was rejected. Here is the response.

"Dear darthd,

Thank you for your submission of "Lina Darong recreation" in the Other area at MTS2. Unfortunately, the thread has not been approved at this time.
The main reason for this was: The admin notes: does not meet mts2 standards.

This is a system generated PM, therefore replies will not be read. But please follow the guidelines above, make changes as appropriate, double check again, and then try resubmitting.

Our creator guidelines forum, should you need help on quality of items and submission details, is available here: http://www.modthesims2.com/forumdisplay.php?f=338. Please also read the Site News article at http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=130336 for more clarification.

Kind regards,
MTS2 Staff "

What is the problem? "Does not meet mts2 standards"? I cannot change anything on her or she will not be accurate. I cannot add custom content because she would not be accurate. There are a few Sims that will need custom hair because Maxis did not include their hair in the game.

I know there are people that would be interested in quality recreations of lost Sims. I have more waiting to upload and I am working on even more.

The First Pic you see is the original Maxis picture. The second pic is My Sim in the same pose. The others are just ingame pictures.

darthd, I cannot answer your question, but when you ask a question, you should wait patiently for a reply. Even if it takes a week.

I don't moderate downloads, I'll try and follow up and see. It is an unusual project.

OK 2 things
1- you need a close up in game of your sims face next to the simpe image of the old one- theres nothing to distinguish one form another or know which you worked on
2- youd probably do very well with this if you collaborated them all into a set. One on one they dont come across as anything special, however together the "ressurected sims" could be a very nice set of sims.

It's a bit hard to know which shot is which, but if you made a collage picture of them you could label them. You did an excellent job of matching that sim, I can't tell the maxis shot from your creation. I imagine you could create one graphic with the maxis shot (labelled), your pic (labelled), and an in game closeup of the face all on one.

If you offer them as a set, you can do individual downloads for the individual sims all in one message if you wish - after you have the first zip (or rar) and screenshot in, you can click 'upload' and then add another zip and screenshot, until you have however many you made in the set uploaded.

They are labled if you click on them or mouse over. I would like to offer them as a set but I wanted to first see what other people thought.

I have found an easy way to install these characters in game so they replace the originals. Then you can just resurect them.

Some are a LOT harder to recreate than others. Lina was actually one of the easiest. I just picked her at random to post.

darthd, most people are not going to mouseover carefully to figure things out, and also that means 3-4 pics per sim vs. 1 pic per sim. That is why I suggested you build a single pic that has the pics on it and labels and such. Some of my downloads are like that, if my description is not clear. Also, one clearly labelled pic per sim will make it much easier for folks to understand what is in the set, and pick and choose the sims they want.

How is this?

Well, that's what I had in mind. Simple and clear and demonstrates the attention to detail you put into recreating the face. I keep looking and I can't tell them apart!
So then the only other thing to do is group them somehow and offer several in a single post (as Lyric suggested) and it'll be good to go.

I'd present it with 1 pic per person, and you might need to rar/zip them individually also, but you can upload more than one rar - just use manage attachments to upload the first one, and then add another. Then people can download the sim(s) they most want. :) It's an amazing project.
