serious help with downloading?! [MAC USER]

I'm pretty lost. Well, not completely, but lost enough.

Basically, my downloads are not working. I download objects from this site onto my desktop, I unzip it using "StuffIt" I then drag it & drop it into my Sims Downloads folder. (it's the correct folder) The icons look like grayish rectangles or something, with some green typing in the upper left hand corner. The extension is ".package"

Before, I was using "Zipeg" and well, it didn't work to well. my files showed up as those white, blank icon things.

I basically trashed my entire downloads folder to start over.

Before, I had custom content automatically from some houses I had downloaded (sims2package extensions work fine) and the enable content came up. Now, when I start sims with my newly downloaded content, nothing comes up and it's not in the buy mode, not anywhere.

wierd enough, when I had the older custom content from lot downloads they worked, i think they had those blank white page icon things i'm talking about. someone give me some sense! lol.

The icon means nothing. Its just a visual of what program the OS is associating with the file. Mac does not know what to associate with it so, sometimes it has the white doc and sometimes it has the green/gray with exec. As long as its a .package file it will work.

As to cc dialog box? That is something you set in your options in game, whether you want that to show. I don't know if you've reinstalled your game or what not, but you need to make sure in options its is set to show cc. I have the show cc dialog box set to show with a new install long enough to make sure the yes stays checked and that it shows. You will need to re start after enabling cc, sometimes more than once.

You didn't mention your EP's, but some cc may not show if you don't have the correct EP's. More than likely it crashes, but some I've had just not show. And did the stuff you downloaded require a separate download for the mesh?

They apply for Mac as well as PC; you just need to adjust the Windows terminology for the Mac equivalent.

thanks... I put everything from my trash bin back xD

i'll make sure it's set. I have only the Season EP, I'm pretty on/off sims. I play it for about a week, get sick of it, then don't touch it for a month. That's why I don't invest alot in the EP's. I have it filtered for this site though, so I don't think that's the problem.
