MTS2 is becoming Mod The Sims, and the other sites' names are changing too. That's kinda the point of this whole thing. ;)

I'm sorry, I do know that, I just keep forgetting when I'm in Illustrator. Haha!

I'mSimalicious!, while I do like the graphics, I wouldn't allow those in the contest without getting specific approval from blendy since you are directly using part of thier work. I hope you understand.

At first I was going to do a purple plumbob, but the rules stated that we're not allowed to. So I guess I did as original as I could. I suggest you try it with a dark background. If you need me to change the background color for you, please ask through pms. If you want me to make a gif, please ask me. Those Gifs are examples. Another Example:

OMG! You all are so talented! I sat here and just stared at all of them for a long time. In the end I realized my eye was drawn to Blendy's and Black Orchid... Both look really modern and updated and both bring something a little different.

I think best logos are clean, simple and minimal.
For mts, i begin thinking at a symbol, because I don't like gears symbol..it's too much "work in progress" and too much "operative stuff" (sorry for my english)
Gears seems to say "we are technical worker", BUT what I want it to say is "we are creative" or "here you can find creative ideas"
So, I thought at at the symbol of "creation" and "idea" par excellence, that is the bulb, the light.

Bulb is perfect also because we can use it as plumbob is used in game.
Bulb over a head, and over everything can mean that this thing is about mts.
users with bulb over head, are mts user, and so on.
And this symbol can be used as an icon everywhere.
Here in mts we have a bulb over head instead of a plumbob :)

I post my work in progress and my preference above, so you can see different positions. I can also change the font and colours, but first it was important to explain the concept.
Concept summary:
- symbol of "idea" and "creativity"
- unique symbol near text(clean and minimal) (like as TS, that has the plumbob symbol, unique, near text)
- symbol that can be used like plumbob, but with more meanings (creativity, ideas, new, mind, etc)
May I point out that it doesn't say "Different" to me? It's not because I think mine is better, I'm just suggesting that you try something that doesn't look like everyone else's.

I think the "ring" you're talking about is meant to be part of a mignifying glass, the clear seperation of the handel to the lens part makes it unobvious but i think it is a mignifying glass :) I also love those designs!

I believe yaaravanesse meant for the icon for the Wiki to be a magnifying glass. I'm just guessing. Maybe add something a little reflective-looking in it's head to it doesn't get confused for rings? :)

Hi everyone.
My Inkscape skills are still limited and so the icon idea I present today are of course quite amateurish in comparison to all your impressive and creative entries! Please consider it as a first draft :sheep:, it's just for MTS, if I manage to get better at making such things and if you all and especially Delphy see some potential in it I'll develop logos for the other network members, too.
Nonetheless I want to show you my idea as it is a bit different than most of the ideas shown here before.
I'd be glad to hear some comments or if it's a little inspiration for some of the others.

That is much better Yaar :D And i can see the potential Jon, i get what you're trying to do and i imagine that the bit of graphics coming from the pencil will be extremely hard to create! :P When going for your next draft try using the mid colour of all the shades as the line colour and make it slightly thicker ;)

I just uploaded Sims 2 to my Windows partition on my Mac. NOW I'm ready to Mod Sims 2, just on the eve of the release of Sims 3. With all that I have read here and elsewhere this past week, I know that Sims 2 will be around for a very long time.

I just want to thank everyone and give kudos to all the extremely creative people who make Sims 2 play/creation far more interesting!

Really nice to hear, after I heard otherwise just days ago. I don't plan on getting 3, because 2 is huge. I've only scratched at a few extra neighborhoods, and all of my custom families are in Pleasantview. How [ ] is that? I spent most of my time building and editing designs, but also searching for art deco period items online. Mts2 has been a real help for that. So thanks for hosting, and choosing to go forward into the upcoming game.

As one who won't be purchasing Sims 3 until I can get them used ;)

Sadly I don't think that will be happening besides the ever so loved Securom being on Sims 3 EA is making registration MANDATORY so I hear, Since EA views everything from renting to buying used games to be some form of piracy. If this truly is the case I won't be buying it at all. It's sad the game has so much potential but I fear EA's policies scare away many more people than they attract.

I am very glad that MTS will still be offering Sims 2 DL's because I have met so many great creators here and even had the honor of helping some of them out with Binning ETC it would be a horrible loss for the gaming community if MTS completely stopped making Sims 2 content available. I know our community has experienced many arguments over Pay sites etc and that some of us have put up walls separating the pirates etc. But we need to let that go and remember why we are all here in one place.

We LOVE the Sims!! :rofl:

I hope that when Sims 3 comes out perhaps some things will change in the community and that we can be 1 community again instead of being divided over such stupid things. To Noukie We love and respect you for all you've done to try and bring simmers back together by offering help to paysite owners who want to go free. It's a disturbing thing to me as a member of many different gaming communities to see how immature people can be. Please remember this is a GAME and it's supposed to be fun not frustrating.

Holy Crap LovingDiva that's an insane amount of work you put in there. I think those designs are excellent!

Hmmm I really thought I would grow up by the time Sims 3 came out - apparently I was wrong - bring it orrrn!

I hope the start of the TS3 era at MTS2 is as fun as the start of the TS2 era was, - especially while everyone was mucking in to figure out how things worked..when we were young....wheeee!

The global lookin remind the original Maxi's logo, but when you watch it well, it's not really the same ^^
I think it's necessary for a notorious site like MTS to keep some lines from the original Sims design. Also, it's necessary to have a simple, purified, and easy to remind logo.

Okay, decided to put mine in, too! Just wanted to see how far my photoshop skills could go! I saved these as .png's because I wanted it to match any background that the moderators have all ready had on the websites. To be honest, after the MTS Logo, I got lazy on the rest! There's a lot of great artists out here! Love all of the designs. Even if mine don't get picked, I needed to touch up on designing and creating graphic designs. Thanks for the opportunity, MTS!

Autiep03, I like the idea of simplicity but whenever I see or hear the letters MS my brain automatically goes to multiple sclerosis...so maybe having the T in your first logo would be better? Just a suggestion.

dang it, my paint.net and GIMP keep crashing!!! i think it was that plugin i downloaded.. and MS paint won't support transparency... this looks like i'll have to make a white background, not transparent!! No, wait, i think I will send myself my logos and use another computer..

I believe, you can't use the actual plumb bob, from the Sims 2 or Sims 3, nor can you make a plumb bob with the same sides/faces as the those also. Anything else is fine (like diamond shapes, or a diamond with more or less sides/faces than the Sims plumb bob.)

okalani, a few things:

Firstly, animated logos are NOT allowed in any way shape or form.

Secondly, I think your designs are way too simplistic and doesn't really convey the feeling of the sites. I just really don't think they would work here.

yaaravanesse, I like those but I'd like to see them in the other formats first - and I'm also confused as to why the wiki has rings :P

I wasn't criticising anything, I was pointing out that it didn't seem different enough. And I didn't see any rule about the logo's being cartoonish. And besides, it's hard to create 3D images with Paint Program. And BTW Animated doesn't necessarily mean cartoonish. It's not that I'm jealous, it's just that I don't see how it's was any different than anyone else's Sims 2 sites. :|

Well.. Here's my work.
I hope Black0rchid has no problem with the fact that I used a light bulb for MTS logo.. If shee has, I will gladly edit/remove my entry.
I'm satisfied with the results, though I may work a little more on Sims Commuty banners. I take any suggestions :)

I made two colors for community, one to fit the current theme and other because Delphy said that green is the color used for the community site ^^

Edit: I was checking other entries and I have a couple of questions:
1) About the 60x60 logos: Are they suppoused to be the same big logos with the only difference being the size? The ones I made are 500x500 but when you resize to 60x60 they look as good as the big versions. They look good right?
2) Is it possible that someone's designs are choosen, but for a single site you choose someone else's?

PS: Again, I would like to know what you think of my work :)

Actually I just checked the EA site, The Sims 3 PC will ship to store shelves worldwide starting June 2, 2009.At least that's what they are saying.

I recall reading a thread a year or so ago that there were no plans for an MTS3 and that the MTS3 domain name was already taken, I just couldn't imagine playing my game without Mod the Sims. I'm sooo happy right now and this over anything else has me thinking that I may just buy the game after all.

I guess she/he means that with no money people won't buy Sims 3. I completely disagree since there are so much posts and stuff about how much simmers are waiting for it. And of course it will be empty at the beggining as it just came out, just like sims 2 was empty when it first came out.

I am not a creator, but I love all of the Sims 2 creations. My major hope is that someone fantastic will figure out how we can use all Sims 2 created objects in the new Sims 3 game! ! ! If that can be done and will be done, then I will buy Sims 3. Otherwise, I plan to continue with Sims 2.

Hi everybody, I haven't been here for 1,5 years cause I quit Sims2 back then...
But I'm looking forward to Sims3 and am SO happy that I will be able to visit my old favorite sims site again!!

I've been reading this whole post, and I agree, you guys really should consider opening a Sims 1 section! I still play, and its hard to find up and running sites, other than TSR.

Boy this is good news. :bunny: When I heard the SIMS3 was going to be released on June 2, I pre-ordered it so I could be the first on my block to have it, but then I thought, what about the simgoodys on modthesims2 and my prayers were answered! Thanks, Delphy!!! :rofl:

sehana: Thats becuase modthesims.info is actually modthesims2.com - it doesn't login becuase the cookie domain still thinks it's here, not there. When the site name switches over, though, the logins will work.

I'm so glad we'll still have Sims 2 on the site! I have no intention of abandoning my Sims 1 or Sims 2 once I have Sims 3. I'll just have to divide my free time between them! Of course, like any new toy, TS3 will dominate my attention for awhile. I love this site and would be bummed out big time if it ended!

I have long been a member of MTS 2 and I am so happy to hear that you will be incorporating the new Sims3 game into your site. I just received my collector's edition today via UPS and have it all installed and went to the new Sims 3 community and registered there. Got this really cool car to download for free. But I will say that the custom content there leaves a lot to be desired and that is why I am so happy to hear you will include Sims3 at this site. Thank you, thank you, thank you. You people are the best at what you do which makes people like me (uncreative) able to have lots of fun with the Sims :)

pozzetzui: Absolutely not. We don't have any news on the front page, or any modding forums setup discussing the game, nor do we have any tools out, or any downloads whatsoever... This site is totally absolutely void of anything Sims 3 related completely. Won't find anything here, oh no.

SIMS 3

Hi please help-

I made a lot and when I try exit it, and go to Edit Town, it says I can't because there's somebody dying on it.There was a woman before
but she died, but I sold her tombstone.
Her boyfriend also died, but I sold his tombstone, too.
Now there's this guy there who's single and he had 2 kids with the girl before she died. Now he has a new girl, who just had a baby. I tried moving her in but it said I couldn't because there were too many people on the lot, and currently there are only 3 people. What could be the problem??
