Secret Lot discovery

Ok, I discovered a secret lot called "Pagoda in the Shadows" in the "Takemizu Village", as soon as I arrived a message came up saying the sim here has a challenge for me & if I find out what he wants during my visit he will give me a reward. There's only 1 sim on the lot, the "Wise Old Man", I go up & bow to him & everything but I don't know what does he want...I tried grooming the Zen Garden & fishing with him, I even caught a fish & gave it to him as a present! Till that nothing changed, but suprisingly after like 5 minutes he said that I seem to have it in me to behold the legend or something like that & he started to tell a chinese story to my sim...is that the reward? Does anyone know what this wise dude wants?

You have to have tea with him for him to tell you a dragon legend that you can tell to other Sims.

So that's it? I don't have to groom the Zen Garden or anything? Just tea with him & the reward is telling me the dragon legend?

When you tell others the legend, the Ninja appears and can teach you how to teleport.
Thats what happened for me.

The ninja was already there before i knew about the legend although i couldnt really speak with him because he kept dissapearing away from me.
What i did is i served him tea to notice me , then he starts doing some tai chi or something sometime. Join him in doing it. Fast forward the time to three then once you speed up , hell say something about how since you can do tai chi now or soemthing your worthy for the story! :)

No link between hearing the legend and the Ninja, as far as I know. I saw the Ninja and learned to teleport almost immediately on arrival the first time. Hadn't found the map for the Wise Man at that point though, so I never got to visit the secret lot.

Julie , just keep going on the tour guides places. It will eventually be like you have found the secret place :P or something :)

I have my sims bow to him to greet him, and then do tai chi - and he tells them :)

My sims have had tea with him and bowed to him, but there is no sign of the old man then asking them to do tai chi or anything, and no option for them to ask him to do it.

Am I missing something?

Just spend time with him. Fish (if you have seasons), do tai chi, bow and drink tea..
Eventually he'll say you've earned the legend.

I had them spend ages with him and nothing - then i had a hunch.

I had sent TWO sims at the same time (husband and wife) and they both spent ages with him. I tried again just sending ONE of them back on his own, and after just making tea the old man started telling him the legend.

It appeared to me that it does not work if more than one Sim is visting him.

Ok - not that then. Maybe they just needed to spend longer than they did the first time.

tea is necessary. it worked for me with a couple just talking to him and doing the "tell about travels" option under "talk"
