"Hello sweetheart, I'm your grandma" Susan Logan gave Jessica a warm hug, when she got the call from Lana she booked a flight immediately to Pleasantview, Laura had neglected to even mention she had given birth, Susan knew she was pregnant but didn't know when the baby was born, if Lana hadn't called she may not have met baby Jessica till she was a toddler....

"Lana, she is a complete sweety" Susan yelled to Lana who was in the kitchen checking on something in the oven...

"I know mom, she is" Lana murmered to herself as she took a layer cake from the oven..

Lana could hear Jessica start to fuss in the other room and almost instinctively went to get her...

"Honey, its fine I got her, I will take her up to her crib for her nap..you don't worry about a thing now that I am here" and with that Susan gently took Jessica up to the guest room with her...

Lana breathed a sigh of relief, maybe having mom here is a good thing she thought...Lana didn't know what her mother would do when she called her and calling her was no easy task, Lana always considered herself a strong, independent type but this was a situation she needed some help in...Lana grabbed a slice of cake and slumped in the dinning chair...Her thoughts turned once again to James, who was flying back home tomorrow evening..what was he going to think of all of this..god this sucks, I hate this...Lana rubbed her temples, the last 3 days had been so stressful....

Lana could hear her mother coming down the stairs and sat up straight, still trying to hide her emotions....

"Wow, darling, having a piece of cake are we?" Susan glanced down at her daughter shoveling cake into her mouth...

"There is a slice for you too mom, help yourself...."

"I think I will stick with coffee Lana..its better for my figure anyway"

Lana rolled her eyes and shoved another piece into her mouth "There is a fresh pot on the counter, help yourself...

"Lana, why the sudden urge to bake a cake anyway...I hope you didn't do this for me?" Susan asked, eyeing her daughter as she sat down at the kitchen table...

"No mom..I have a tendency to bake when I am stressed and the smell relaxes me" Lana sat at the table feeling like a twelve year old all over again...suddenly feeling defeated Lana sat back and looked at her mother....

"Mom, I'm so sorry I had to call you at the last moment, I know how busy you and daddy are..I just really can't handle this one myself...its just too crazy, I'm still in shock".. Lana fought to hold back tears...

"Honey, please! you call me whenever you need something! you and your sister have a tendency to not involve me in your lives...besides all I was doing was sittting around the house thinking of redecorating, since I retired from teaching I don't have much to do...your father is busy as ever and is hardly at home" Susan sighed and looked her her oldest daughter.. "Lana I would never expect you to handle this...what your sister has done is unexcusable, I really have no words, except she deserves a kick in the ass as far as I am concerned"

Lana looked at her mother, she knew when she was irritated, her mother always kept her cool and hid alot of emotion but Lana could tell this was different.....

"Mom, what are we going to do? I have missed 3 days of work so far, my job is on the line right now, James is coming home tomorrow, I have no idea how I will explain this to him...its obvious Laura isn't coming back, she left no address, no phone, nothing....she just left mom, she just left!

"Well Lana, I'll tell you what we are going to do, we are going to raise this baby, I appreciate the room you set up for me but I have given this some thought and maybe I will stay here for a bit, and help raise Jessica...I also think we need to contact the father, do we know anything about him?"

"Lana gulped...uhm...yes, Laura actually left his phone number in her email...mom, I'm not sure if he has actually met Jessica yet...this could be ackward"

"Nonsense Lana, this has to happen" Susan finished her coffee and stood up to clean her cup...

"Mom, I am so thankful you are here" Lana grabbed the cake and shoved it into the fridge....

"Come here honey" Susan grabbed Lana and stood her in front if her "Its going to be okay, we can handle this, your father will understand...as long as Jessica has love around her and can grow up well then thats what matters..."

"I don't understand what your sister was thinking" Susan continued "I did have you girls when I was very young but then again I married young..Laura has no intention of getting pregnant and doing this alone must have freaked her out"

"mom, you have got to be kidding me!" Lana stared at her mom "You had better not be making excuses for her!

"No Lana, I'm not but we don't know what is going through Laura's head right now, but we have to focus on Jessica right now and move forward...you have a wedding to plan and a busy career to focus on"

Lana looked at her mom and bit her lip..."yeah, I do, I have alot going on right now...James and I haven't even set a wedding date..we are both so busy"

"Lana, I will stay here for a few days with Jessica, but why don't I rent a townhouse and stay awhile, I'll call your father this evening..I'm sure he will understand.."

Lana was about to object when she heard a loud howl coming from the upstairs bedroom...

"I got her honey, you don't worry about a thing" Susan Logan turned on her heel and headed for the stairs " I love babies Lana, this is a wonderful thing for me, I get to spend time with my first grandchild"

Lana smiled after her mom..."Thanks mom, I really" Lana was cut off by her cellphone ringing..damn, I bet its work again....Lana looked at the number on the ID....who..oh its James! Lana answered before her voicemail kicked in....

"Hey hon!..I'm so happy to hear your voice..." Lana paused "Why? whats going on?"

I like Lana's mom, she seems kinda spunky.
Lana looks a bit different but nice different.
The cliff hanger, with a call from James bad, very bad of you but i'm still ur #1 fan.

When i first saw Lana's mum i thought 'gee Lana looks weird' I love how similar they look, although Susan has almost a bitchy look to her whereas Lana's look is softer :)

Lana's mom is actually Lana tweaked a bit...the old version of Lana, I changed her eyebrows to more older style...somewhat bitchy type...lol.....Susan is very spunkey and dosen't easily take no for an answer..and can be a snob......but she loves her girls:).....I promise to get on the next update...Baby is sleeping better so that gives me more time at night to play a bit.....sorry for the pokeyness:(.....more drama to come and some big changes...you may all be surprised....

Lana kicked the trash compactor door shut, damn thing isn't working again, I don't know why I even bother...Lana grabbed the
trash and headed for the front door, it had been 2 days since she talked to James..he had called her to tell her that he was to be held
over for a few days..this she didn't know if it was by choice or not, he was very vague about it, so he wasn't coming home till the
end of the week...but yet she pretended that it didn't bother her, that his career was first priority...but she felt they were growing
apart daily...with the lack of communication and distance it was becoming more bothersome than anything....

till the end of the week now...his flight back got postponed..besides its a harmless dinner" Lana tried to hide her disapointment
with James and push it to the back of her mind...

"Well in that case I would love to have dinner with you Lana.." Alex turned and closed the hatch on the truck, too bad for James he
laughed under his breath, Lana was a catch...

"Actually , I have an idea..how bout I make dinner for you? just show me to a washroom first...

"Okay" Lana smiled and Laughed "down the hall, first door on the right, I'll meet you in the kitchen.... Lana followed Alex into the
house, feeling like a schoolgirl with a new crush....

Lana watched Alex make himself at home in her kitchen as he rummaged through the fridge grabbing the salmon and herbs she had bought the day before "Hey, do you have some Dill " Alex called over his shoulder as he looked through Lana's spice rack...

Lana grabbed an unmarked container and handed it to Alex.. "Here ya go, fresh from the garden...would you like some wine Alex?" Lana asked grabbing a bottle of red table wine and two wine goblets from the cupboard...

"Yeah, thanks..would love some" Alex winked at Lana and started to prepare the salmon...

"Soo, Alex..you seem to know your way around a kitchen" Lana looked over his should as he expertly prepared the fish.....

Alex laughed "Yeah, I have spent some time in kitchens, getting myself through college..and I did a short stint in a culinary program for awhile, you seem surprised Lana..did you think I made a living building fences and hauling equipment for my friends band?" Alex laughed again and shot Lana a wide grin...
Lana giggled "Well no, I mean..I don't know Alex, I don't know you" Lana took her wine and sat down at the table, feeling a bit more relaxed now that she had a few sips of wine..and the fact that a hot guy was cooking her dinner wasn't exackly a bad thing.....

Alex started preparing the zucchini and put the salmon in the broiler... "I actually got a job in my field back home so I am headed out of here..and I miss the ocean, I ride every morning and I am getting the call again to be back at the beach, so this works out perfectly for me" ALex grabbed two plates and served up the steaming salmon and zucchini........

"Thanks, this is very nice! I am used to doing the cooking..this is a treat Alex" Lana smiled and poured herself and Alex another glass of wine ...

"No problem, like I said I enjoy cooking...I just don't do it often..."

"So you said you got a job in your field, what do you do, or rather whats your field? Lana asked curious..she really didn't know much about him....

"I have a masters in oceanography..obviously I love the ocean so this is an opportunity I couldn't turn down"......

Lana listened to Alex talk about his home and his friends, there was so much more to him than she had thought, but then again she hadn't really been thinking of him to begin with, except when he was around working on her fence...

"Well, I should be going, I told Simon we would hit the bars, he wants to hang before I take off" Alex picked up his plate and loaded it into the dishwasher...

Lana bit her lip...she really didn't want Alex to leave, didn't want to be by herself that evening..

"Why don't you stay, we still have this bottle to finish, and the night is young..I don't mind the company really..." Lana grabbed the wine and headed to the livingroom praying Alex would follow her....

After lighting the fireplace Lana sat down with her glass and gazed into the fire...trying to not think about James..she was starting to feel like he was avoiding the trip back home, maybe he is regretting asking me to mary him Lana thought to herself...

Alex sat down and looked at Lana "penny for your thoughts" he looked at her and poured another glass of wine.....

Before she knew what was happening Lana was pouring her heart out about her sister and her baby neice and her mother showing up...her mother had actually left the day before with Jessica, she rented a townhouse with two bedrooms, telling Lana that she would take care of Jessica so Lana could focus on her career and upcoming wedding, how James seemed to be avoiding her.....two hours later ALex and Lana knew a great deal about one another...

"Lana, for what its worth, I think James is being an idiot, I understand he has his work....but to leave his woman like that and..I don't know, coming from another male point of view it seems strange to me" Alex looked at Lana she seemed so sad...he had been attracted to her the moment he met her, but she was a taken woman and he really tried to respect that....he didn't know how much longer he could hold out though.....and now with him leaving....

Lana smiled at Alex "thanks, thats sweet of you..I'm sorry for throwing my stress at you...I think I've had too much to drink..." Lana balanced herself as she stood up...

"Lana, it was a pleasure getting to know you but I think it would be better if I leave now" ALex swayed as he stood to leave...grabbing Lana's shoulder...

Before she knew what was happening Alex grabbed her and gave her a tight embrace...

Then she suggested that they have some drinks...i was like, humm, Lana got an itch that sure needs some scratching lol.
I got the shiver me timbers when he whispered that naughty little idea to her in the last line. Its getting hot in here. *fans self*
I am still a James fan, but i have to give it to Alex, he's not into wasting time.
You can turn this into a one night stand, since he's leaving an all, blame it on the wine, hey its what James did. Blank that line out of ur head that was a joke.

Lana almost melted in Alex's embrace, she could feel his tight chest and stomach muscles and felt completely secure and safe in his strong arms.....

"Lana, you seem lonely and sad, I have developed feelings for you" Alex whispered in Lana's ear " I just want to be with you tonight, before I go"

Lana could feel Alex's body melting into hers and his hot breath in her ear, sending a warmth to her abdomen and legs....

"Alex, no..this can't happen..I'm attracted to you as well..but I love James and I am engaged..." Lana pushed Alex away gently and looked him in the eye "I want you to stay because you have had a lot to drink, I don't want you driving, you can sleep on the couch"

"'m sorry Lana, I got ahead of myself, lost in the moment I guess, and you are right, too much wine...the couch will be great, thanks for your hospitality"

"Thanks Alex, we had a nice time tonight though didn't we? thanks for making me dinner and the company, I relly needed someone to talk to" Lana looked at Alex hopefully, not wanting to damage is ego too much....

Early the next morning Lana padded downstairs, eyeing Oliver who was sitting on the counter...with a peek into the livingroom she noticed Alex was gone and saw a note on the dinning table....

Lana glanced down at the note on the table suddenly remembering last night.....somewhow Alex was in her bedroom, they had both had too much wine, Lana remembered going upstairs alone...Alex must have come up later that night....

Lana wasn't sure exactly how it happened but they both were clawing at one another like wild animals and before she knew it their clothes were strewn around the room....making their way to the bed in a fever that she hadn't felt wih James before.....

Don't reinstall, just take the sims2 folder out and throw the latest disk in. It will create a new folder...you'll just have to pop your downloads folder back in and CEP etc.
I recently installed all my games into my new computer. It took almost 4 hours.
