"I'm the one you almost bored to death," she said. "But you can call me Leigh."
Daniel was horrified at the words that spilled from his sister's mouth after the girl informed Delainee of her name, and he thought that he felt his heart lurch to a stop, "Oh! I remember you! You're that girl who had the really frizzy hair and braces and glasses last year, right? Wow! You had a great summer, didn't you? No wonder I didn't recognize you! I'm sorry for boring you...you always struck me as someone that would like poetry, though." His eyes circled to look at Leigh, who didn't seem particularly happy at being compared to who was clearly the nerd sitting a couple of rows over from her. Delainee hadn't meant any harm by what she had said, but Daniel knew she'd just jumped headfirst into hot water.
"Ah! Don't mind her," Daniel piped up as he finally found 'Where The Sidewalk Ends' in the back of the book. Unfortunately it was on an even numbered page. The thought made him shift uncomfortably. "She jokes around like that all of the time." He grimaced as he looked towards Nemo, who also looked quite uncomfortable. While Delainee could be blind, and a little thick when it came to polite communication (for even if she had been that particular nerd, she shouldn't have said anything so blatantly rude) she wasn't stupid, and she immediately realized that she'd confused her with the other girl.
Delainee Rose laughed then, and looked up at Leigh with an apologetic stare, "I'm sorry. I must have thought you said Leah...I knew you didn't look anything like her, but I didn't want to insult you...or anything..." Daniel shot her an incredulous stare. She didn't want to insult her, and yet she'd gone on about how frizzy her hair had been, ticking off all the nerdiest qualities one could possibly have? He sighed, and turned forward yet again, drumming his fingers across the desk to a beat he'd heard on the radio just that morning.
"Oh NEMO," Delainee suddenly cried, and tossed her torso over the side of the desk, her hands reaching out towards her friend. "I know what I'm going to be! I'm going to be a Greek goddess! I might be Artemis, goddess of the moon and the hunt!" she beamed, proud of her new realization. "Oh, Eeric," she tapped the oddly quiet boy on the back. "Are you going to the Halloween dance?"

This time when Chad passed her the note, he didn't just brush against her leg. He kept his hand there, waiting for the note. Natalia's eyes quickly scanned the paper.
Nat
I'm sure the outfit you wear will look hot whatever it is: its on you isnt it! I think someone would want you to wear something...revealing. Or maybe not. Some people say less is more: I hate those people what would you suggest I wore?
Chad (GGG2G)
Natalia picked up her pink pen and wrote back:
Chad (or do you prefer GGG2G?)
You are certainly the charmer, aren't you? I was thinking that we could wear matching burkas. What do you think?
Nat
Natalia grabbed Chad's hand which was still resting on her thigh and picked up her pen. She drew a heart on his palm and wrote her phone number on it. Then she put the note in his hand and closed his finers around it.

Chad smiled cheekily as Natalia picked up his hand and wrote her number on it next to a heart, watching the back of her blonde head as she did so. Once she'd finished she put the note in his hand and closed his fingers around it, alerting him that another note was done. He quickly opened it and read it, another grin forming on his face as he finished it.
Chad (or do you prefer GGG2G?)
You are certainly the charmer, aren't you? I was thinking that we could wear matching burkas. What do you think?
Nat
Chad picked up Natalia's pink pen and wrote his reply with that instead
Nat
Only if yours is see-through. Thanks for your number. I'll put it with the rest ;) you think you'd wanna hang out with me sometime? Actually I'm thinking of saying I'm going for a bathroom break, fancy coming with me for a make out?! And I think I prefer Chad, makes me look less big headed that way :P
-Chad
He chuckled, dropped the pen back on her desk and then placed the note in her hand, letting his fingers lace through hers.

"I'm sorry. I must have thought you said Leah...I knew you didn't look anything like her, but I didn't want to insult you...or anything..." Delainee Rose said to Leigh, quickly trying to cover up her mistake. Now all of the oddballs were looking uneasy. She decided to abandon Operation: Make Friend with Bad-Ass, and return to her loving friends she already had.
"Oh NEMO," Delainee suddenly cried, and tossed her torso over the side of the desk, her hands reaching out towards her friend, slightly startling Nemo. "I know what I'm going to be! I'm going to be a Greek goddess! I might be Artemis, goddess of the moon and the hunt!" How now! Now Nemo had someone that he could go with that had a sort of, matching theme. Yay! He replied in a dreamy, trance-like tone. "Then I shall accompany thy maiden as Posiden, God of Seas!" He laughed and smiled at her. "Nah, just kidding. What I'm going as is a super secret!" He said, winking and putting his index finger in front of his lips. Then she turned to Eeric, who was kind of ignoring the situation. "Oh, Eeric, Are you going to the Halloween dance?" Nemo's heart sank as he awaited his answer.

Natalia watched from the corner of her eye as Chad took her pink pen and wrote a response. When he was done, he gently tossed the pen back to her desk, where it landed with a tap. She put out her hand to receive the note. When Chad put the note in her hand, he momentarily interwined his fingers with hers.
Nat

Natalia read the note, then took out her pen and wrote under Chad's[b] message. She raised her perfectly manicured hand.
"[b]Mrs.Summers? May I please go to the ladies room?" She bounced a little bit in her seat, acting like she really had to go.
"If you must," said the teacher. Natalia rose from her seat, and when she turned around she tossed the note nonchalantly onto Chad's desk. She grinned briefly at him, then walked out of the room.
Chad it is, then. Meet me in the hallway.

Noticing a another note on her desk, Izabel quickly opened it and read Chad's rather sloppy handwriting, ignoring the girl who had just walked in.
Iz
You in nothing at all - just what I was thinking! I think I'm gunna have to say Mmm as clearly it's all your pen writes Seeing as everything I suggest you 'pass on' how about you decide. Wanna hang out? Your pick babe
-Chad
Grabbing her pink pen, she began her note but suddenly the girl sat down in front of her and started talking. Flashing her a smile, Izabel replied to her show comment, "Thanks! I love your bracelet! It's like so retro." Izabel arched an eyebrow as she examined the rest of the girl. "I'm Izabel."
Soon, the girl went up and Izabel continued with the note.
Chad,
Meet me in the Projection room ontop of the auditorium
right after school.
-Izabel
She quickly threw the note and saw Natalia sit down. "Okay, I don't do this usually. But do you want to sit with a couple of girls and me for lunch the rest of the week?"

Chad watched Natalia walk out of the room and quickly read the note she'd dropped on his desk. He was about to request to leave when Izabel chucked a note at him. He opened it and read it hungrily.
Chad,
Meet me in the Projection room ontop of the auditorium
right after school.
-Izabel
He snatched up his pen and wrote quickly, eager to go and join Natalia in the hallway as soon as possible. Still Izabel was a total ten and writing to her needed Chad's attention.
Iz
Wouldn't miss it. Looking forward to it already
-Chad
"Actually miss I need to go to the bathroom too," he said quickly dropping the note on Izabel's desk, and then standing up and leaving the room before Mrs Summers had a chance to reply.
Once out of the room and out of sight he grinned at Natalia and immediately pulled her towards him, showing off his infamous kissing skills.
"Wow," he breathed once he'd let her go

Natalia was leaning against the wall right outside the door, one patent shoe propped behind the other. She crossed her arms and examined her nails. She heard the door open and before she could even uncross her arms all the way, Chad had pinned Natalia against the wall. Mmm, not too shabby.
Chad took his lips off of hers so they could breath. "Wow," he said, half under his breath.
Natalia smiled flirtatiously and put her finger in his chest. She said, "Mmm, you are being very kind to the new girl. How long did you practice welcoming me?"

"Mmm, you are being very kind to the new girl. How long did you practice welcoming me?" Natalia asked with a flirtatious smile.
“Hmm, long enough to know that I’m good at it,” Chad replied, grinning mischievously back at Natalia.
He laughed and pulled her back to his lips again, running his hand smoothly down her back and across the waistband of her skirt teasingly, his mouth working moves that were better than the ones on the football field, but only marginally. Once again he pulled away and smiled.
“You’re certainly ‘nice’ to a guy you met ten minutes ago,” Chad teased, playing with the fingers of her left hand

“Hmm, long enough to know that I’m good at it,” Chad answered her question.
He laughed then pulled her back so that their lips met again. While they kissed, Chad ran his fingers up and down Natalia's back. She squirmed a bit; she was very ticklish. She was grateful when he decided to move his hands to her waistband instead. There was nothing to worry about there.
They pulled away and Chad said, “You’re certainly ‘nice’ to a guy you met ten minutes ago.” He was playing with Natalia's hand, stroking her fingers.
"As I said before, you're very charming. What's a girl to do? I'm sure no one could resist your godliness," she kissed his neck then went back to talking, quietly and close to his ear. "Besides, I'm very lonely. You're my first friend here."
Natalia pulled away from Chad so that they were only touching hands. "What would your girlfriend think about you being out here with me? She might not be too happy." She grinned, and with her spare hand ruffled Chad's hair.

Chad smiled and kissed Natalia's neck too, little butterfly kisses down to her collarbone,
"We can't have you being lonely now can we," he replied, again tickling her back as she squirmed the first time, "and charming is my middle name," he added winking.
Natalia pulled away from Chad so that they were only touching hands. "What would your girlfriend think about you being out here with me? She might not be too happy." She grinned, and with her spare hand ruffled Chad's hair.
Chad snatched Natalia's hand from his head and wrapped it round his waist to pull her closer, and then leaned in very close to her ear,
"What girlfriend," he replied whispering and then very gently licked the outside of her ear.

Nathan sat back down after the class clapped and decided to start writing a note. He pulled out one of his notbooks and pulled out a piece of paper. he ripped it up and started to write on one of the pieces...
Hey,
Do you want to hang out after school or after all the club are finished? It's not a date or anything, just to get to know someone at school.

Suddenly I heard a piece of paper land on my desk. I looked up to see who threw it, a little confused why someone would send me a note. Opening it up, I started to read it.
Hey,
Do you want to hang out after school or after all the club are finished? It's not a date or anything, just to get to know someone at school.
Nathan
I looked at him, giving a confused look. Why would he want to hang out with me? I barely knew this guy. Was this some kind of joke? I took out a piece of paper and a pencil, and began writing a reply.
Nathan,
If you want to, we could hang out or something, it's up to you where we go though.
- Dana
I balled up the piece of paper and threw it over to his desk, still confused. I shook my head, not sure if I wanted to do it or not. I had planned on doing something with my brothers today, maybe go to a cafe or something, but I would have to cancel. And what would my dad think about this? He wouldn't be too happy about me hanging out with someone I didn't know all that well. I sighed, deciding to do it anyway. I looked over at him, giving him a slight smile as I turned my attention back to my notebook in front of me.

Nathan could tell be Dana's smile that she was confused and slightly weirded out. He really had no intention what-so-ever to get into her mouth or down her pants, it was only a friendship that he wanted from her.
Dana,
I know you're probably saying to yourself 'Wow this is weird' it's a just I'm one of the new kids and I really want to know my way around. Just to clear this up, I'm not a Chad type guy, I'm not looking to get in your mouth. I just want to get to know someone and learn my way around town.
Do you think Second Cup would be okay? There is one a block or two away.

Natalia was looking up at Chad's hair and twirling her fingers in it. He grabbed her hand and she moved her gaze to his handsome face. She was pulled closer, both arms wrapped around his waist. Chad leaned to whisper in her ear.
"What girlfriend?" he asked, then licked Natalia]s ear. She smiled and rested her head on his shoulder.
"Just checking," she said. She unwrapped her arms from his waist and stepped back. From a pocket in her skirt, she took out a tube of pink lipgloss. She put it on and rubbed her lips together. "How do I look?" Natalia grinned as she asked Chad. She patted her blonde hair and turned towards the door.
She wiggled her eyebrows at Chad and blew him a kiss, then disappeared through the doorway. When she entered, a boy with blond hair and dark streaks (or was it dark hair and blond streaks?) was reading a poem. It was one of Natalia's favorites, but she wouldn't ever admit it.
She sat down and took out her notebook, and a new pen. This one wrote in purple ink.
Izabel,
Am I still invited to sit with you? If I am I'd love to! What is your next class?
Natalia.
P.S. What do you think of this Chad?
She folded the paper and placed it on the desk behind her, Izabel's desk.

Chad kissed Natalia's neck as she pulled away from him and applied a layer of pink lipgloss to the lips he'd become quite accustomed with.
"How do I look?" she asked Chad grinning, patted her long blonde hair and walked towards the door. She raised her eyebrows, blew him a kiss and then went back into the classroom.
Chad was left alone in the hallway and slipped another breathmint into his mouth, still tasting the sweet flavor of Natalia's lipgloss and still felt her hot breath against his neck. Chuckling to himself, he fixed his hair and walked casually back into the classroom, grinning at Sophie, Izabel and Natalia as he made his way back to his seat.

I looked over as another balled up piece of paper landed on my desk. I held it in my hand and opened it up, wondering what he wrote inside:

Do you think Second Cup will be okay? There is one a block or two away.
Nathan
I nodded my head over towards him, glad that he wasn't just another Chad. I took out another piece of paper and began to write my reply.
Nathan,
I'm glad that you're not just another Chad, and yes, Second Cup would be okay. I'd be happy to help you learn your way around here.
Dana
I gave him another smile, but this time it was a genuine one. I was happy to find someone to talk to, this class was starting to get a little boring. I crumpled up my paper and threw it towards him, looking towards him. I was thinking about going over there to talk to him, after all, there wasn't much going on over here, but I stayed in my place, I wasn't that outgoing.

Nathan saw Dana turn around so he mouthed a 'thanks' to her. It was nice to have a friend at school. A lot of people are either a prep or a jock and to be honest it was actually very discusting.
He gave a second look at Dana wondered what she was really like. She is quiet but not superly over shy, she did accept the invitation. Maybe he wanted to date her or maybe he was just desperate for a friend but the though did cross his mind while other peoms were being read.

"Oh! I remember you!" Delainee exclaimed, a sudden look of recognition on her face. "You're that girl who had the really frizzy hair and braces and glasses last year, right? Wow! You had a great summer, didn't you? No wonder I didn't recognize you! I'm sorry for boring you... you always struck me as someone that would like poetry, though."
At first, Leigh's eyes widened, as if she just couldn't believe what she was hearing. Frizzy hair? Braces? Glasses? Oh, this girl was so asking for it.
Her eyes narrowed again, and her body flinched. It seemed she was almost about to fly from her seat to attack Delainee, but managed to restrain herself.
In the same instant, Daniel spoke urgently, a look of pure dread on his face.
"Ah! Don't mind her" he tried to excuse his sister. "She jokes around like that all of the time."
Leigh shot him a fierce glare, but almost immediately turned her gaze back to Delainee, who was now smiling apologetically.
"I'm sorry", she said. "I must have thought you said Leah... I knew you didn't look anything like her, but I didn't want to insult you... or anything..."
Leigh scowled slightly, but didn't say anything. The apology seemed honest enough, and quite frankly.. if looking at what Delainee had said from a different angle, she'd actually paid Leigh a compliment. 'Wow. You had a great summer'. In other words, she'd insinuated that Leigh looked good. At least compared to a nerd with glasses and frizzy hair.
A smirk came and went on Leigh's lips as she relaxed, her shoulders slouching once again as she leaned back in her seat.
"Thanks", she said in an obscure tone of voice.
But Delainee, who seemed to have the attention span of a two year old, had already turned to her friends, yapping something about greek goddesses.
Shrugging, Leigh glanced over at J.D. who was now fast asleep, and then let her eyes roam the class room once before before returning to the clock on the wall. 'Move, dammit!'

As Sophie sat eating her sour patch listing to the poems being read she heard one that caught her attention , Success Is Counted Sweetest. She smiled at the boy who had read it and thought someone who likes Dickinson I could get along with him easily. He gave her a worried glance and then moments later she saw him pass a note to Dana. Which made her think maybe he wasn't looking at me and quickly pulled her tote into her bag and pretended to search in the endless bag for something so she wouldn't have to make eye contact when he turned around to get the note from Dana.
While searching through her bag she found a purple squish ball and began to play with it becoming completely enthralled in it. Something vibrated in Sophie's bag and she dug into it searching for her sidekick. Once finding the thing she flipped it and read the message.
Sorry hun I gotta work the double shift tonight and I won't be able to pick you up from school.
-Loretta
After reading the message she sighed. Her mother who insisted on being called by her first name, trying to stay young, was ditching her to go off to some bar with some guy. She knew her mom all to well and knew perfectly well that she wasn't going to be working. Looking up to make sure the teacher wasn't looking she typed back.
Its ok mom I'll walk. See you tomorrow morning. Be safe.
- Love Sophie
Closing the phone she went back to the squish ball rolling it through her hands thinking about why her mom consistently dose this to her. Shes going to go out get wasted meet some guy who will treat her like crap insist that hes the best thing for her and head down her worn path once again.

Watching them leave one by one, Izabel was starting to get suspicious. She wasn't the one to get played. Getting out her nail file, she started giving herself a manicure while the rest of the geeks and dorks continued reciting their poems and whatever the hell they were doing.
Finally, they both entered back into the room and Izabel arched and eyebrow. She was going to leave Chad hanging in the projection room, thinking she was going to pop up sometimes possibly with condoms. Nope. Izabel wasn't going to get played. Yes Izabel liked boys but she hated guys like that. Forgiving the girl, she decided to stay away from Chad.
Hearing the note bounce on her desk, Izabel quickly grabbed her pen and unwrapped it.
Izabel,
Am I still invited to sit with you? If I am I'd love to! What is your next class?

Grabbing her pink inked pen, she began writing:
Natalia,
Sure, just stay away from Chad. He's bad news. He just wants to get into your pants. He's dated every girl, and then some more. If I were you and wanted to hang out with us, stop talking to him. Supposedly, he has herpes. Anyways, I think I have a free but I'm not sure.

The alarm clock ran with an irritating beeping noise. Opening his rested eyes, Seth noticed it was 6:30 and then closed his eyes which felt like a second. Finally opening his eyes, he rubbed quickly before eyeing the alarm clock. 7:45. "Shit." The curse word escaped his dry lips as he ran into the bathroom to get ready.
Quickly grabbing his blue toothbrush, Seth quickly put some toothpaste on the wet bristles and began brushing, still in his boxers. Looking at himself in the mirror, Seth examined his tan six pack. Spitting out the paste, he rinsed his mouth and grabbed a pair of jeans, a white abercrombie shirt, and his football jacket and ran out the door.
Getting into his mercedes benz, he was in school at no time. Passing through the hallways, Seth high-fived passerbyers and winked at girls. He was the John Tucker of his school, minus playing the girls. Seth was the varsity captain in football AND soccer. Grabbing his books from his locker, he ran to English class, slipping into it a seat, late.
Giving a nod to the rest of the jocks and his friends, he began looking for a poem. This hunky jock was really a closetnerd.

Eeric
Eeric was completely entertained by the small group of oddballs surrounding him. Delainee Rose was a ball of energy, sugar and spice and everything nice. Not really spice, but the rest still applied. The boy who had collided into her introduced himself as Nemo speaking in the third person. Odd, but tolerable.
"Eeric, nice to meet you, Nemo. Nemo's a great name. As is Delainee Rose," he added to the girl with a nod. "I remember because that's how you introduced yourself at the beginning of the year. If you asked to be called Delainee Rose, that's what you should be called." He smiled warmly, listening to the poetry being read by the rest of the class.
Once Nemo and Delainee Rose had read their poems, he offered them approving smiles.
"Wonderful choices," he stood, pulling his book out with slender hands and flipping open to the page he had been searching for. He stood, suddenly a pillar of strong posture, and began to read.
William Shakespeare, Sonnet 29
When, in disgrace with fortune and men's eyes,
I all alone beweep my outcast state,
And trouble deaf heaven with my bootless cries,
And look upon myself, and curse my fate,
Wishing me like to one more rich in hope,
Featured like him, like him with friends possessed,
Desiring this man's art and that man's scope,
With what I most enjoy contented least;
Yet in these thoughts myself almost despising,
Haply I think on thee—and then my state,
Like to the lark at break of day arising
From sullen earth, sings hymns at heaven's gate;
For thy sweet love rememb'red such wealth brings
That then I scorn to change my state with kings.

((I just dunno if everyone wants to sit through another class. xD But I'll let a few more people have their say and then we'll figure it out.
edit: forgot about Lila. ))
Lila breathed heavily. Why was she unable to find a poem that appealed to her? She had searched Shakespeare, Poe, Dickinson, Tennyson, all the greats. She'd even looked over modern poets, of whom she wasn't quite as fond. Finally, a poem caught her eye. A small smile settled upon her lips.
Once Eeric had finished his poem and taken his seat, she stood and glanced wearily around, only to be relieved to find few students actually paying attention. Clearing her throat softly, she pulled the book up to read. Anxiously, she kept her gaze fixated on the page, not daring to look up.
"Uhm, I chose, Believe Me, If All Those Endearing Young Charms, by Thomas Moore," she murmured softly, moving to the poem.
Believe me, if all those endearing young charms,
Which I gaze on so fondly today,
Were to change by tomorrow, and fleet in my arms,
Like fairy-gifts fading away,
Thou wouldst still be adored, as this moment thou art,
Let thy loveliness fade as it will,
And around the dear ruin each wish of my heart
Would entwine itself verdantly still.
It is not while beauty and youth are thine own,
And thy cheeks unprofaned by a tear
That the fervor and faith of a soul can be known,
To which time will but make thee more dear;
No, the heart that has truly loved never forgets,
But as truly loves on to the close,
As the sunflower turns on her god, when he sets,
The same look which she turned when he rose.
When she finished she sunk into her seat and buried her head in her hands for a moment before letting her chin rest on the desk. It had appealed to her, and she wasn't sure why.

Natalia was once again trying to look bored while secretly listening to the poems being recited. Poetry was one of her most favorite subjects, right behind the sciences. A few minutes after she had passed the note to Izabel, she heard a muffled tap and saw a piece of paper bounce onto her desk.
Written in pink ink, she read:
Natalia,
Sure, just stay away from Chad. He's bad news. He just wants to get into your pants. He's dated every girl, and then some more. If I were you and wanted to hang out with us, stop talking to him. Supposedly, he has herpes. Anyways, I think I have a free but I'm not sure.
Izabel.
While she read she raised her eyebrows questioningly. She really quite liked Chad, but what would she do without any girl friends? Deciding to ignore the boy for the rest of the day and hope that he would call her, she wrote a note to Izabel
Izabel,
I will definitely stay away. He sounds gross. Besides, I'd much rather hang with you.
Nat
She bounced the note back to Izabel and put on her bored face. This time, she wasn't thinking about the poetry being read, but about her current situation. It seemed like this Izabel wanted Chad. She was flirting with him earlier, and probably suspected something was up between he and Natalia. Hopefully Chad wouldn't wash off her phone number and would call her after school, or another time.
Natalia was brought out of her thoughts when she heard the beginning of one of her father's favorite poems.
"Believe me, if all those endearing young charms,
Which I gaze on so fondly today..."
She looked back to the front of the class where a petite brunette was speaking. She was really quite pretty, but seemed a little shy. Natalia thought she caught her eye and smiled for a moment. When the girl finished, she sat down quickly and buried her head in her arms.
Natalia's stomach growled. She remembered skipping breakfast and wish that LUNCH was soon.

I heard the bell ring suddenly, causing me to jump. Realizing that kids were quickly running out the door, I did the same, I picked up my books and ran out the door, running to my locker to put my things away. At this point I had become severely hungry, and didn't want to waste any time talking to others. When I put my books away, I slammed the locker door shut, put my lock over it and walked over to the lunch room.
I entered the lunch room and grabbed my food, getting a salad, soda, brownie, and a bag of Cape Cod chips. I sat down at a table farthest from everyone and sat down, beginning to munch on my chips. I looked around the room, seeing that almost nobody was here. I sighed and continued to eat my food, thinking about going to Second Cup after school. Why had I said yes? I didn't know people all that well anyway. I had a general idea about everyone, and I knew everyone's names, but that was about it, I didn't know anything else about anyone.
I took a bite of my salad, wondering about the Halloween ball. Why did they even have a Halloween ball anyway? I'm not going with anyone, so all I'll be doing is standing around drinking punch the whole time. I sighed at the thought, imagining the thought in my head. I wasn't sure if I wanted to go at all anymore.

Recieving another note, Izabel quickly unwrapped it, noticing Natalia's purple cursive. The girl's handwriting was much better than Chad's so it was ten times easier to read. Natalia's handwriting was a pretty cursive, with hearted i's and all but Chad's! Yech. Sloppy boy writing.
Izabel,
I will definitely stay away. He sounds gross. Besides, I'd much rather hang with you.

Lifting her pen, Izabel was just about to reply to the note but the bell rang. Rolling her eyes, she grabbed her bag and waited for Natalia. "Yeah, well he went out with my ex-best friend who moved to Texas and all and he dumped her because she like kissed a guy or whatever. Ex-boyfriends are like off-limits for everybody. Seriously. Even if the girl is a gajillion miles away or like whatever. It's part of the Feminist Code. It'll be our little secret." Izabel said, hushing her voice when she had told her it'll be their little secret.
"So let's go bitch." Izabel was soon out the door and walking down the hallway. "You DO know the set up of the school or are you like, freakishly new?"

Nathan heard the bell and packed up his old dusty book into his black bag and was off to his locker. He put it in and ran to the lunch room. He picked up a tray and placed a burger, a french fry, a piece of beef jerky, a root beer and he was off, to find a table. He scaned the room and noticed the tables so far, preps, jocks, goths, oddballs and then there was Dana. Should he sit with her or should he wait up to meet her later on in the day? He just sort of sat down at an empty table near Dana to see if she would ask for him to sit with her. She did seem very shy so he didn't want to intrude.

Once they had passed the confused looking boy, Izabel leaned in towards Natalia and said, "Yeah, well he went out with my ex-best friend who moved to Texas and all and he dumped her because she like kissed a guy or whatever." at this Natalia rolled her eyes, as if to say 'boys'. " Ex-boyfriends are like off-limits for everybody. Seriously. Even if the girl is a gajillion miles away or like whatever. It's part of the Feminist Code. It'll be our little secret." She whispered the last part.

The sudden and sharp ring of the bell made J.D. jerk to life in his seat. He'd been asleep for 75% of english class, and so now he slowly dragged himself to his feet before strolling out with the rest of the students. Leigh was waiting for him outside, and together they started off to their lockers, all the while talking about how boring english class had been, and how boring history class would be.
Much to their dismay, there weren't proven wrong.
J.D. spent another class drifting in and out of sleep, and Leigh occupied herself with writing lyrics. It was a good way to keep the teachers off her back, as it made them think she was taking notes.
Once that class had ended as well, it was time for lunch. As always J.D.'s first stop was a smoke in the place behind the school where he and his friends usually hung out, out of sight from the teachers. Leigh joined him at first, stealing a few puffs from his cigarette, but soon returned into the building and headed for the "ladies" room.

"Aww. You're so new. That's like SO cute." Izabel quickly moved through the crowds, watching as boys whistled at the two of them, or to be specific, her. As boys winked, Izabel continued walking through the horde of people which seemed to seperate to let the two blondes walk through. It was like Izabel was some kind of royalty.
Entering the cafeteria, it seemed like a jungle. All of the kids were divided into groups, each of them looking the same like the rest of their frenemies. "Okay, you see there are the 'cool asians'." Izabel pointed to a group of Asian girl and boys, wearing practically nothing and speaking in Chinese and other languages. Walking a couple of steps further. "And there are the weird Asians. Yeah, we don't talk to them. And there are like, the wannabees. What little freaks." Izabel said pointing to a group of four girls. One of them was a red headed midget, the other a fleshy girl eating a muffin. "And there are the sexually active band geeks." She pointed to a bunch of kids making out, looking as if they had contracted a million different STDs. Letting out a sigh, Izabel continued. "You are like SO lucky I took you in. Anyways, the kids who eat their feelings...the kids who don't eat." Izabel pointed to four kids sharing a small red bull with four straws. Giving a grimace, she continued. "The art geeks." Izabel pointed to a bunch of kids having a contest to see who could fit the most popsicles in their mouth. It looked rather fun. "The varsity jocks. The j.v. jocks." She pointed to a bunch of air-headed jocks. "The goths, aka the freaks. The losers. And then there's us. Royalty."
Izabel put her tote down and took a seat on the opposite side of Natalia. "The rest of us will be here soon. We have a couple of ground rules to tell you. One, we wear pinks on Wednesdays. You can only wear jeans on fridays and the same goes for track pants. You can only wear your hair up once a week.." Izabel glanced at her nails and then became, "No ex-boyfriends. No all solids...mm..Yeah. Done." Izabel flashed her a barbie smile.

Delainee's ears perked up at the ringing of the bell dismissing the class to lunch. The girl gave a small mini-cheer in the confinements of her desk, before springing to her feet with a strong bound.
"Come on Nemo, 'Daniel'le, and Iris! Oh, and Eeric can come too if he wants to~" Delainee chimed, and grabbed Nemo by the hand as she advanced out of the classroom. However, she stopped in her tracks, and turned around on the balls of her feet with a frown. There was a girl in the back of class who Delainee was almost positive had been named Lila. She seemed rather bored, and she couldn't remember seeing anyone talking with her during class. Delainee glanced at Daniel, and then back towards the girl. "Hey, Nemz, come here." She jerked on his hand and pulled him towards the back of the room, and stood aside Lila's desk where she was still gathering her belongings.
"Hey, um...your name is Lila, right? Want to come sit with us during lunch?" she beamed, and made a bouncy gesture with her hands in the air. "Unless you have other seating arrangements, which I mean I totally and completely understand! I mean, you might not even want to have anything to do with us, 'cose ya know, people call us the Freaks of the school. Eh, wot, Nemo? But we're not, you know. We're just different. But like I said, um...if you want to sit with us, you can but if you don't want to that's ok too!"
After receiving Lila's reply, Delainee jerked Nemo's hand and rushed after the others who were a ways up the hall by then, and in all actuality were filing into the cafeteria. The girl sighed, and put her free hand to her hip. The cafeteria was always so packed. Odds are, they would get nothing but scraps.
"You know, I'm not that hungry anyway, I'm just going to go ahead and sit down," Delainee tossed an enthused grin to Nemo. "You coming, or are you going to- Hey! Look it's that new girl. Didn't she say her name's Natalia? Let's go talk to her!"
However, behind her in a second was Daniel, who gave the two a stern look, "Absolutely not. She's bad news," Delainee tried to protest--she seemed too sweet to be 'bad news', but Daniel shook his head, "She's got this vibe to her. Besides, she's talking to Izabel." Even though Delainee didn't have a problem with Izabel, she knew better than to argue with her brother. Instead, Delainee pulled Nemo along again, and skipped over to their table merrily.

Natalia followed Izabel through the busy hallways to the lunch room. Despite being the new girl, she kept her posture straight and smiled sweetly at anyone who looked towards her, just in case Izabels' group didn't accept her. She pointed out all the groups, telling Natalia who to avoid and who she was allowed to speak to until they reached an empty table. Natalia wasn't surprised that it was the only empty table, even though there were many kids who were sitting on the floor or standing to eat.
She sat down, and Izabel sat down right across from her. "The rest of us will be here soon. We have a couple of ground rules to tell you." Natalia sighed softly, she hated the rules that the popular kids made. "One, we wear pinks on Wednesdays. You can only wear jeans on fridays and the same goes for track pants. You can only wear your hair up once a week.." Natalia raised an eyebrow while Izabel became enthralled with her manicure. "No ex-boyfriends. No all solids...mm..Yeah. Done." Then she flashed the new girl a blindingly white, practiced smile.
Natalia was growing concerned about all these fashion rules. What the heck am I supposed to wear, mall clothes? Eww, no way. She smiled uncertainly, "Are you serious? You have got to be kidding me." She looked around, then laughed. "Oh, I get it. You're just, like, pulling my leg. You're funny," she said pointing to Izabel, who didn't seem to be smiling anymore.

The bell rang, and Jenny rushed out of the classroom. She went to her locker and put her books, etc. away. She followed the crowd into the cafeteria, and after getting her food she searched for a place to sit. There were different groups at different tables, it was quite a hard decision. Should she sit at the nerds table and listen to them talk about electronics, math, science, how awesome the Sims 2 is, how cool school is? Sit with the oddballs, and listen to them talk about, well, she wasn't sure what they talked about, but they seemed like they might be interesting. Or what about the 'popular' preps, the Plastics. It certainly would be fun to tease them. Or maybe tease the Bullies...nah, bad idea. She decided to sit with the Preps, just for today, then maybe abandon them the next day and hang out with the oddballs. Yes... she decided she would have a little fun with the preps, maybe criticize small stupid details about their nails or makeup. She walked over to the table where the preps were. "Hi, I'm Jenny! After English there was history and that was a huge drag. Then the bell rang and along with the rest of the class she left stopping at her locker to put her books away. She was in search of the cafeteria when she saw Leigh walk in from outside and into the restroom.
Sophie pulled her bag over her shoulder and walked over to the glass doors and looked out seeing nothing. About to turn away and try to find her way to the cafeteria without getting lost again she saw something move by the stadium. Curious Sophie looked behind her and saw no one and decided to walk over.
Opening the doors and walking down a few steps. She crossed a small courtyard and over to a part of the school that she was unfamiliar with. Getting closer she could smell the faint scent of a cigarette. Living with a mother who chain smokes 3 packs a day you could never forget.
Turning the corner she saw a boy leaning against the wall casually smoking a cigarette. He looked her way and she smiled and said, " Hey your J.D right? We where in the last too periods together but I don't know if you noticed. I think you where sleeping. Anyways I'm Sophie mind if I join you?"

(((ooc: Thanks. Both my characters were getting lonely. *LOL* Though don't mind J.D. if (when) he's being difficult. That's just the way he is. Hell, just ask trampled/Lila. ;) )))
Once Leigh had left, J.D. leaned his back and head against the wall, letting the smoke leave his lungs as he slowly exhaled. For some reason, he was reluctant to go to the cafeteria. Well, actually, he knew what the reason was, he just didn't want to admit it to himself. He remembered how angry he had been, watching her avoiding him, yesterday and today, and he didn't want history to repeat itself.
Why the hell couldn't he just let it go? It wasn't as if she was the only girl in school. Or town, for that matter.
The dull, throbbing pain in his neck and left shoulder dragged him back to reality, and with a frown he rubbed his neck, massaging it slightly. Boy, was he sore.
Though his attention was soon diverted once again, as in the corner of his eye he could see someone approaching. He turned his head, while taking another slow drag on his cigarette. It was a pretty blonde, who he thought might have been in his class. Though he wasn't sure.
"Hey, you're J.D., right?" she said, a smile on her lips. "We were in the last too periods together but I don't know if you noticed. I think you where sleeping. Anyways I'm Sophie, mind if I join you?"
At first, J.D.'s eyes narrowed suspiciously. What was she doing? No one except his friends approached him. Ever. Unless they were looking for trouble. But trouble seemed to be the last thing on this girl's mind. She actually seemed... believe it or not... friendly?
Why? If she was just another one of those cowards that sucked up to him in an attempt to get on his good side, and thus escape getting beaten up, then she sure was going out of her way.
"Sure...", he said slowly, looking her from top to bottom, and back again, as if trying to decide what her motives for coming out there were. "And yeah, I'm J.D., and yeah, I was sleeping."
Leaning back against the wall again, he gave her a quick glance.
"Sophie, huh?" he said, and then added with quite a hint of venom in his voice; "Weren't you the one who... Sorry, I meant one of the three girls who were getting hit on by that dense jock... Chuck, or Chad, or Chip, or whatever the hell his name is?"

The bell rang suddenly, alerting everyone that English over. The next class, History, was boring. Maria hated history. Although she understood the need to have knowledge about the past so mistakes were not repeated, it seemed pointless to have to know the name of the dead guy who led the battles or the exact date of when it happened. Maria spent most of the class doodling in her notebook instead of actually paying attention.
After history, it was time for lunch. Maria sighed as she headed to her locker to put away her books, wondering if it was possible to hate lunch even more than she hated history. Lunch was simply a time to remind her of how alone she was. The cafeteria would be full of kids hanging out in their respective cliques, socializing with their friends. Maria would grab her food and then the realization would hit her--even the nerds had more friends than she did. So what did that make her?
Shaking the thoughts from her head, Maria walked slowly to the cafeteria, staring at the floor as she bit her bottom lip, debating whether or not to just hide in the bathroom all lunch period. Before she could reach a decision, however, she had ran right in to someone. Looking up, Maria felt her cheeks flush with embarassment.
"I'm so sorry," she mumbled, her mouth forming an "o" when she saw who it was she had just run into.

The ring of the bell pulsed through Tia's ears like a car tire on a basketball court. Shoving all of her books and pencils back into her messenger bag, she got up and was one of the first to leave the room. The cool hallway air freshened everything, her mood, her face; She was even convinced her outlook on the school was brighter. Wanting to stop and smile at every decent looking person she saw, she was rudely nudged and budged by many teenage boy arms that were followed by beastly backpacks ready to bruise any living thing that dared enter it's path.
When she finally got to the end of the cafeteria line, her plate full of a Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich, Skim milk, and an apple, she browsed the room for a decent spot to sit. Her eyes found Dana and Nathan, two faces that seemed pretty normal, and decided to sit with them. "Hey guys, mind if I sit here today? Dana I really like that shirt by the way.. Where did you get it?" Tia asked, sliding herself into one of the open chairs. She was surprised at how smooth her introduction made herself sound, and decided that today might not be as bad as she had first thought.

Sophie stopped rummaging and looked up at him. " Yea, I guess I was. Sometimes I can be naive I was just looking for someone to you know help me out. I'm new so I have no idea who anyone really is so I figured he would show me around. But I was wrong." Sighing Sophie finally found what she was looking for taking out her pack and pulling out a cig she lite it up and leaned back. "I've tried to quit but when your mom smokes all the time its hard. I don't really want to end up like my mom, but stuff happends"
Dropping her tote to the ground she looked up at J.D he wasn't the typical boy she was used to back at home. He seemed more of a bad boy kinda of rugged around the edges, mysterious, it intrigued Sophie. Tilting her head up she exhaled some smoke and closed her eyes and just relaxed all of her muscles trying to forget about all her troubles.

Name: Illoana Reetoe
Age/Class: 16/Junior
Clique: Goths
After School Activity: Art club
Brief History/Personality description: Illoana has a tendency to hide her emotions because she simply fears getting hurt. Having had a bad history with people she used to trust, she has difficulties opening up to people spontaneously. But once someone is kind enough to her, she turns out to be very gentle and kind, loyal and trustworthy. People label her as goth, but she just happens to like piercings and the color black. She doesn't hate life or any aspect of it, but quite the opposite. Her main passion is drawing. She's quite an artist and painting is her way of expressing her feelings freely. She doesn't mind what people say about her. She got used to it to say the least. With time she learned that true friends can be counted on the fingers of a hand, and that true friends know her for who she is: black is just a color, it doesn't define her personality.
She recently transfered from New York. Transferring was more of a challenge for her than anything else, a challenge she was willing to take. Leaving her friends was difficult, but she was curious about what was to come.
Anything Else you want to add: Her biggest fear is death.

"So" she said, pulling her lunch out of her bag "Have you thought of an idea for a costume for the Halloween Dance yet?"
Essa looked up from his Turkey sandwich and said “Has it ever occurred to you that I don’t celebrate holidays that belong to other religions?”
“Actually, yes.” Georgina replied as she unpacked her lunch. “But seeing as how you have a boyfriend I didn’t think it would matter seeing as how you are already broke a few commandments.”
Essa, who just recovered from choking on his meal, said. “How did you know I…”
“Oh come now Essa.” She now turned towards him. “I’m not a geniuses for nothing.”
The shocked look on Essa’s face disappeared only to be replaced by a -.-;
“Stop looking at me like that.” She turned her attention to the meal. “So what are you going to wear?”
“I don’t know really. He wanted something matching but we scrapped that idea. So we’re going for something exotic.” He took a sip of his ice tea “What about you?”

"Well" sad Georgina, swallowing a mouthful of salad "I haven't completely decided yet. Whatever I do decide, I'm going all out though. I really want to win this costume contest".
"Of course you do" replied Essa, continuing to sip his iced tea 'When do you not want to win things".
"Exactly" said Georgina, taking a sip of her own drink "I was thinking about doing someone from Jane Austen, maybe Elizabeth from Pride and Prejudice".

Chad watched Izabel walk out of the classroom with her head held high, not looking at him with Natalia close behind. He was about to ignore the both of them when Natalia turned round and waved apologetically at him, making him smile a little bit.
Watching the rest of the class leave for lunch, Chad decided to stay behind and read some of the poems from the poety book. He may not want to contribute in class but he wasn't a total air-head, and knew that poetry was interesting and besides, he actually liked it. Turning round to pick up Izabel's poetry book she'd left behind, he spotted Natalia's neat purple handwriting on a scrumpled up piece of paper. He opened it and immediately frowned again.
Stay away from him he read in Izabel's pink pen. Ok I will was also written in purple
"Bitch!" Chad muttered under his breath about Izabel, reading the rest of their notes before leaving the classroom with a scowl on his face.

((I just realised Regina kinda turned out bad looking, so i'll be remaking her later and post a new pic of her.))
Regina had been late to school and she had missed over half of the days. When she arrived to school the first thing that came to her mind was getting to her locker to make sure that she looked good enough for the boys. All in a blur rushing to her locker she knocked into somebody. All of her stuff spilled to the floor leaving her in a daze. When she glanced up to see who she had run into, she was hypnotised by his looks. She felt as if she had died on impact and was sent to heaven and an angel was waiting to help her up.
Her cheeks started to heat up and she knew she was blushing. She had no idea who he was, but that was something she definitely planned on doing. She picked all of her stuff up and slid it under her arm before introducing herself.
"I'm Regina Appleson, who might I be honered to meet?" she slid her purse higher over her shoulder before extending her arm to be shooken.

Chad wondered down tha hallway on his way to the canteen, annoyed about the conversation that had gone on between Izabel and Natalia and wanted to sort it. He liked both of them, especially Natalia and man she was a great kisser. But Izabel was the queen bee and, possibly, even hotter than Natalia. Yep Chad was confused.
As he was walking absorbed in his own thoughts a girl ran straight into him and dropped all her stuff on the floor. Chad looked down at her and smiled cheekily, helping her pick up a book before standing up to meet her gaze. She extended her arm to him
"I'm Regina Appleson, who might I be honered to meet?" the girl said to Chad, smiling with red cheeks.
Chad took her hand and kissed it, gently pulling Regina closer to him as he did so
"I'm Chad, regulation jock and bad-boy combo," he joked, "and you'd think I'd have remembered someone as gorgeous as you!"

On her way to the restroom, Leigh casually navigated between the students walking in the opposite direction. She tried to keep her course steady, but as she wasn't interested in colliding with anyone, sometimes she just had to give way. But only when the person she would otherwise run into did the same. The few that didn't found themselves bumping into her, and to then be the target of a pitch black stare over her shoulder.
Then there were the ones that had learned, and simply moved out of her way. They weren't as many as whenever she was walking with J.D. - with him, it seemed people just couldn't get out of his way fast enough - but she obviously had managed to scare a few into submission. She did pack a mean punch, and a razor sharp tounge, and those who had happened to encounter either, knew they were better off not provoking her.
A few feet shy of the restroom door, however, someone not only bumped into her, but ran right into her with a big thud. Never far away from going off like firecracker, Leigh didn't need much else for her greengrey eyes to flare with anger.
"What the f***!" she exclaimed, glaring at the guilty party.
It was a girl she thought she recognized. Hadn't she been in the previous two classes? She must be quite new to the school though, because Leigh couldn't recall having seen her at the beginning of the school year.
"I'm so sorry," the girl mumbled, her cheeks red with embarassment.
She looked up, and when she saw who it was that she had run into, an expression of slight shock appeared on her face.
"Watch where you're going", Leigh sneered, despite the girl's apology.

[ Go adorable avatars! XD Be careful with Disney Channel, as it is bad for the soul. *nod nod* But the best current move I guess would have to be Finding Nemo. All the other new ones are stupid >.>]
As the bell rang, in unison, Nemo and Delainee Rose gave out a little cheer and hop.
"Come on Nemo, 'Daniel'le, and Iris! Oh, and Eeric can come too if he wants to~" Delainee chimed, and grabbed Nemo by the hand as she advanced out of the classroom. Nemo had changed his attitude toward Eeric, as he seemed like a nice guy, but he was still keeping his eye on him like hawk! Stopping in her tracks, which made Nemo run into the back of her, she turned around on the balls of her feet with a frown. He honestly had no idea what she was doing, but he remained linked to her at the arms and continued to jerk him around. "Hey, Nemz, come here." She pulled him over to the back of the room, there was one person left. Nemo knew her name was Lila.
Nemo nodded his head enthusiastically to Lila, encouraging her to come. Even if they were freaks. They were just more interesting, anyway. Delainee declared she wasn't eating, but Nemo whipped out his lunchbox! That he had forgot to pack! Now, he would be hungry for the remainder of the day.
Then Delainee thought it would be a good idea to talk to the new girl. Both Nemo and Daniel protested, "Eh, I wouldn't try it. I saw her throwing compliments at Izabel and then making out with Chad in the hallway. Remember what happened with Leigh?? Hmm?" Normally, you should be nice to the new kid, but she was kind of an exception

When hearing J.D.'s remark, Sophie stopped searching her bag and instead looked up at him.
"Yea, I guess I was", she said. "Sometimes I can be naive. I was just looking for someone to, you know, help me out. I'm new so I have no idea who anyone really is, so I figured he would show me around. But I was wrong."
J.D. raised an eyebrow. So she had already realized that jock was a sleaze? Impressive. That would mean she actually had a brain, unlike most of the girls at the school.
Once she found a pack of cigarettes, she lit one up and leaned back against the wall next to him.
"I've tried to quit," she said, apparently trying to make small talk; an art J.D. had never really learned, or even familiarized himself with. "But when your mom smokes all the time it's hard. I don't really want to end up like my mom, but stuff happens."
J.D. glanced over at her, shrugged, and gave his standard reply for when he really had nothing to say, or simply didn't care:
"Whatever."
Taking a final drag on his cigarette, he then dropped it to the ground and crushed it with his boot, before looking over at her again.
"So you're new, huh?", he said, stating rather than asking. "Guess I better let you in on some common knowledge around here then. This..."
He motioned around the area where they stood, and continued;
"... is my, and my friends', turf. People don't come here, unless they want their skulls cracked open."
He shot her a look, just to make sure she got the message, but refrained from adding a ill-boding 'Got it?'. After all, she seemed fairly intelligent, which meant he really had nothing against her. So far, at least.

((ok I really want to start, and there was a Goth place available, so here goes... if you want me to stop at any moment just tell me))
Illoana opened her eyes. She looked at her clock as saw that it was around noon.
Oh, it's just noon, she thought, I stil have to slee- "WOAH!! Noon??" she screamed, jumping out of her bed at the same time.
She wasn't the sort that would freak out for being late, but it was her first day at her new school, and the least she could have done was come on time.
She knew her parents were already at work, and while brushing her teeth hurriedly, she wondered why the alarm hadn't gone off. "Piece of crap" she mumbled at the alarm clock, pulling a pair of black skinny pants.
She fixed her hair and put her usual black crayon around her eyes. She looked at herself in the mirror, thought she looked quite acceptable, grabbed her bag and ran off to school. Her mother had shown her the way, and it wasn't far.
She got there fast, and by the looks of it, it was lunch time. She went through the front door, walked for a while, and stopped to look at a very attractive boy (Chad) kissing a pretty girl's hand (Regina).
Oh God, let it be a good day, she thought.
She looked at the signs on the door and stopped in front of one that read 'Principal's office'.
She came in and closed the door behind her.
'Yes, can I help you?'
Illoana started at the woman and assumed she was the secretary.
''umm, yes, I've just transfered here from New York... I know I'm two months late, and late today too but... well I just need my schedule''
"What's you name dear?"
"Illoana Reetoe"
"Ah yes, you're right here on the list. Since it's your first day, I won't say anything, but next time make sure to come on time"
She pulled out a yellow piece of paper and a small locker key and handed them to Illoana.
"Yes, I'm sorry I won't be late again..."
She took the paper and read it while walking out of the office.
She had missed English class and History. Crap, she thought. She liked English class.
After putting her books away in her locker, she followed the sound of the crowd, and it led her straight into the cafeteria.
Obviously, she didn't know anyone. She could easily see that it was the typical high school.
She took a tray, placed some food on it and walked back to sit on an empty table. She wasn't very hungry, and began to observe. On the side, she saw two preppy girl chatting, one obviously explaining something to the other.
'Hmm... they have those here too... what a surprise...' she thought.
She saw two brown haired boys and an unusual blond girl on a table. She smiled at their gestures. They looked amusing and interesting.
And not far from them she saw the most attractive boy she had ever seen in her entire life.
She felt her cheeks go scarlet, then slapped herself mentally and thought 'Snap out of it! How old are you??'
His black hair fixed in a low ponytail, with a few braids in them (Eeric), she wished he would walk by her.

J.D motioned around the area where they stood, and continued;

He shot her a look of which Sophie gathered was to understand this or die. Flicking her own bud to the ground she stepped on it with her white vans and squished it back and forth. Then looking up at him she responded with a mysterious smile.
"So... I'm invading on your turf right now? Hmm I guess that means your gonna have to try beat me up, but you wouldn't want to try you might get hurt."
Sophie smiled up at him and he gave her death glare. "Jeez" Sophie proclaimed, " I'm just kidding if I ever tried to punch someone I'd probably break my hand."

"Hey Dana, how are you?" Nathan asked.
"Oh, I'm fine thanks," I said, taking a rather large bite out of my salad. There was and akward silence for a moment, I didn't really know what to say. I sat there, continuing to eat my food.
"Hey guys, mind if I sit here today? Dana I really like that shirt by the way.. Where did you get it?" a voice said. I looked up to see that it was Tia, another girl from her classes.
Tia sat down in a seat as I started to speak. "Oh, thanks," I said smiling. "I got it from...uh..." I paused, not remembering where I got it from.
"You know what? I really don't remember," I said, a little confused. "I'll find out later anyways." I took another bite of my salad and gulped down some soda, then continued to speak.

Maria looked up at the person she had run into, embarrassed for having been so careless. When she saw the dark haired girl, she was worried. The girl was named Leigh if Maria remembered correctly, and she sat at the back of the classes, looking like they type who would punch first and ask questions later--something Maria didn't want to find out about firsthand.
"Watch where you're going," Leigh sneered.
Maria took a step to the right, getting out of Leigh's way as she spoke again. "I'm so sorry. I guess I wasn't paying attention," Maria said and then smiled nervously. "I'm Maria by the way. I think we're in some classes together. I really am sorry. I'll watch where I'm going from now on."
Maria stood to the side, still nervous, hoping that Leigh wouldn't attack her or something. She couldn't really be that bad, could she? She was probably just misunderstood.

"You know what? I really don't remember... I'll find out later anyways." Dana replied, looking a little shook up and swallowing her salad with her soda. Not being the only nervous one relieved Tia tons. Dana started to speak again. "So what did you think of English class today?" she asked Tia and Nathan.
"I thought it was pretty good. I mean poetry is not my thing but it was still fun. I did a few doodles that I have in my bag," Nathan replied, mouth full of burger. Tia tried not to cringe at the sight of chewed cow, but let out a small groan of disgust that she hoped her two lunch-mates didn't overhear.
"Doodles? Are your doodles with you, or is it back in your locker?" Dana asked Nathan, sounding genuinely interested. "I did doodles too," She said. "But mine are...well, bad." she said, shaking her head. "I'm not an artist, I'm probably the worst at drawing ever in history." Dana sighed.
Tia wanted to see both of their doodles. She herself had gotten into doodling during class. Whatever was on her mind at the time somehow ended up on her assignment.
"Ya I have one in my bag." Nathan replied, pulling it out. "I did it after a movie I saw. It's very action." Nathan slapped the drawing on the table and both Dana and Tia leaned in to get a better look.
"Wow! that's really good Nathan! The shading on the face and stuff looks really realistic!" Tia smiled. Nathan had some drawing skills. Definitely a turn-on to an art-fanatic like herself.
"Dana, do you have any on you?" He asked. Tia, also, wanted to see her doodlings. Suddenly she wished she had something impressive to share with her new friends. Just then she remembered a drawing of her mother in the seventies that she did. "Perfect!" she thought and waited for Dana to get out her drawings.

Derek woke up late. Very late. His mother and stepfather had been fighting again the night before and he hadn't been able to get any sleep.
It didn't matter. He was used to skipping classes. English and History were particularly the subjects he hated the most. He got up, took a quick shower, didn't even bother to take a look at his messy hair, grabbed his bag and headed to school.
As he was walking, cursing his stepfather in his thoughts, he saw a cockroach in front of him. He squished it as hard as he could so that all that was left of the insect was a big blob of goo. He used anything to release his anger. He normally controlled himself when it came to actual people, but he wasn't the nicest kid around either. His friends were people like him, who he knew would never bother him.
He thought of his stepfather again, wondering how he came into his life in the first place.
"A**hole.", he said out loud, startling an old lady who was walking her dog nearby.
As he got to school, he realized he had forgotten his cigarettes at home.
"F***..." he mumbled. It wouldn't be a problem, he knew where to get some.
He directly walked to the back of the building, where people like him usually hanged out.
He saw J.D. He walked to him and said. "Hey J.D. got a smoke?" He then looked at the person J.D. was facing, and asked in a slightly aggressive tone: "Who is she?"

[[ NOOO. Sadly, my parents are banning me from the computer for 2 weeks so I can develop good "study habits". Which is stupid, because there isn't even anything to study at my new school >.< But anywho, whenver that's over, they're getting me a laptop, and I can be like eternally active!! Then I'll edit this post with what's going on. Sorry! I'm so sad now, and so is Nemo, although Lori's a bit excited she'll get to skip school.
Edit: Hmm hmm! I've just finished talking to TS and looks like Nemo's going back to Greece. I never really got why everyone was already 16 in there Junior year, I guess they all had august birthdays! Or they failed! So anyway, Nemo's dad was mad at him for leaving early, and wants him to come back to celebrate his birthday with him and his dad's side of the family. Greek style! XD So I'll just kind of be randomly whenever I get on be RP-ing him in Greece, and he might get bored and leave a messege on Delainee Rose's phone.
As for Lori, since she's kind of more boring then Nemo, she'll just catch a deathly cold and be at home in her sick bed. Need not worry as she will miraculously recover in, 2 weeks! But I guess I could RP her being sick and pissed.
Well, sadly, they're going to miss the Halloween ball probably (which is depressing for Nemo especially) (*shakes fist* that's what you get for leaving Greece early!) :'D Don't mind me talking to myself today! I'm kind of crazy and sleep deprived! So, I'm once again sorry, and I will miss you all!

Eeric nodded warmly when Delainee Rose invited him to lunch with them, and silently stood to follow them out. Before they made it to the door, however, they stopped in front of a quiet brunette girl, Lila apparently, and Delainee Rose invited her along as well.
"You all are so welcoming," he said with a chuckle, truly impressed by the kindness the small group of oddballs had exhibited in his short time with them. They lacked the social prejudices a lot of the other cliques possessed, and for that, he was grateful.
Lila's head shot up when she heard the pleasant voice of the blonde girl she had heard been called Delainee Rose. She came with her own posse in tow, but offered to let her come to lunch with them. Lila smiled softly and nodded yes.
"Thank you, everyone's been sort of ignoring me...it's like I have cooties or something." She giggled lightly and stood, gathering her things and following the group into the lunchroom. Slumping into the chair at their table in the lunchroom, she glanced up when a masculine voice addressed her.
"Want me to get you some food? I'm going to get mine anyway." Eeric gazed down at her, a friendly smile in place. Lila nodded. "Thank you. A sandwich would be fine..." she smiled gratefully, and Eeric shrugged his shoulders, as if to say, 'think nothing of it'.
On his way over to the lunchline he saw a china-doll like girl (Illoana) glancing at him, and he offered her a soft and charming smile. Despite his sometimes harsh-looking exterior, Eeric was in no way like the tough-guys in the school who would snarl at anyone who looked that way. He reached the lines of food and paused, trying to decide on what to get for himself, and then for Lila as well.

On his way over to the lunchline Eeric saw a china-doll like girl (Illoana) glancing at him, and he offered her a soft and charming smile.
Illoana couldn't believe he had noticed her. She blushed again, slapping herself mentally again, and smiled back shyly. As he stood in front of the lines of food, she observed him. She didn't know what came over her, but she was determined to talk to him. She took a bite out of the salami sandwich she had taken, agreed it was disgusting enough, got up and marched towards Eeric.
"You shouldn't get a salami sandwich... they're terrible..." she said to him, sounding casual, but her heart thumping like crazy.
((Trampled, I hope you'll feel better soon, surgeries can be tough... oh, and thanks smiling at me lol! Illoana is thrilled :) ))

After introducing herself to Leigh, Maria felt continued nervousness bordering on intense anxiety. Leigh had said nothing in return, and the silence was enough to nearly push Maria over the edge into sheer panic. Maria was not exactly good at reading people and often this led her to jump to the conclusion that there was something wrong with her, and that she was unwanted company. Mumbling something about needing to get some food, Maria excused herself from Leigh's company and walked towards the lunch room, sighing as she put distance between herself and Leigh.
Once inside the lunch room, Maria kept her gaze focused in front of her, not wanting to see the fact that there would be little to no empty seats, except for the ones that were "reserved" for other people's friends. Despite not looking at anyone around her, Maria was quite sure she could feel the sideways looks she was getting. People judging her without knowing her, having never even talked to her. High school was awful.
Maria reached the lines of food just behind the guy in English class that had been allowing Delainee Rose to braid his hair. She let her hair fall into her face again, and chewed on her bottom lip a bit while she pondered the food choices. The guy in front of her seemed to be doing the same and Maria tried to think of something to say, but came up with nothing. Sighing, she reached for a turkey sandwich, placing it on her tray and turning away from the food.
Maria stood a few feet from the lines of food now, looking over the tables and wondering where she could sit. The tables all looked pretty full, and she really didn't want to interfere on some group of friends. Putting her head down and staring at the sandwich on her tray, Maria contemplated simpy throwing the stupid thing away and escaping outside to the field or something...

“Yeah I know, it’s just…” Essa paused “I don’t even know them. I’m a Kuwaiti I need to socialize with people from different groups. Frankly I’m getting suffocated. I only have you and my boyfriend and that’s not enough.”
“I am more then enough. Thank you very much.” She eyed him “Just because you’re too simple to understand my genius doesn’t mean I’m bad company.”
Essa rolled his eyes as he walked over to dump his tray, in the process of doing so he didn’t notice that someone was there and bumped into them.
“Sorry I didn’t see you.”

The rest of the lesson continued on the same, people reading out poems or reciting their favourite songs. Luce yawned, wishing she hadn’t bothered dashing in. Some were vaguely interesting but she wasn’t learning anything here, nothing that would teach her how to make a quick buck and get herself out of this dump. As people continued droning on she rested her head against her arms closing her eyes. Hoping the teacher wouldn’t notice her and force her to recite some dreary rubbish.
The next lesson wasn’t much better. But at least she learned something in history. Which lessons to skive from this term. Her time could be better spent elsewhere.
As she headed towards the cafeteria she noticed a girl with dark hair and makeup gazing longingly in Eric’s direction whilst she sat at a table alone. Intrigued she watched her, the girl sure did have good taste in boys. He was one fine piece of eye candy. She turned as the girl obviously plucked up the courage to approach him and gave a friendly smile in her direction.
Selecting a salad sandwich she plumed for extra mayonnaise. Turning from the food she only just resisted the urge to wink at Eric. She spotted Maria, stood skimming the tables and moved over to her. “There's some seats free over there I think” She said to the people around her, pointing towards a table that was deserted in the corner. “Looks like everyone’s piled in today.”

Eeric lifted a sandwich off the tray and sniffed it, trying to determine what exactly it was. Instead he quickly found that his attempt to identify it was inconclusive. He gave a shudder and eyed it, wondering if sight instead of smell would tell him what it was.
"You shouldn't get a salami sandwich... they're terrible..."
Eeric turned to see who had given him the word of warning. Beside him he found the china doll girl, porcelain skin and ebony hair and all.
"No kidding. My mother always warned me never to eat something if I didn't know what it was." He held up the sandwich, as if evidence. "Mystery meat. So wrong." he shook his head sullenly, extending a slender hand to her.
"I'm Eeric. Thanks for the advisory." He flashed her a grin, revealing his two rows of pearl-like teeth. "I'll avoid the salami."

“There's some seats free over there I think.” Maria heard the voice and turned to look at who was speaking. Maria's eyes widened a bit when she saw Luce. Maria had never figured her to be friendly, but then again, these dark-types had been surprising her all morning. First the one in English letting his hair get braided, and now Luce helping her find a seat in the crowded lunch room.
“Looks like everyone’s piled in today,” Luce commented, bringing a nod from Maria as she blew her bangs out of her eyes a bit.
"Thanks," Maria said with a smile. "I was starting to wonder if I should just skip lunch and avoid the crowd. I hate all the exclusiveness." With that, Maria headed for the empty table, and took a seat.

Lori hated the smell of meat. She could (unlike most people who didn't notice) smell blood and dead stuff, which had become really annoying. This was part of the reason she had gone veg. Looking at the rather grotesque lunch options and her empty tray, she skidded it along the counter grabbing a fruit cup and some milk as she walked over to an empty table that the "goth kids" always seemed to sit.
She never minded being part of a stereotype, and thought the kids who were always protesting "Labels are for soup! Not people!" were kind of irritating. It's only for highschool, and it's four years, so get over yourself. The Goths weren't a bad group to be in either, as you only had to wear black and didn't have much of a rep to live up too. The apples in the plastic cup were already brown and mushy. Sighing, she looked around the cafeteria at her fellow classmates.
Her eyes were instantly drawn to Eeric, who still wore Delainee's loose braids in his hair. She also noticed she wasn't the only one who was eyeing him. Luce was right near him, along with another pretty girl that she didn't remember seeing in class. Or ever really.
Not knowing what to expect the rest of the day, she opened her milk carton and sipped some of the vile liquid, instantly spitting it back on the table. "Spoiled," she muttered to herself. As an attempt to rid her mouth of the taste, she ate all of the fruit, avoiding the apples, yet the flavor still lingered...

"Ya I have one in my bag. I did this one after a movie I saw. It's very action," Nathan said, as he placed it on the table. I leaned in, trying to get a good look. That's really good, nicely drawn, I thought. It makes my doodles look like crap. I laughed a little at this, and then turned to look back at the drawing.
"Wow! that's really good Nathan! The shading on the face and stuff looks really realistic!" Tia said. I nodded in agreement. It really was very good.
"Dana, do you have any on you?" Nathan asked. I turned to face him, forgetting that I had mentioned something about my drawings. "Um, well not at the moment," I said nervously. I lied, which I know I shouldn't do, but I really didn't want to show them my pathetic looking drawings.
"They're in my locker," I added quickly. "I don't really draw, I like to write more than anything." I quickly changed the subject, hoping they would forget about my doodles.

Eeric chuckled, tossing the sandwich back and selecting a salad instead, grabbing a typically safe turkey sandwich for Lila, as per her request.
"It's a lovely name. I've always found uncommon names more interesting. Mine isn't all that unique, despite the extra E. But, as far as food goes, I'd suggest that you don't eat anything the cafeteria serves." he rolled his eyes and finished grabbing the rest of the food, balancing it all on a tray.
"But since that's not an option, go for the safe foods. The salads and plain sandwiches are usually a safe bet, and the fruits and vegetables are usually fresh. Just be careful. Wouldn't want to upset your stomach," he gave her a wink and turned away, heading towards their table.

Maria sat at the table, noticing that it wasn't empty. A girl from her classes, Lori, was already sitting there and was spitting milk from her mouth. Odd. Maria shifted nervously in the seat, wondering if she'd be glared or yelled at for sitting at the table. Afterall, she had blond hair, not black, and her clothing didn't quite fit those of the two girls she sat with. But Luce seemed nice...so maybe Lori was nice as well?
“We’ve got a friend for the day as it’s so crowded here,” Luce said to Lori. Maria offered a shy smile and turned her attention back to the sandwich on her tray though she wasn't feeling quite so hungry anymore. Luce was still talking, nodding towards the counter. "Looks like Eeric’s found himself a new companion."
Maria looked over where Luce indicated, and saw the boy who had let his hair get braided, Eeric, talking to an attractive girl that Maria didn't recognize. "It seems that he's quite popular today," Maria grinned, happy that she at least had someone to talk to this lunch period.

Eeric, who had disappeared for a few moments was advancing towards the table with a new catch. She was quite lovely, really, but as of that moment, that was not Delainee's concern. Her sterling world was brought to a sickening halt when a man came and seemed to just pluck Nemo from his very seat. The girl blubbered, staring at the lunch box that had been abandoned in the process. Her heart gave a heavy lurch, and she was struggling to fight the tears that were clearly welling up in her silver gaze. Her best friend had been gone for a solid two months, and now he was just going to be snatched away again?
Meanwhile, Daniel was trying to make sense of the situation. After all, the only explanation for this sudden removal of their friend had been that he was going back to Greece. Nothing else. And it took nothing more than a few minutes to remove him from the cluttered cafeteria. At the same time, he was desperately trying to keep Delainee from bursting into tears in the midst of the cafeteria. However, his endeavors weren't going so well.
"H-h-h-hello," she managed to stutter, her eyes shining with a forced happiness that really gave her nothing but a Mad Hatter effect. "I...I um...it's a pleasure to meet you Illia."
Daniel frowned and patted her on the arm, and hissed, "He said her name was Illoana, Del..." Embarassment added to her trauma, and she buried her head in her arms, blubbering out an apology.

"So...", Sophie said, giving J.D. a mysterious smile. "I'm invading on your turf right now? Hmm I guess that means your gonna have to try beat me up, but you wouldn't want to try you might get hurt."
J.D.'s eyes narrowed. He was certainly not in the mood to be the target of more teasing, or more insults. He'd gotten quite enough of that the day before, thank you very much. And it really started to p*ss him off that he just couldn't seem to let it go. He let alot of sh*t go, so why not Lila's crap as well?
"Jeez", Sophie said, obviously thinking his darkened eyes had to do with her comment, which, true enough, it did, but only partly. "I'm just kidding. If I ever tried to punch someone I'd probably break my hand."
"And your neck", J.D. snapped.
He just needed to make sure he'd gotten his point across. When she acknowledged the rules, he'd be satisfied enough to back off, and relax. But as it had yet to happen, he remained on guard, for now.
Just then another person turned the corner and headed towards J.D. and Sophie; Derek. Being a part of the gang, J.D. greeted him with a vague smile, glad to see another familiar face.
There hadn't been too many of those around today.
Barely bothering to give Sophie a glance, Derek walked right up to J.D.
"Hey J.D., got a smoke?"
"Always", J.D. said, pulling his pack of cigarettes from his jacket pocket, and throwing it over to his pal.
When it came to his friends, J.D. could actually give, without having some ulterior motive, or demand something in return.
"Who is she?" Derek asked, glaring over at Sophie.
"I dunno", J.D. replied with a shrug, and continued almost as if she wasn't standing right next to him: "Some new chick, who hasn't learned how things work here yet. She seems cool though. She's already seen through that moron Chet, or Chip, or whatever. You know, the jock?"

Then the boy ,who was taller than she was with dark hair that cover two pretty green eyes, asked.
"Who is she?" Giving her a suspicious look. J.D responded "I dunno" as if she hadn't just been standing here for the past five minutes. The boy looked her up again and asked "Haven't you?" pausing to smirk at her he added "What did you say your name was again?"
Recovering from J.D remarks she looked up at the boy.

Just moments after arriving at the table, some nameless man arrived at their table and said something about Greece, and Nemo, and leaving. Eeric's fair face contorted into a concerned, confused expression, and he stood as if in protest.
"W-wait, sir, Nemo," he stammered, watching the boy being escorted out of the cafeteria at an almost break-neck pace. He barely had time to utter a goodbye as he was leaving. His brows knitted together, somewhat off-put by the abrupt leave of Nemo. Before he could protest any further, his attention was directed to the hiccup-like suppressed crying of Delainee Rose. He moved to her side and placed a gentle, comforting hand on her back, a frown set on his kind features.
"I'm sure it's alright, Delainee Rose. We'll figure out where Nemo's gone, I'm certain." He gave a nod, as if sure of his words, and glanced back to Illoana. "Er, this is Delainee Rose, Daniel, and Lila. That was Nemo," he gestured to each person respectively. He let a breath of air through his lips and shook his head, still focused on Nemo's departure.

"I dunno", J.D. replied with a shrug, and continued almost as if she wasn't standing right next to him: "Some new chick, who hasn't learned how things work here yet. She seems cool though. She's already seen through that moron Chet, or Chip, or whatever. You know, the jock?"
He turned his head and looked at Sophie, sizing her up once more.
"Haven't you?" he said with a smirk, and a tone of voice that almost dared her to... No, warned her from saying otherwise. "What did you say your name was again?"
"Oh I'm Sophie and yeah I'm new and learned all about Chad and his dirty ways," Looking down at her feet for a second then back at the boy she asked "Anyways, whats your name?"
Derek grinned: "The Chipmaester, eh? We have to teach the new meat who to hang out with and who NOT to hang out with, don't we J.D. ..."
Facing the girl, which he secretly found pretty attractive, he continued: "Derek. You don't look like the type who would cause trouble though. What brings you to this part of the school?"

Delainee almost wanted to backhand Eeric, but it was for a fleeting second, and she immediately felt guilty for thinking such a horrid thing. She rubbed the back of her hand across her eyes, and stretched out her free hand to Illoana, "I'm Delainee Rose, as Sir Eeric has cleared up f-f-for you. And, don't worry. I-I know where he's going," she sniffled, "back to Greece again. You know, I wouldn't have minded, at all...but...he was gone all summer long... And then he left for Greece. And now he's going back. And he's going to miss...going to miss the...the dance...and we won't get to go...and...and..." she barely managed to compose herself, but somehow she caught herself before she fell off the edge again.
Daniel flashed Illoana an apologetic look and extended his hand as well when Delainee moved, "Nice to meet you. I'm sorry about this, I...things are a bit hectic I suppose."

The bell rang and Galen let out a sigh of relief. History made his head hurt. Shoving his books into his bag, he left the room with the rest of the students and headed for his locker to drop off his bag. As Galen headed towards the lunch room, he saw Chad ahead of him, walking hand-in-hand with some girl he didn't recognize. Galen's eyebrows raised as he watched the girl walk, her short skirt rising up ever so slightly to reveal a bit more than most girls would be comfortable showing. With a chuckle, Galen quickened his pace a bit and caught up with the couple.
"Hey Chad. Showin' the new girl around?" Galen said with a knowing smile. "You've got an exceptional guide there." Galen winked at the girl as he clapped Chad on the back with a laugh.

"No no, it's alright... he left so fast though..." she said to Daniel "Well, if it's any consolation Delainee, I left all my friends too... It was hard, but distance means nothing, I'm sure you'll keep in touch and he'll be back in no time!" Illoana said, trying to cheer Delainee up. She felt bad that the cheerful girl she had observed not too long ago was so sad now.

"Tia, what about you? I bet you have some doodles with you."
"Ya, Tia, you have got to have some with you." Dana and Nathan both looked at Tia with anticipation. She thought about taking out the drawing she did of her mother, but thought that might seem like she was trying to show off. Since Nathan was the one to bring it up, she'd let him shine.
"Well actually, I think all I have is just the back of this old History assignment." Tia rummaged through her bag until she found her trapper keeper, labeled with folders of each hour and class and divided with sections for homework and graded papers. She dug through the graded papers section of the History folder, trying to find the doodle she was thinking of. "Here it is!" she exclaimed, taking it out and laying it on the table. "It's not much really, just some peace signs and trees."

(((ooc: Well, since Lila doesn't seem prone to get things resolved with J.D., and J.D. at this point would rather shoot himself in the foot than approach Lila, I guess it's up to Leigh to meddle. ;) *LOL*)))
After her run-in with that meek little girl Maria, Leigh continued on to the restroom where she improved her dark makeup, and ran her fingers through her hair. Why hadn't she bothered to brush it before going to school? She looked like she was fresh out of bed.
Ah, that's right. She was. Julie's mother had rushed them both, just so that they'd make it to the precious school on time.
"B*tch...", Leigh muttered under her breath as she returned the eyeliner to her bag.
She then left the restroom again, and headed for the cafeteria. She rarely ate in school, but not having eaten since the previous morning, she was now starving.
On her way she passed by Chad, chatting up another poor girl, and she couldn't keep from frowning. Not only was he a sleaze, he also reminded her of one of the biggest mistakes of her life, being the jock that he was.
A year ago she had attended a party - she'd forgotten where - and she'd gotten so drunk that when one of the jocks for some odd reason had made a pass at her, she hadn't refused him. She hadn't refused him then, and she hadn't refused when he wanted to take things further, in the bedroom. Honestly, she'd been too drunk to care. Big mistake. Big. HUGE. It hadn't taken the jock many hours to share the details with his friends, and soon everyone in the football team had known about it. And this was partly how the reputation that she was easy had gotten started. Not that she was completely innocent herself, but the jocks sure hadn't made matters any better.
Shuddering slightly at the memory, she picked up her pace to get as far away from any jock as possible. Minutes later she had managed to push it all out of her head, and so finally entered the cafeteria.
After having gotten in line and picked up an apple, she turned to leave and head outside, but stopped. Not far from her was the Oddball table, and sitting there was the girl that J.D. had talked to the other day; Lila. The one that had gotten him so very, very angry. Now, he hadn't said a word about it himself, but Leigh had known him long enough to be able to read the glances he'd shot Lila. And she was a girl, which meant she had her female intuition.
But what was the big deal about Lila, anyway? She didn't much seem like J.D.'s type. Calm, friendly, smiling, and just... so damned nice. What could she possibly have said or done to make him that touchy?
Tilting her head slightly, a smirk slowly formed on Leigh's lips. Maybe she should just...? Oh yes. She should. She definitely should.
Apple in hand, she made her way over to the table, where Delainee was just having what seemed to be a mental breakdown. Still, Leigh paid no attention to her. She just stopped by the table, her eyes locked on Lila and the smirk still playing at the corner of her mouth. For the longest time she didn't say a word, she just studied Lila, as she would a possible opponent. But just when it seemed Lila was about to ask, Leigh leaned down a little bit to speak in a low voice that was still audible enough to be heard over the loud murmur in the cafeteria.
"You know", she said. "You really should talk to him."
With that she straightened up, gave the other students by the table a quick glance, then turned and left before Lila even got a chance to react.

Pleased with having seen Sophie's look of shock at the "neck" comment, J.D. smiled. And the smile turned into a grin when she uttered the words "I'm new and learned all about Chad and his dirty ways". She was scoring points with him and Derek, that's for sure. Though it took a hell of alot more than that to actually be accepted by them.
"Anyways", Sophie continued, looking at Derek. "What's your name?"
"The Chipmaester, eh?" Derek said to J.D., a grin on his face as well. "We have to teach the new meat who to hang out with and who NOT to hang out with, don't we, J.D. ..."
J.D. smirked, and upon having his pack of cigarettes returned to him, lit up another one.
"If we have any responsibility, that would be the one", he replied with a nod.
Derek then looked over at Sophie again, and introduced himself, the aggressiveness from just a few moments ago having vanished.
"Derek. You don't look like the type who would cause trouble though. What brings you to this part of the school?"
With the hostility all gone, Sophie brightened up, and smiled at Derek. Could J.D. sense an attraction between the two? He was usually dense when it came to other people's interest in eachother, mainly because he didn't give a flying f*ck, but with both of them smiling like that... Who knew?
"Yeah," Sophie said. "I don't really cause trouble. I tend to get into trouble with school and the law but whatever its just for stupid stuff nothing too serious. But thanks for offering to help me out I feel so out of my element. Which is partially the reason why I'm over here I kinda got lost and noticed J.D. over here and decided to say hello."
J.D. laughed, and then ended up with another smirk on his lips.
"Girl's got a deathwish", he grinned at Derek, and then added, looking back at Sophie again. "Either that, or I'm not as scary-looking as I've been lead to believe."
He saw the look in Sophie's eyes, and remembering her words to him earlier, he quickly cut her off before she could say anything:
"Don't answer that."

((Thank GOD Atropa!! XD Lila was just sitting there like a dead fish. I couldn't get into her, and I had no idea how to resolve things with my favorite bad-boy-with-a-big-heart. :] Maybe she'll have to go through Leigh first))
Lila had been silently eating her lunch. All morning she had felt as if someone had been firmly gripping her lungs, constricting her breathing. She felt tired, lifeless. Not that she normally was a bundle of energy and joy when it came to school. But regardless, she was even less enthused than was her norm. She had drawn solstice from the energies of the delightfully odd people at her table. Her initial judgment of Delainee Rose hadn't been too far off; she was indeed the bouncy, bubbly, happy-as-can-be girl she had thought her to be. However, in Nemo's departure, she quickly found that she could be equally caught by sorrow and heaps of emotion.
'Poor thing,' she thought quietly, not able to find the words she was searching for to console her. Eeric's new friend, Illoana, however, spoke for her, with equally kind and reassuring words.
Her sandwich was edible, but far from enjoyable. Lila chewed it with a rather displeased expression before sitting it down and taking a bite from her apple instead. A flutter of movement and a wisp of black hair caught her attention before she could even swallow.
Approaching her, with a sort of graceful swagger that few possessed, was the beautiful dark-haired girl she had seen seated beside J.D. earlier. Leigh, she corrected herself. Not 'that girl'. Why was she coming over here? Lila had probably said all of ten words to her in her life. And most of them had been, "sorry, my fault, yes, no". Without saying a word, she reached the table and focused her intense gaze directly at Lila, not wavering an inch. Upon her lips was a sort of all-knowing smirk, and yet from those lips came no words. Lila sat quietly, trying to anticipate her next move. After what felt like an eternity, Lila parted her lips to speak, but almost simultaneously, she cut her off and said in a low, cool tone,
"You know. You really should talk to him."
Without waiting a moment longer, she pivoted and began to walk away. She and J.D. were two of a kind; that was a trait they both shared.
"H-hey!" Lila called after her, rising to her feet and smiling apologetically to her table. "Sorry, I think I have to speak with her," she gave a nod and grabbed her bag, jogging to catch up with Leigh. Once behind her, she gently tapped her on the shoulder and froze, hoping that invasion of physical space was not something that she would use as a reason to attack her. Although Lila couldn't say she knew this Leigh girl, she knew of her reputation, and it wasn't exactly the kind that would prompt one to go up to her and give her a hug.
"He who?" Although her brows had furrowed and her face had twisted into a confused expression, Lila knew all too well who he was. She was just still too stubborn and unwilling to admit it. "A-and, you're Leigh, correct?" Lila extended a slender hand to the girl, managing a small, self-assured smile.

"Well, if it's any consolation Delainee, I left all my friends too... It was hard, but distance means nothing, I'm sure you'll keep in touch and he'll be back in no time!" Illoana spoke, empathy alight on her mysterious face. Delainee shuddered at her lack of adding 'Rose' to the end of her name, but she let it slide since she was new. Or, at least she thought she was. She rubbed her bloodshot eyes a bit more, and wrapped her fingers around Nemo's lunch box, scooting it closer towards her as if it were a comfort blanket. She would need to hold on to that for him, for when he came back.
Delainee smiled up at Illoana then, and it was as if tears had never graced her porcelain skin (aside from the redness of her eyes), "Thanks, Eleanor," somewhere, Daniel corrected her, but Delainee didn't seem to hear him. "That's a good reminder. I'm not the only one who is suffering a loss, besides, even if he misses the dance...he'll be back! And we'll be the Delainee Rose and Nemo team we've always been, eh wot, Danniboy?"
"Eh, wot!" Daniel muttered from behind his mounting stack of lucky charms marshmallows.
"But eh-" her thoughts were thrown off, however, from that bored beauty she'd seen in the classroom. Leigh. Delainee gave a little wave, but as expected Leigh ignored her. She instead was focusing her attention on the innocent beauty, Lila. Delainee Rose glanced back and forth between the two as Leigh addressed her, sputtering out something that made a light bulb flicker to life within the small blonde's mind.
"You know. You really should talk to him," Leigh had said. Lila had had a fight with some guy. Some guy was 'him'. 'Him' was a bad boy. Bad boy was a boy she thought was named J.P., wait no. It was J.D. So...him...was...J.D.? Aha! It all made sense! Delainee grinned as Lila apologized, and ran after the mysterious girl who'd vanished as soon as she came.
"Jeez. What's up with her?" Illoana half questioned, half snarled. Delainee half-smiled, glanced at Illoana and then over at Eeric. He was quite suave, if not a little dark and brooding. The thought made her chuckle. What were the two of them doing sitting at the bright and peppy table?
"Ah, I'm sure she's just going to talk to J.D." Delainee sighed, spinning her finger off in circles across the table. "They have such a beautiful relationship. Like a pansy in a garden of roses..."

Illoana smiled at Delainee Rose's uniqueness. She really was something.
She then sighed : "Guess it'll be a while before I know who's who and what's going on with who... Not that I care too much but I feel so ignorant for now. Which is normal, since I just got here."
Delainee was glancing back and forth from her to Eeric, smiling and chuckling a bit.
"Wha... What is it?" She looked down at her black T-shirt to see if she had spilled something over it, then looked at Eeric to check his shirt too, but stopped to stare at his face, that she found more and more attractive by the minute. She wasn't realizing that she was staring at him with a dreamy expression on her face.

Once Eeric was certain that Delainee Rose had calmed down, he returned to his seat beside Illoana, eating his salad. It was really quite remarkable how she had recovered from her near-break-down and now managed to be smiling again.
His gaze flickered to the girl he'd seen sitting behind him last period, Leigh, as she approached their table. Quite a beauty, but what a fierce look. You'd think she'd smile more, with a pretty face like that. Not so many smirks. He shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly, as if shrugging off the thoughts, and instead took another bite of his salad, listening to the soul line she delivered to the fair Lila.
"You know, you really should talk to him."
"How cryptic," he murmured to Illoana, quirking a brow and taking a sip of his drink. Who was this him? And why should Lila talk to him? Not that it was any of his business. He shrugged his shoulders again. Lila quickly got to her feet and departed, chasing after Leigh. Hm. Must be a matter of importance.
"Ah, I'm sure she's just going to talk to J.D." Delainee Rose explained, chipper as ever. Eeric quirked a brow. J.D.? Wasn't he that tough-ass kid who he heard punched a freshman simply for looking in his general direction? What the hell would Lila have to do with him?
"Maybe he's blackmailing her," he muttered with a grin, trying to think up a reason the two opposites would have any reason to speak.
"They have such a beautiful relationship. Like a pansy in a garden of roses..."
Eeric had been in the middle of taking a sip from his drink when he heard Delainee Rose, and he couldn't help but sputter.
"The two of them? A beautiful relationship? I know they say opposites attract, but honestly. Not that Lila couldn't see good in anyone, but what would J.D. associate with her for?" His gaze was perplexed as he tried to read Delainee Rose's response, instead he felt Illoana staring at him and he glanced over to her. "Eh? Something on my face?" he ran a hand over his visage, hoping he hadn't been sloppy while eating.

14th Aug 2007, 12:29 AM
Daniel smiled over at Delainee, feeling that a better interpretation of their relationship might be a rose in a field of pansies, but whatever. He didn't care for roses anyway. It was then that he noticed her observing the two shady figures at their table with a laugh, and after exchanging glances with her, he began to let out a low chuckle as well.
"Wha... What is it?" Illoana questioned, looking kind of surprised. She examined herself, and then proceeded to look over Eeric, as if searching for some sort of mess. Her eyes then scraped upwards, and Daniel felt Delainee stiffen aside him. He glanced over in confusion. The expression on her face...he'd only seen her use it when she saw someone flirting with him or Nemo. It was a casual look, something even Nemo couldn't pick out. She did a strange little flicking motion with the corner of her mouth, and her laugh faltered for the smallest of seconds. However, that was all Daniel needed to pick up on his sister's distress--or better yet, her jealousy. But, why was she jealous? She'd only known this guy for a few minutes. Sure, he was attractive, but usually Delainee didn't let herself get attached to anyone, even after months and months, at least romantically anyway. He chuckled at her expression--knowing it was probably nothing more than one of her mere crushes that seemed to surface with every new case that passed her way. Still...
Meanwhile, Eeric seemed to be more concerned about the unfurling situation, "The two of them? A beautiful relationship? I know they say opposites attract, but honestly. Not that Lila couldn't see good in anyone, but what would J.D. associate with her for?" He seemed distracted, though, when he caught sight of Illoana watching him. "Eh? Something on my face?"
"What?" Illoana said, as if snapped from some deep daze, "Oh! No no! I... I'm sorry I was daydreaming... and you happened to be in front of me when my brain turned on sleep mode...heh!"
Daniel gave a nervous laugh as Delainee fidgeted. He was pretty sure she didn't realize she had a crush on him. She never did, and that included the fever she had for Nemo. Either she was too dense, too on the go, or too happy with being friends to ever realize such a thing. At this thought, Daniel smiled. Oh, well, that meant he wouldn't have to worry about his sister getting herself emotionally scarred any time soon.
Delainee gave a dreamy sigh, and allowed her head to fall into her hand, "Yeah...it's really beautiful. You never hear about anyone besides the preps and the jocks breaking the rules bound by the cliques. Ever, it's unheard of. And yet almost polar opposites a normie and a bad boy, finding love..." she squealed and bounced in the stool. The excitement was almost too much for her to handle. "If I could find myself something like that, I would be set. But no. Nope nope nope. It won't. I already know what's going to happen to me. I'm going to chase after my dream as an actress, but it's going to evade my reach, I'm going to fall flat on my ass, and," she snatched Daniel's slushie and took a sip of it for a dramatic silence before slapping it back down on the table, "I'm going to live by myself for the rest of my life with nothing but a bunch of cats to keep me company."
Delainee's expression, however, wasn't distraught, rather, she looked kind of happy. Daniel'd heard this tale a thousand times over. He could recite it as if it had been his own.
"But don't get me wrong though!" she laughed. "I don't think it would be so bad! Scaring off the little children every morning, kicking out the cane, 'GET OFF MY LAWN, DAMMIT!'" Delainee screamed, rising in her seat and shaking an imaginary cane at a passing boy, who shied away from her with a disgusted and confused look on his face.

Eeric ran his hand over his face again as a reflex, as if just making sure that no bit of lettuce had somehow managed to plaster itself to one of his fair cheeks.
What? Oh! No no! I... I'm sorry I was daydreaming... and you happened to be in front of me when my brain turned on sleep mode...heh!"
He chuckled and gave an understanding nod, being one to zone out his own fair share. "No worries. Just wanted to make sure I hadn't made a fool of myself being a careless eater," he finished his salad and tossed it in the trash, just in time to hear a dreamy sigh coming from Delainee Rose.
"Yeah...it's really beautiful. You never hear about anyone besides the preps and the jocks breaking the rules bound by the cliques. Ever, it's unheard of. And yet almost polar opposites a normie and a bad boy, finding love..."
He wrinkled his nose, caught off guard by her words. He hadn't even thought of the idea that perhaps the two of them could actually like one another. They were just so different. He of all people was open minded, not really bothered by the cliques that ruled their school, but such a relationship just seemed so far-fetched.
"Huh." he said simply, a smile creasing his lips. "Whoodathunkit?" A small laugh escaped and he shook his head, as if pleased by the idea of two people from opposite cliques liking each other. "Sort of like Romeo and Juliet. How romantic," he sighed deeply, taking a sip of his juice and grinning at Delainee Rose with the look of glee etched upon her face. In a few moments it had dissipated, however, and she moved on.
"If I could find myself something like that, I would be set. But no. Nope nope nope. It won't. I already know what's going to happen to me. I'm going to chase after my dream as an actress, but it's going to evade my reach, I'm going to fall flat on my ass, and, I'm going to live by myself for the rest of my life with nothing but a bunch of cats to keep me company."
Eeric clapped his drink down emphatically, a determined look on his face. He shook his head no, and nodded to her.
"Delainee Rose, that's just not true! I'm sure you'll find something as wonderful as that. I believe we all can. And as hackneyed as it sounds, if you truly give it all you've got to become an actress, then I'm certain you'll be successful. And even if you don't, I'm sure life has something equally wonderful and perfect for you in store. Everything happens for a reason," he nodded knowingly, offering her a bright smile. "Besides, cat's aren't that bad. They're quite sweet," he added with a laugh before finishing with a note of seriousness. "But stay positive. Good things happen to good people."

Maria's gaze was still on Eeric and the girl as they sat down at their table. Much to Maria's shock, Eeric actually looked at her and Luce and smiled, then waved a bit. Maria felt the warmth in her cheeks as she blushed and turned away quickly, with a quiet groan.
She had just been happy to see the new girl find someone to keep her company. Maria knew all too well what it was like to be alone, and she had been finding herself pleasantly surprised by the people who were labelled as "goth". They all seemed rather nice. But now Eeric had seen her staring at him and probably thought she was some kind of weird-o.Maria pushed her turkey sandwich away from her and slouched in her seat a bit.
"So, are you two planning on going to that Halloween Ball?" Maria asked the Luce and Lori.

Sophie smiled " Thanks your pretty nice, I was almost afraid that both of you would end up beating me up" Sophie looked around and added ," You know, for entering your turf. Anyways how long have you guys known each other?"
"Nice?" Derek said scowling "We're not nice!"
He then calmed down again, grinned once more. "You're just too innocent for me to find a reason to be mad at you". It sounded more like a tease, but he shoved the idea away.
He punched J.D.'s shoulder lightly and continued: "Me and J.D. here? We've known each other for 3 years. Met in detention. Good times, good times... oh, and feel free to enter our turf when you like. like I said, you're too innocent for any of us to wanna beat you up. Just don't look for reasons to piss me off."
He took the pack of cigarettes from J.D.'s pocket, put a second smoke to his mouth and opened the pack to Sophie.
"Smoke?"

"Delainee Rose, that's just not true!" Eeric cried, and Delainee's imaginary cane fell down a bit at her side as her arm slowly lowered. She blinked once, then twice at the young man. He was-gasp!-defying her! Delainee!
I'm sure you'll find something as wonderful as that. I believe we all can. And as hackneyed as it sounds, if you truly give it all you've got to become an actress, then I'm certain you'll be successful.
But he was doing it so sweetly! It almost sounded like something Nemo would have said. Her heart swelled, and she brushed a little bit of blonde out of her face. She wasn't nervous just because an attractive young man was encouraging her to chase after her dreams, but also because someone besides Daniel and Nemo was telling her that she could do it. Everyone else laughed in her face and pushed her back down.
"And even if you don't, I'm sure life has something equally wonderful and perfect for you in store. Everything happens for a reason. Besides, cat's aren't that bad. They're quite sweet," Eeric grinned, his voice laced with a playfulness for a moment, but then his voice fell into a more serious nature, "But stay positive. Good things happen to good people."
Delainee's lower lip began to quiver. Such kind words! She clapped a hand to her heart, and from her perch atop her seat, she slammed her other other foot down upon the lunch table.
"Your words have moved me Eeric! You're right! Never again shall I waver fr- Eeee!" Delainee, however, was cut short as Daniel pulled her down from her new dramatic pose. He shook his head, and muttered something about warning her on overacting. Delainee nodded with a frown from her new position sprawled across the floor. "Ah! You know what I could do?" Delainee sprung up in an instant, eyes alight and arms thrashing through her purse with a newfound ferocity. "I'm going to text Nemz real quick. I don't know if he's got his phone on him, but...AHAH!"
So, she dutifully punched in a few letters and sent the completed message to Nemo:
Hey Nemikins! Where are yooh? What happened? Come home! :'[

"Nice?" Derek said scowling "We're not nice!"
Hearing this Sophie raised an eyebrow and looked at J.D
"You're just too innocent for me to find a reason to be mad at you".
Sophie watched as Derek punched J.D's shoulder something that she would never do for risk of being decapitated. Diverting her attention back to Derek he continued on.
"Me and J.D. here? We've known each other for 3 years. Met in detention. Good times, good times... oh, and feel free to enter our turf when you like. like I said, you're too innocent for any of us to wanna beat you up. Just don't look for reasons to piss me off."
Watching Derek take the pack from J.D and taking a cigarette for himself he offered her one "Smoke?".
"Naw,but thanks anyways I got my own. And I only smoke Newport. No offense its just my preference unless I don't have any"
Sophie picked up her bag picked up her blue jean tote she found her pack putting them in her hand while simultaneously holding the tote she rummaged for her favorite bic lighter, pink with white swirls. Frowning she looked up at Derek.
"Hey do you have a lite, I can't seemed to find my baby."
Continuing to search she felt like she might cry. I mean its just a lighter but they'd been through some amazing times and some tough times. Sighing she remembered this morning her mom complaining about something and searching around her room for something while Sophie was sleeping.
"That bitch!" Letting out an angry grunt.
Sophie was going to kill her if she lost it knowing her she did that with all of her lighters and thats why she constantly stole Sophie's but if shed taking her baby shed kill her I mean she had plenty lying around why take the baby?

[[ That worked out fine! That was exactally what I was going to have happen to him, only he would just be called on the intercom, but you added a little bit of drama XD Also, I felt incredibly sad writing this post ;-; Poor little Nemo & Delainee Rose. ]]
It seemed so fast for Nemo. One minute he was in the cafeteria chatting with his friends old and new. The next, he was on the phone with his angry father.
"NEMO AKAKIOS SHUMPERT, how DARE you leave without so much as letting me know, or saying good bye!!" Papa yelled into the phone. He had to hold it two inches away from his ear to keep it from busting his brain out the other side.
"But you know I-I'm bad w-with leaving, and I really missed my fr-friends aand-" He wimpered back. It didn't help that the principal was staring at him blankly like a complete idiot.
"I DON'T EVEN CARE!! Why?! Why would you do such a thing to me?! Your bed was empty, no note-"
"But, I got back. I already knew how to get there and all I did was call Mama, and and get my ticket online I thought you would be-"
"PROUD? Proud that you could get back by yourself?! No, no I'm not. And I'll never be proud of you, you were an accident and tore me apart from your Mother. You give me bad name. Why couldn't you have been a normal boy? Huh? Was that to much to ask?!" He continued to yell. Nemo was reduced down to a sob, he tried to speak, but couldn't. Not even the tears could be suppressed, and he felt his face redden with heat. He realized it was a bad idea to leave without telling, but he thought he would understand. He hated Greece, and his father. He absolutely did not want to go back. He wanted to stay here, with his caring mom, his friends, and go to the dance with Delainee Rose and eat candy. And block all of that out.
"I'll have you know that your mother is printing out your ticket right this second, that crazy confused bitch! You disappoint her too!!" Nemo wiped a stream of tears off his cheek and sighed. "Look, Nemo. I love you and care about you," Lies. All lies. He wouldn't have cared if the plane crashed and he was dead. So, selfish...
"I'll see you tomorrow at 7:21 PM," He called as he slammed down the phone. Nemo whispered, "bye." into the empty line, before gently placing the phone down with his trembling hand. He looked outside and saw his mother's lime Mustang GT in the pick-up line. Not making eye contact or speaking to the principal, he walked out the door and climbed into his mother's car. Her face was weary and tired. He was embarassed.
They were almost halfway home whenever he finally spoke, "Mama, I love you."
-------------------------------------
Nemo found himself, once again, packing his suitcase. It kind of felt like he was going back in time. Only this time there was more tears and hate packed inside.
"Mo, have you eaten lunch? Where's you lunchbox?" His mom called up the stairs weakly.
"No, sorry. I left it," he answered, suddenly remembering. He wondered what Delainee was doing right now. He was more mad at his father for making her upset than shipping him back. He tried to push that out of his mind for the moment being.
"Well, do you want me to go get some McDonalds or something? You want a Happy Meal?"
Smiling, he replied, "Yes Mama, that would be nice." Knowing that this would be the last meal he ate with her for 2 weeks, he would enjoy it even if it utterly disgusting. It was sort of like, self punishment.
After he heard his mother close the garage door, he quickly picked up his cell phone. One new messege: "Hey Nemikins! Where are yooh? What happened? Come home! :'["
He knew exactally who it was from without looking at the number. He speed-dialed Delainee's cell, even though he had memorized it forward and back. Of course there was no answer, for she was most likely still in school. He left a messege, "Hey, Del. It's me. I'm really sorry for my abrupt departor. I hate the office, by the way. I hope you, Daniel, Eeric, Iris, and the new girl have fun at the Ball! Take lots of pictures! I know you're going to pick up a couple new friends along the way, too. I hate my dad. I think you are smart enough to figure out why. Well, I'll be bringing my cell phone with me, but it doesn't work in Greece, so if my Grandmother let's me, I'll sneak and use their phone to call you. Well, I think that's about it. Wait, no. Actually I left my lunchbox, and if you could just kind of keep it until I get back I would appreciate it. Don't worry, when I get back we'll do something really fun! Well, I'll talk to you later! I love you! Bye," he said. He pressed 'end' with his thumb and held the slim electronic in his palm for a moment. He felt relieved, and somewhat like the weight had been lifted. If he knew she would be okay, than he would be okay.

He didn't answer, but took out his black Zippo from his pocket and handed it to Sophie. But the girl didn't even look at him and seemed too busy still looking for her "baby".
"That bitch!" she yelled, unexpectedly.
Derek smiled at that reaction: "I like you even more now."
He walked closer to her, close enough for his stomach to level her head.
"Baby you say?" he asked with a smirk on his face, a brow raised above his green eyes, half hidden by his messy hair.

Luce had come over to the empty, hidden table they always sat at, but Lori was feeling rather sick. She had brought over new meat: A pretty blonde girl, but she looked sweet. She wasn't in quite the mood to think about it though, her stomach was feeling rather, well, bad. Luce had playfully introduced them, and they sat down. They kept telling and asking her things, but all she could do was look at them. "Excuse me, I have to pee," she blurted out, crudely leaving with her tray. As she sprinted to the bathroom, she dumped out the "food" and threw the tray at the can. Which missed and hit the ground crashing, but she didn't really care. All she could think was, "Damn you milk-" as she flung her head over the toilet seat and puked. And puked again. Avoiding what it looked like, and the horrible smell, she flushed and approched the sink and mirrors. She looked like hell, her face was paler than usual, and her eyes were bloodshot. Plus there was a little bit of throw up on the corner of her lips, which she quickly wiped off with a paper towel. Splashing some cold water on her hot face, she thought of what she would do next-
Before she knew it, she was driving home. She called her mom's work on her cell, but she was on lunch break. But whatever, she couldn't really do anything for her anyway, she could take care of herself. She wasn't three, but she couldn't treat food poisoning.

Derek had taken out a black Zippo but Sophie hadn't even noticed she was to busy looking for her baby.
"I like you even more now." Derek walked closer but Sophie didn't even look up.
"Baby you say?"
Sophie let out an frustrated breath. " Yes my baby, its my pink and white bic and I've had it for like ever and I can't find it and if my mom took it I'm going to just kill her. You wouldn't understand its just..."
Sophie looked up at Derek to see him smiling at her with a mischievous look on his face. " Its not funny Derek this is horrible you don't even understand. My mom is always losing her lighters because well she just her, but she usually just takes one of mine but I usually don't care but she knows not to take this one and she did!"
Reaching into her bag again she grabbed her sidekick and dialed her moms number in.
Ring.. Ring.. Ring...
"Hello"
" Hey mom you.."
" I told you not to call me that I'm Loretta. I wish you'd remember that"
"Fine Loretta, this morning did you by chance see my pink and white lighter?"
"Yea, why are you asking about it your at school you don't need it"
"MOM! Did you take it?!"
" Loretta! How many times do I have to tell you Jesus. Yea I took it why do you care?"
" Ahhh!" Looking at Derek she quickly turned around and whispered as for Derek not to hear her. He already probably thought she was crazy.
" Mom you know not to take the baby. I can't believe you did this to me"
"Hmph, maybe if you'd remember to call me by my name then maybe I'd remember about your stupid lighter. Anyways Sophie I'm at work I can't talk about this right now. We'll talk later. bye!"
"Mom!" Sophie yelled in the phone but shed already hung up.
Turning back around she faked a smile to Derek grabbed the lighter.
"thanks"
Leaning back against the wall she lit up and slid down the wall till she was sitting on the ground knees to her chest. Letting the smoke out of her lungs she looked up.

Smiling to herself, Leigh headed out of the cafeteria. That had been been fun. And the look on everyone's face had been priceless. Lila's especially.
Although, J.D. would probably kill Leigh if he found out what she'd done, but at least she would die laughing. And hey, it had been for his own sake, after all.
"H-hey!" she heard Lila shout behind her, but pretended not to hear.
Seconds later, she heard footsteps, and then someone - most likely Lila - tapped her own the shoulder. Immediately she stopped and quickly spun around, a glare in her eyes that would've nailed anyone to the wall.
But when she saw the dread on Lila's face, she couldn't help but to smirk. The girl might be bold, but at least she knew what she could expect when daring to bothe Leigh.
"He who?", she asked, causing Leigh to raise an eyebrow in amusement. "A-and, you're Leigh, correct?"
While talking, she offered a hand up for a handshake, which sent Leigh's other eyebrow shooting up. A handshake? What year was this?
Leigh never had made a habit of shaking people's hands, even when introducing herself. Her arms usually just stayed crossed over her chest, and so that's what happened this time as well.
"Well, well, well...", she said, folding her arms across her chest. "You've been paying attention."
She looked Lila up and down, slowly, from her auburn hair to her shoes, and back again, as if evaluating her.
"So...", she then continued. "'He who', huh? Are you insulting me by saying I wasn't clear enough? Or are you insulting him by having forgotten him already? Or are you insulting your own intelligence by pretending you don't know exactly whom I'm talking about?"

"Joking?" Izabel let out a soft laugh and flipped her phone. "If you don't follow the rules, you can't sit with us...EVER. You see, last year, this girl wore this disgusting vest and she had to go sit with the art geeks." Izabel pointed at the art table with a bunch of geeks with splats of paint all over their plaid over-sized collared shirts. Punching in numbers, Izabel quickly dialed Regina, hoping to get any answer. She had not seen the girl today and was worried.
As the girl excused herself, Izabel sat at the table, alone with no food. In a couple of tones, Regina picked. "Regina? Yeah, like get to the table RIGHT now. Seriously, where the hell are you? You're supposed to sit with us, you whore." She quickly said without her speaking a word. Surely the whore part was a joke but Regina WAS supposed to sit with her every single day. "So, are you two planning on going to that Halloween Ball?" Maria asked Luce and Lori.
Luce shrugged “I’d like to go but y’know home stuff. I’m not sure if well mum would be uhm.. I do want to go.” An unhappy expression fell over her face, she’d probably have to work, or stay home and keep an eye on mum. It wasn’t like she could afford a new dress anyway so she’d turn up, dateless, in some old rags whilst everyone else looked like princesses. She tried to pretend that she didn’t care abut that stuff but really she had no choice.
A sudden movement from Lori dragged Luce from her self pity. “Excuse me, I have to pee," Lori said .
“Hey Lori, what’s up.” She called as Lori dashed from the table but she got no response. Luce gave her retreating back a long look of concern but decided to leave her be. She hadn’t seemed like she wanted to be around people much anyway. But the green tint to her hand't seemed at all healthy. Perhaps she was experimenting with some new cosmetics. She'd once had some stuff that was supposed to dull down redness but had left her looking like the incredible hulk.
She turned her attention back to Maria who seemed sweet enough, a little shy perhaps, but Luce was determined to draw her out of herself a little. She hadn’t shrunk away in fear of the dyed hair and piercings or mocked her and that made her alright in Luce’s book. She never cared much for the whole click business, only hanging out with people who got the same label as you soon got boring. Like eating nothing but chips, all day, everyday, forever.
She pushed her thumb through one of the holes in her jumper stretching the arm over her hand and turned back to Maria forcing a cheerful smile. “So I presume you’re going to go to the Ball. Got a date? Or anyone you plan on asking?” Her eyebrow tilted upwards quizzically.

“I’d like to go but y’know home stuff. I’m not sure if well mum would be uhm.. I do want to go.” Luce ended her words with an unhappy expression, and Maria just nodded in understanding. She wasn't extremely happy about the prospect of the Halloween Ball either, though she wouldn't pretend to know Luce's reasonings for her unhappiness. To Maria the Ball sounded like it could be fun...if you were one of the kids with friends or a boyfriend. Maria had neither, making the Ball sound like yet another reminder of her loneliness.
Just then Lori stood from the table, excusing herself in a hurry. She didn't look so well and Maria contemplated going after her. She quickly decided against it though, as she'd just met the girl and didn't want to overstep any boundaries. Not to mention that Luce didn't chase after her, and the two of them were friends. Maria furrowed her brow, hoping Lori was okay, before pulling her sandwich back towards her and picking at it a bit.
“So I presume you’re going to go to the Ball. Got a date? Or anyone you plan on asking?” Luce asked with a raised brow.
Maria looked at Luce, her cheeks blushing slightly before she returned her gaze to her sandwich. "I don't have a date, and I could never ask someone. I'd only be rejected. Guys don't exactly notice me. No one notices me," Maria said with a frown before shaking her head slightly. "I don't think I'm going to the Ball. It would just be the torture of standing in the corner alone and watching everyone else having fun, reminding me what a complete loser I am."
Maria felt tears stinging at her eyes as she clenched her jaw to keep from losing her composure. She hated feeling sorry for herself, but it was hard not to when she usually seemed so invisible. Finally feeling the stinging in her eyes subside, Maria looked at Luce.
"I think if you want to go to the Ball, then you should. You have friends you could go with," Maria said with a small smile.

Maria sounded so unhappy that she pushed her own troubles from her mind. The girl was being brutally honest and Luce returned her smile. “You’re not invisible, I noticed you. And besides being noticed is way overrated. Do you really want to be stared at every time you walk down the street? Sure sometimes its fun but other days you wish people would just let you be who you wanner be and leave you in peace.”
Luce laughed, “If you want to be noticed, I can soon fix that, a few dreads some heavy makeup. Hell, it’s easy.” She joked not thinking Maria would accept her offer for a minute but continued on a more serious note. “ No promises but if I can go you can come along with me. Maria listened as Luce talked about being noticed, and how it wasn't all it was cracked up to be. Maria smiled and laughed a bit, thinking that Luce probably got noticed plenty...though not exactly in the way Maria had been thinking about.
“If you want to be noticed, I can soon fix that, a few dreads some heavy makeup. Hell, it’s easy.” Luce laughed, before a serious expression came over her face. “No promises but if I can go you can come along with me. I’m not a guy but. well I’m a killer o the dance floor. And I’m positive no-one would mind.”
Maria smiled at Luce. "I think I'll pass on the makeup and dreads. My dad would kill me!" she laughed. "But if you can go and don't mind me tagging along, then I'll go too. Of course, if some tall, dark, and handsome guy asks you to be his date, then all bets are off. I'd much rather see you getting some hot eye candy to parade around anyway." Maria shrugged as she said the last part, picking up her sandwich and taking a bite with a smile.
It was true, Maria would be thankful to have someone to at least talk to if she went to the Ball. She really would much rather see Luce with a handsome date though. Maria had never been one to land the dates, but it always pleased her to see someone else find someone to make them happy. Maria wasn't the jealous-type, and seeing happy couples always gave her hope.

She got off on the bright cafeteria bench and walked out of the crowded room. Stupid, stupid, stupid! She walked with her hand on her forehead. For a moment she closed her eyes, thinking about how to get back into Izabel's good graces. But then she bumped into something.
"Ohmigod I'm,like, so-," she began , taking her hand off her head. Then she smiled and relaxed. "Chad!" Her happiness dimmed slightly, though it only showed for a tiny moment, when she saw the slender brunette holding his hand. "I'm not supposed to talk to you."

She reached down inside, then pulled out something with tons of folders with divided sections. She went through it until she yelled, "Here it is!", and I looked up to see she had placed her doodles on the lunchroom table. "It's not much really, just some peace signs and trees."

While Derek and Sophie chatted, seemingly getting on really well, J.D. merely watched them, and listened. Even though he'd said that Sophie seemed to be "cool", he wasn't yet ready to fully accept her. She obviously had a temper, and wasn't as sweet and innocent as she appeared to be, but still, it took more than that to earn J.D.'s respect, and trust. Derek, however, almost seemed ready to accept her as part of the gang.
J.D. grinned to himself. He wondered how Leigh would handle it, if that turned out to be the case. She may have an easier time getting along with people in general, but when it came to her friends, she was a tiger; territorial, and fiercely defensive. She wouldn't accept just anyone in their little clique.
No sooner had the thought entered his mind, than Sophie seemed to have a minor nervous breakdown about... a lighter? J.D. raised an eyebrow, wondering to himself if she was for real. A bit of a drama queen, wasn't she? Though when shooting Derek a glance, J.D. saw that he didn't seem too irked about it. Amused, was more like it.
"So...", J.D. said when the breakdown had blown over, turning to his friend as Sophie slid down the wall, muttering 'Unbelievable'. "Where have you been all day? You missed some real action."
He nodded at his own statement, and added, trying to look completely serious;
"Poetry in English class. Everyone had to pick a poem, and read it out loud. There was some really good sh*t in there. Dreams, ravens, lovers, knights, Shakespeare, crap like that."

"Man, stop now, you're gonna make me puke. I was sleeping. More useful than f***in' English class." Derek answered, completely ignoring Sophie who had curled up on the the floor, obviously upset.
"The a**hole who's sharing my house is the first name on my black list." he said to J.D., making sure no one was listening to them. "I swear, if I don't come to school for five days in a row, you'll know it's because I'll be in jail for murder. F***er... thinks he rules the place."
He sighed. He really couldn't take it anymore.
Then he looked at J.D. again: "Hey, what was up with that girl you were with? What's her name again?... and what the f*** was up with you yesterday? You were acting like everyone was the Chipmaester." He paused for a second, realizing he hadn't seen Leigh yet. "And where the heck is Leigh?"

"Man, stop now, you're gonna make me puke," Derek said, truely looking as if he was about to vomit, and J.D. grinned.
English class sure hadn't been pleasant, but at least he could make fun of it now, once he was out of there.
"I was sleeping", Derek continued, forgetting all about Sophie who was still on the ground. "More useful than f***in' English class."
His expression changed, and it was an expression J.D. had seen before. Hate and contempt were etched on his every feature, and his next sentence didn't come as a surprise:
"The a**hole who's sharing my house is the first name on my black list. I swear, if I don't come to school for five days in a row, you'll know it's because I'll be in jail for murder. F***er... thinks he rules the place."
J.D. nodded. He knew how much Derek despised his stepfather. And from what J.D. had seen, he had every reason. The man was a waste of oxhygen.
But before he could comment on it, Derek changed the subject.
"Hey, what was up with that girl you were with? What's her name again?... And what the f*** was up with you yesterday? You were acting like everyone was the Chipmaester."
Oh great. Her again. J.D. just couldn't seem to get away from what had happened the day before. Whenever he tried, there was always something to remind him.
Shifting uncomfortably, he was just about to try and wriggle himself out of that particular topic, when Derek unintentionally spared him the effort;
"And where the heck is Leigh?"
Mouth still open from a few moments before, J.D. simply looked at him, before his words sank in. Once they did, J.D. grinned, partly because of thinking about Leigh's anticts in the past two classes, but also mostly because he was relieved to get away from the subject of Lila. At least for now.
"She had to go to the little girl's room", he said with a mischievous smile curving his lips, and then laughed. "Man, you should've heard her in English class. She actually did a poem. Can you believe it? I nearly fell off my chair. But the best part was the actual poem."
He laughed again, thinking about the short but nonetheless very provokative verse.
"It was about suicide. Razors and drugs and guns and sh*t. You should've seen the look on Ms Summer's face!"

Derek saw J.D. hesitate before answering, which made him raise an eyebrow, but relaxed when he saw a big grin taking place on J.D.'s face.
"She had to go to the little girl's room", he said with a mischievous smile curving his lips, and then laughed. "Man, you should've heard her in English class. She actually did a poem. Can you believe it? I nearly fell off my chair. But the best part was the actual poem."
Derek raised his eyebrows again, this time as a sign of surprise. Leigh read a poem? In all the time he had known her, he was sure that Leigh would prefer dancing naked with penguins than reading a poem. Surprises just kept on coming: J.D. hanging out with a girl randomly, then acting like a monster the day before, him actually being nice to a girl he just met (What the f*** is wrong with me?? he thought), and now Leigh reading poems.
J.D. laughed again and continued, shaking Derek's thoughts away:
"It was about suicide. Razors and drugs and guns and sh*t. You should've seen the look on Ms Summer's face!"
Derek was laughing out loud by the end of his sentence.
"Are you serious?? Man, you scared me at first, but what you just told me is just so like Leigh!"
He realized then that J.D. had not even mentioned the girl Derek had asked about. His behavior of the day before had been an avoided subject too in all he had told him. He didn't want to bother him with it. If he hadn't told him, it meant he wasn't ready to talk to him about it, or simply had reason to. But he still wanted to make a point clear:
"Look, if you need to talk or anything, I'm wide open. Can't say I'm the fairy godmother to make any pain go away, but you know, it's sometimes useful to talk."
Just before J.D. answered, he added: "Don't tell anyone I just told you that. What is up with me today, being all nice and emotional? Punch me now, PLEASE!"

"Are you serious?" Derek laughed, obviously appreciating Leigh's morbid side just as much as J.D. had. "Man, you scared me at first, but what you just told me is just so like Leigh!"
"I know, it was great," J.D. grinned back at him. "She shut them up good."
Though looking at Derek, he soon realized the boy's thoughts had taken yet a new direction, as he now looked more serious than just seconds earlier.
"Look," he said casually, but with a tone of sincerity underneath. "If you need to talk or anything, I'm wide open. Can't say I'm the fairy godmother to make any pain go away, but you know, it's sometimes useful to talk."
J.D. winced mentally. So much for avoiding the topic. He'd hoped Derek would've already forgotten about what he'd first brough up, before asking about Leigh. But, no such luck.
And while J.D. actually had enough sense to appreciate his buddy being there, he wasn't the sensitive or sentimental type, especially not about or around girls.
But before he got a chance to answer, Derek rescued him once again, turning the situation a bit more humorous by adding;
"Don't tell anyone I just told you that. What is up with me today, being all nice and emotional? Punch me now, PLEASE!"
And again, J.D.'s slightly disturbed expression changed into a wide grin.
"Hey, you don't have to ask me twice", he said, giving Derek the same kind of punch he'd given J.D. earlier, and topping it off with a friendly shove. "Just shut up, you pansy."
Though the look in his eyes let Derek know that despite his harsh words, he was grateful. But J.D. was J.D., and thus was unable to do anything but hide it behind a mask of rough brutishness.

"Well actually, I think all I have is just the back of this old History assignment," Tia said, turning to her bag. She reached down inside, then pulled out something with tons of folders with divided sections. She went through it until she yelled, "Here it is!", and I looked up to see she had placed her doodles on the lunchroom table. "It's not much really, just some peace signs and trees."
"No, no," I said. "It's really good, amazing actually." I smiled at her, glad she had shown me her drawings. "You two are really good at drawing, so I'm guessing you're both in the art club?"
I figured they were, they're both really good artistically, but it was just a guess, they could be in theatre for all I know.
I turned to face the both of them, still really amazed at the pictures that they drew.
"No, no, It's really good, amazing actually." Dana said, smiling at Tia. "You two are really good at drawing, so I'm guessing you're both in the art club?"
Tia nodded, mouth full of an oversize bite of sandwich. She swallowed. "Yep, I am." Tia and Dana waited for Nathan to answer..

Sophie sat just taking drags of her cigarette. Trying to forget about Lacey , her best friend who had given her the lighter right before she passed away. But sitting their Sophie thought about Lacey and how pissed she would be at Sophie for moping about a lighter. Looking up she heard the boys talking about some girl Leigh . Thinking back the girl was in her first two period. Standing up she saw J.D shove Derek playfully.
" You guys are just like brothers, you know that? So this girl Leigh, is she gonna be ok with me being here, in your turf, or is gonna get royally pissed?" Asked Sophie finally speaking.

"Oh, don't worry," she replied, "I am. And you know what else? I'm not allowed to wear pink except on Fridays or whatever, and I can only put my hair up once a week." She nodded her head slowly, in mock seriousness.

"You guys are just like brothers, you know that?"
Sophie's voice cut through the boys' playful yet rather rough fighting, reminding them that she was still there.
Looking over at her, J.D. saw that she had now stood, and seemed to have regained her composure. Though she still seemed a bit sullen about the lighter.
"So this girl Leigh," she continued, before either of them had a chance to comment on her observation. "Is she gonna be ok with me being here, in your turf, or is she gonna get royally pissed?"
J.D. shot Derek an amused look. Both of them knew what Leigh was like, and what to expect from her, should she show up there any time soon. While "pissed" wasn't perhaps the best word to describe it, she would almost see it as an invasion of her personal space. Few set foot in this little corner of the school grounds without being invited.
And no one ever was.
But at the same time, they also knew she wasn't always as tough as she appeared to be. She had simply been forced to build up a front, to protect herself. And she held onto that front through thick and thin.
"Depends on her mood", J.D. said finally.
It wasn't a lie, but it wasn't the most most elaborate answer either. After all, he didn't want to warn Sophie, simply because... Well... What would be the fun in that?
"Doesn't it, Derek?", he added, giving his buddy a slight nudge with his elbow, a suppressed smile playing at the corner of his mouth.

"Depends on her mood", J.D. said finally.
Derek let an evil grin make its way to his lips. Oh yes, it did depend on her mood. If she was pissed, she'd yell at Sophie. If she was angry, she'd shove her, and if she was annoyed (which would be the "best" scenario for the new meat) she would tell him and J.D. to get her off of her territory.
"Doesn't it, Derek?", J.D. added, giving his buddy a slight nudge with his elbow, a suppressed smile playing at the corner of his mouth.
"Yeah, depends on her mood alright."
He kind of liked Sophie (without admitting it to himself), but that didn't mean he wasn't allowed to have a little fun. And watching Leigh shove people around was one of his favorite pastimes.
He took another cigarette from J.D.'s pack which he still held in his hand. They made him feel dizzy, since he hadn't eaten anything since he had awoken, but he didn't care.
"Weird Leigh didn't show up yet. Must mean she's up to something" he said, grinning even more.

((Leigh is wonderful. xD Like a female version of J.D. So fiesty. Poor Lila's got to find her backbone... she's starting to be too much of a pansy! *punches her*))
Lila felt much like a bug under a microscope. It was as if Leigh was boring right through her, assessing everything from the strength of her punch to her shoe size. She waited for her to shake her hand, but it seemed that she had no intention of returning the friendly gesture. Not that it surprised her much. Letting her hand fall, she planted her feet firmly in the ground, imagining aligning her spine into an erect pillar. She wouldn't back down, regardless of how intimidating Leigh could be. Even though she wasn't exactly a fierce fighting machine herself, Lila certainly was no pushover. In most cases, at least.
"Well, well, well...you've been paying attention."
Lila shook her head and dropped her shoulders, relaxing slightly. Interacting with someone more like J.D. had her adrenaline pumping, shaking off the aloofness that had been hovering over her all morning.
"It's common courtesy to learn someone's name when they're introduced to you. You told me your name once, I thought it polite not to disregard it."
It had only been a short moment of feeling more like her usual self, but the challenge of merely speaking with Leigh was enough to get her feeling more audacious.
"So...'He who', huh? Are you insulting me by saying I wasn't clear enough? Or are you insulting him by having forgotten him already? Or are you insulting your own intelligence by pretending you don't know exactly whom I'm talking about?"
Okay. That knocked her down a peg or two. Lila's brows furrowed, trying to determine how to answer such a question. It was a sort of d*mned if you do, d*mned if you don't sort of situation. She was screwed whichever way she answered. 'Is there a none of the above option?' she mentally cursed, sighing softly.
"I'd say it's more likely the latter of the three. You were intentionally vague because you knew I would know exactly who you were referring to, so it's not that you weren't 'clear enough'. Although, we could have avoided all this if you had just said, 'J.D.'" She paused, her face growing harder as she said his name. It was still a sore spot with her. "It's obviously not the second option, because I don't think it's humanly possible to forget him. Even if you want to, he forcibly leaves an impression on you." Lila gritted her teeth, her jaw clenching imperceptibly. "So I suppose I'd have to agree with your final choice. Although, I would chalk it up to more stubborness to admit it on my part than anything else."
Lila sighed deeply and looked up at Leigh with an expression of what could only be deemed frankness.
"And now I'm certain I've bored you to death running through all that." She waived a hand through the air and chuckled softly, brushing a few stray strands of hair from her emerald eyes.
"But I'm not exactly sure I can talk to him. He certainly hasn't acted like he's wanted to talk to me, and he was a bit of jack*ss the other day. Not that I'm free of blame, but still." Her hands came to rest on her hip and she glanced up into Leigh's eyes. "Am I supposed to go crawling up to him like some pathetic lost puppy and beg for his forgiveness? Because if so, there's not a snowball's chance in hell." Her eyes hardened, looking like two glass orbs, and the corner of her lips twitched into a lopsided smile.

LEIGH
"It's common courtesy to learn someone's name when they're introduced to you", Lila said after dropping her unshaken hand. "You told me your name once, I thought it polite not to disregard it."
Another one of Leigh's infamous smirks crawled onto her lips, and it took all her will-power to refrain from asking "And what was your name again?" simply to spite Lila. This was not the time. Brazen as it may be, she had just done something to try and help out a friend.
However, it amused her greatly to see Lila squirm at the question of who exactly it was that she was insulting. For some reason, J.D.'s interest in her had sparked something in Leigh. Not jealousy exactly, since she and J.D. were over and had been for months, but... It was more like a suspicious vigilance. Lila wasn't one of their own, which left Leigh feeling as defensive as anyone would when something unfamiliar intrudes on the familiar.
Lila's answer was a long one, and Leigh had almost stopped listening when she finally concluded;
"So I suppose I'd have to agree with your final choice. Although, I would chalk it up to more stubborness to admit it on my part than anything else."
'Good girl', Leigh thought to herelf, although the smug expression on her face left it pretty much an open book.
A deep sigh slipped through Lila's lips as she looked back at Leigh, her struggle to stay in control of her temper slowly fading as she cooled down. Instead, a look of honesty appeared on her face.
"And now I'm certain I've bored you to death running through all that. But I'm not exactly sure I can talk to him. He certainly hasn't acted like he's wanted to talk to me, and he was a bit of jack*ss the other day. Not that I'm free of blame, but still. Am I supposed to go crawling up to him like some pathetic lost puppy and beg for his forgiveness? Because if so, there's not a snowball's chance in hell.
That last comment made Leigh laugh out loud. Come crawling would be the last thing Lila should do. J.D. would dismiss her so fast it would make her head spin.
"God, no", she said, suddenly seeming almost friendly.
But with her, you could never know. She was a hellcat, and could swing either way within but a few moments.
She looked at Lila again, this time a somewhat open and earnest smile on her face. While it didn't mean Lila had earned her approval, it did mean that for the time being, she didn't consider her an enemy.
"Look," she said. "I don't know what happened between you two, but here's a fact; J.D. likes you. Do you actually think you could piss him off like that and still be breathing if he didn't?"

J.D.
"Weird Leigh didn't show up yet", Derek said after helping himself to yet another cigarette. "Must mean she's up to something."
J.D. grinned slightly. Judging by the mood Leigh had been in the entire morning, she could be tearing up the cafeteria for all they knew.
"I think someone wants to go find her", he said, giving Derek another teasing nudge. "But you know, she's probably just still in the ladies' room, brushing her hair or improving her make up or whatever it is that girls do in there. That stuff takes time, even for her. Trust me, I'm speaking from experience here."
He rolled his eyes, as if to say 'Women!', but ended up grinning once again.
"Alright, I'll be fair," he said, even though neither Derek nor Sophie had protested or even commented. "She's not nearly as bad as other chicks, but she does have her moments of vanity."
Tucking the pack of cigarettes away again, he ran a hand through his tousled hair, and frowned when it sent pain shooting through his shoulder. Then he looked at Derek again.
"So, you wanna go? Or just wait around for Her Majesty to show up?"

"I'm up for leaving," pausing to between the two " That is if you want me to go with you guys, but some how I have a feeling your friend, Leigh, might have a few surprised for me if I come with. And from the brief time I've been with you guys I think you'll probably thoroughly enjoy that."

Alright! Lunch will go on a little longer to let all the people wrap up their lunches and conversations. I've got to get a hold of the P.E. teacher and make sure they have a game plan ready anyway. So bear with me while I make sure we're ready to move on! Thanks for the patience!
((Haha, that's very true. Lila can't charm her way out of trouble with her. xD No eyelash batting here.))
The laugh that burst forth from Leigh certainly caught Lila off guard. It wasn't the sort of evil cackle she had expected, the kind of laugh that tore through you and told you that sometime soon, the person laughing was going to maim you in some horrible, irreversible way. It was a human laugh, and it made Lila relax, if only a little. She couldn't be certain if it was directed at her, but a laugh was certainly better than a sharp stick in the eye.
"God, no," was her response to Lila's question, and it brought a slightly relieved smile to her lips. Groveling was the last thing she could bring herself to do in front of J.D.
"Look," she began again, this time almost seeming cordial, if it weren't for that almost perpetual 'I-could-crush-you-if-need-be' air about her. "I don't know what happened between you two, but here's a fact; J.D. likes you. Do you actually think you could piss him off like that and still be breathing if he didn't?"
Again, Lila's sense of comfort was knocked down a few pegs. She didn't know if she should be confused or flattered; true, she had considered that she was lucky to have survived more than one day with the boy. However, for someone who supposedly would at least put up with her, he certainly acted quite the opposite. Lila shrugged, as if not completely convinced of Leigh's words.
"I thought that maybe it was my gender that allowed me to remain breathing. He's not heartless, so I figured that it was just less likely that he'd maim a girl." She chuckled and suppressed a grin, shifting her bag to her opposite shoulder. The idea of talking to J.D. left her verbally paralyzed. Her pride certainly wouldn't allow her to apologize. And what for? 'I'm sorry I called you by your first name when you were in a pissy mood?' Somehow, that wouldn't come across as a very genuine apology.
"Look. I don't know how I 'pissed him off like that'. He was fine one minute, and then nearly ripped my head off the next. I don't know what you expect me to say to him when he's not very receptive to seeing me, but if I do see him," she paused, her brows knitting together in frustration, "I guess I'll be forced to say something to him. Of all the people in the school, the last person I want hating me is him." She sighed softly and gave a nod, considering the repercussions that could result from J.D. holding a grudge against someone, herself included. But even further than that, the idea of him loathing her was something she ultimately couldn't bear, and if for that reason alone, she would have to sacrifice some part of her pride to try to remedy the situation.
"D*mn. How did things get so blown out of proportion? He's a friggin rollercoaster," she grumbled softly, glaring out a window for a moment.

"Do you have any stories, poems or anyhing thing at all with you. You sound so deep into writting, it must be good," Nathan said.
"Eh, well they're okay," I said, pulling out my writing from my bag. "I've only done a couple pages so far, I've got about two-hundred more to do." I laughed, laying out my writing on the table.
"It's not much, but I think I doing good so far." I quickly took another bite of my salad, then gulped down some more soda.
"Maybe you could show us some or your acting sometime," I said to Nathan, turning to face him and Tia.

"So, you wanna go? Or just wait around for Her Majesty to show up?" J.D. asked.
"No, let's get movin' before I punch Trevor over there. He's been telling the same fuckin' story to everyone behind us" Derek answered, pointing with his thumb above his shoulder one of the gang, Trevor, who indeed was telling a story with big hand gestures.
"I'm up for leaving," said Sophie, pausing to between the two " That is if you want me to go with you guys, but some how I have a feeling your friend, Leigh, might have a few surprised for me if I come with. And from the brief time I've been with you guys I think you'll probably thoroughly enjoy that."
Derek grinned and pushed J.D. gently with his elbow: "She got the whole game didn't she?"
"Come to think of it, I do hope she's in the ladie's room. I feel like scaring poor innocent chicks. Or catch her majesty at a bad moment. Now THAT would be what I call fun!" he continued patting J.D.'s shoulder.
"Shall we, people?"

((Agreed. xD I kind of lost track of them. Lila ran off and Delainee was texting Nemo, so I sort of forgot about Eeric. I'm just not clever enough enough to think of what to have them do. Well, since they'll be going to gym soon, maybe we'll use that to get them up and moving. ))
"Your words have moved me Eeric! You're right! Never again shall I waver fr- Eeee!" with a quick jerk, Delainee was dragged back down by Daniel. Eeric couldn't help but chuckle, a look of amusement alight on his features. She was something else.
"Ah! You know what I could do? I'm going to text Nemz real quick. I don't know if he's got his phone on him, but...AHAH!"
Eeric shook his head and chuckled, watching her frenzily text message Nemo. He finished his food and quickly cleared his place, making sure that he left no trash behind. He was pleased that Delainee Rose had accepted his words so warmly, and he felt a slight relief that he had at least made her smile. Seeing her so upset made him feel truly awful. Glancing at a clock on a wall nearby, he stood and grinned at his new friends.
"Gym's next, ya? I've got to run to my locker to grab a change of clothes. I'd rather not stink up the ones I'll be wearing for the rest of the day. You're welcome to come with, but I don't want to drag you all along. If not, I'll see you all next period!" He saluted them all and turned, glancing over his shoulder to see if anyone was coming.

[Yeay! Long post! Plus, Daniel actually SPEAKS to someone besides Delainee.]
Daniel’s silver eyes swept down his neat assortment of French fries, which had been arranged into nine groups of three with three of the nine neatly covered with a curvy line of ketchup. Not a straight line. Straight lines made him nervous. He picked one of them off, bit it about a quarter of the way down, then picked up another and did the same process with that one. Occasionally he cleared his throat. However, his main obsession seemed to be to glance at his watch. He hated not knowing the time. It worried--no--terrified him not to know the exact minute. He never knew when he might miss something, and he couldn’t be late for anything, ever. He’d been tardy one time, and almost had a mental breakdown.
Delainee was inconspicuously checking her messages while the assistant principal had his back turned, her slender fingers tucking a lock of hair behind her ear was the only signal that she was doing something shady. Daniel could vaguely catch the tones of Nemo’s fluttering voice, but his actual words seemed to him like gibberish. The red-head rubbed his hands together, and smiled over at the others who were drawn into their own conversations. Why had he been so quiet that day? Normally he would be chatting them up, and, by now, would have known every little tick and quirk about the two dark children who had sat with them that day. Something was amiss though. It was probably the abrupt removal of Nemo. Things like that completely confused him, threw off his perfectly organized world. His hands tugged at the corner of his mouth, and he chewed on his thumbnail while staring at Eeric’s shirt with a far-off expression. Not that he had meant to, it just sort of happened. He zoned out all of the time, and preferred to look at dark objects when he did this. It helped him contain that dream-like effect.
He couldn’t wait for art. His frustrations with the world could be completely relieved in an instant with a painting. Today he would do a symbol for the ultimate sorrow of the world: being alone. He would probably use an apple if he did that one. Or maybe he would try and mimic some of Salvador Dali’s work. He’d always loved the elephants he’d painted. There was so much meaning behind them, something he loved to crack open, a mystery more profound than the universe itself--maybe. Suddenly, however, his entire world shook, and was replaced by…stripes? Daniel shook his head and looked up at Eeric as he rose from the table.
“Gym’s next, ya? I‘ve got to run to my locker for a change of clothes. I‘d rather not stink up the ones I’ve got for the rest of the day. You’re welcome to come with, but I don’t want to drag you all along. If not, I’ll see you all next period!” Eeric proceeded to turn then, and kind of gave a subtle glance over his shoulder, as if checking to see if any one else would follow along. Daniel knew what was coming next.
Delainee nodded, snapping her phone shut and furtively slipping it back into her bag, “We need to swing by and pick up Daniel’s too. If I’m not mistaken, Daniel’s locker is pretty close to yours, though, so it’s not like we’ll have to go out of our way. I don’t use my locker,” Delainee stuck out her tongue. “Too much hassle. I’d much rather carry a load of books around all day than fight to get to a crummy, teeny little storage space and be late for class!” Daniel sighed, and nodded, rising.
“Yeah, let’s go,” Daniel grinned, and trudged after Eeric, Delainee skipping after him. Behind him, he could hear Delainee asking the others if they’d like to come along too, but before he knew it she’d jumped clear onto his back and was clinging like a madwoman to his neck. He sighed, and pulled up aside Eeric with Delainee still hanging tight. He’d yet to have conversation with really anyone besides Delainee that day, so he thought he might as well say something.
“So, Eeric. You don’t really seem like a gothic kid, not to like…try and smash every kid that likes black together into one personality or anything. But…I don’t know. It’s not that I think you have to be brooding to be gothic, it’s just…” he laughed a little, “you’re kind of silly, for lack of a better word.” He grinned at Eeric, hoping he didn’t feel insulted.

"So you like having fun at other people's expense Derek?" raising an eyebrow questionably. Without waiting for an answer she continued.
"Well, I guess we'll just have to wait and see whats up with Leigh."
Picking up her bag she pulled it onto her shoulder looking up at Derek and J.D seeing which of them would lead the way since she had no idea where they where going.

"I think I'll pass on the makeup and dreads. My dad would kill me!" Maria laughed.
Luce smiled as she imagined Maria dolled up, her head tilting slightly to one side as she watched her. Somehow it just wouldn’t suit her personality, she’d be drowned underneath the strong statement. Still the image amused her.
As Maria mentioned hot eye candy Luce’s eye strayed to Eric as he got up and left the cafeteria. Luce shook her head. “Darlin’ that’s not going to happen around here. See how the girls flock around the cute one’s like fly’s to s***. Besides Eric’s like a candy bar, if you lick it you’ll be filled with sweetness but eat too much and it will make you sick.” She pulled a face crinkling her nose like there was an awful smell. “No, I like my toys to have a little attitude. Y’know when you can’t quite tell if they want to kill you or F*** you.”
She laughed, leaning back in her chair. The remaining bread part of the salad sandwich discarded, she had picked off all the bits she wanted. “But if you get a date, we’ll have to drop the bets too. I’m sure there’s some nice sweetie around here who’d be just perfect for you.” She surveyed the room, eyes stopping briefly on every boy and that was dangerous. Luce wasn’t known for her tact unless she was playing cat and mouse or some other mindgame to screw up a boy’s head. “No, No, No” She dismissed them all as she examined them like puppies at the pet store. Trying to work out what Maria’s taste would be. She’d probably want someone kind who made her laugh, and she’d need a guy who could bait her out of her shyness.

Luce was right. Most of the cute guys who were worth any attention had a flock of girls around them. Not that it mattered really. Even if Maria was sitting at the same table, most of the guys wouldn't even know she existed. Eeric seemed to be the exception, who somehow noticed her gaze even in the crowded cafeteria. It would figure that the one guy to notice her, didn't exactly seem her "type". Maria bit her lip a little as that thought crossed her mind. What was her type anyway?
"At least you know your type. I've never even had a boyfriend, so it's kind of hard to tell what I'd want in one. I am oddly attracted to the dangerous types though too, but somehow I don't quite think I'd mesh with such a guy in real life." Maria shrugged again.
"Lunch is almost over I think, and I should probably start getting ready for P.E. Thanks a lot for letting me sit with you Luce...and for inviting me to tag along to the Ball if you're able to go and we both remain dateless." Maria ended her words with a smile, standing from her seat and gathering her leftover sandwich to throw into the trash.

"I thought that maybe it was my gender that allowed me to remain breathing", Lila said. "He's not heartless, so I figured that it was just less likely that he'd maim a girl."
A vaguely acidic smile darted across Leigh's lips. Not heartless, eh? If that was what Lila had said to J.D., she could fully understand why J.D. had been so ticked off.
Though Lila didn't seem to catch Leigh's smile, but instead continued:
"Look. I don't know how I 'pissed him off like that'. He was fine one minute, and then nearly ripped my head off the next. I don't know what you expect me to say to him when he's not very receptive to seeing me, but if I do see him, I guess I'll be forced to say something to him. Of all the people in the school, the last person I want hating me is him.
Another equally venomous smile darted across Leigh's lips. The last person Lila wanted hating her? Now why was that? What was her interest in J.D.? Was she simply scared of him, like most of the other students, or did she actually care about him? Judging by the way she spoke of him, she didn't really seem to have any hidden motives to try and befriend J.D.. If she did, she would've been sucking up to him by now.
Though to be honest, Leigh didn't know if she liked one alternative better than the other.
Beside her Lila sighed and nodded, as if she was thinking about what she had just said, and confirmed that it was indeed what she had meant.
"D*mn", she then muttered, looking out the window. "How did things get so blown out of proportion? He's a friggin rollercoaster."
Leigh tilted her head a bit to the side, looking at Lila with both amusement and surprise. Did she really not see it? J.D. wasn't a very complicated person (at least not to her). You just had to know how to handle him.
"Uh-huh", she said with dry sarcasm. "And tell me, whenever his mood changed, you wouldn't happen to have said something along the lines of him not being heartless, would you?"
Seeing the expression on Lila's face, Leigh didn't even need to hear her answer.
"Jesus!", she exclaimed, resisting the urge to flick Lila's forehead just to show her how stupid she thought she was for saying such a thing. "What are you, blind? You might just as well wave a red flag in front of a bull!"

((Alright. Girl hasn't gotten back to me yet, so if I don't hear from her by around 1 p.m. my time (EST? xD ) I'll just make the gym teacher an NPC and we'll kick it off. When do you all want the Halloween Ball to be? I wanted to give it some time so you all could meet and interact with a lot of people so that you wouldn't show up to the ball without knowing anyone, but it's your choice. We could say that the ball is after school 'tomorrow' (the next school day) or wait another 'day' in their time. Just keep in mind that a school day in our characters' time is far longer IRL. xD ))
"Uh-huh. And tell me, whenever his mood changed, you wouldn't happen to have said something along the lines of him not being heartless, would you?"
Lila blinked confusedly. She considered Leigh's question, turning it over in her mind. Yes, she had perhaps pushed him a little too far. But what was so bad about telling someone that they weren't a monster? That within their chest beat a normal, human heart, which carried normal, human emotion? She couldn't understand how that could be taken offensively. The flustered expression on her face must have given her away, for in a moment, Leigh nearly shouted at her.
"Jesus! What are you, blind? You might just as well wave a red flag in front of a bull!"
Lila wrinkled her nose and tilted her head slightly to the side, looking somewhat akin to a curious baby bird. Apparently, J.D. and the inner workings of his mind were even more of an enigma to her than she had initially realized.
"Well, I suppose I am then!" she exclaimed, letting out a groan of child-like frustration. "I didn't realize that telling him he wasn't the spawn of satan could be so unnerving. If he's so bad*ss, then the things a little girl like me says to him shouldn't bother him so greatly. Especially if they're not even insults...unless unintended compliments are insults. It obviously wasn't my intention to make him mad at me. Things just got out of hand too quickly for no reason, and I was too stubborn to apologize. I'll just refrain from saying anything mildly positive from now on." She shrugged and brushed a finger across her chin.
"You seem to know far more about how to deal with him. Why don't you just talk to him instead?" Lila smiled softly at her, half-wishing that Leigh would just have the chat instead of her. The idea of talking to J.D. right now terrified her. As if a signal, a bad omen or maybe a good one, the bell went off shrilly, alerting the students that it was time for their next period in a short time.
"Gym." Lila groaned, a near-snarl curling across her lips. "Just perfect." She looked to Leigh and quirked a brow. "You coming? Won't make a difference to me. I've already skipped enough classes in my few days of knowing J.D.; I can hardly afford to miss any more, as much as I hate gym."

That comment made both J.D. and Derek grin, and Derek gave J.D. a nudge with his elbow.

He looked at J.D. and Sophie, asking;

In response, Sophie raised an eyebrow.
"So you like having fun at other people's expense, Derek?" she said, but didn't give either of the boys a chance to reply. "Well, I guess we'll just have to wait and see whats up with Leigh."
And with that she picked up her bag, hoisting it over her shoulder and looking at the two boys, as if indicating she was ready to follow, despite the prospect of possibly making an enemy in Leigh, should they manage to find her.
"Okay then", J.D. smirked, starting towards the main entrance. "It's your funeral".
Not that he really expected Leigh to tear Sophie apart, because she wasn't quite that aggressive. But you could never be too sure. She had a tendency to surprise even her friends, as proven just this morning in English class.
Ascending the few stone steps, the trio walked into the entrance hall, and started looking around for any signs of Leigh.
