ui/caption/...... replacing in-game text---help?

Hi,

I'm hoping I'm in the right place.

I use s3oc and s3pe a lot (newest versions always). Recently, I have had my in-game text replaced with ui/caption/...... everywhere.

Have I perhaps done something wrong in one of my creations?

Any ideas on how I fix it would be greatly appreciated.

I believe that happens when you don't have the box checked for rename/renumber internal file names for creations.

Now, seeing as I have no idea what you're talking about :rofl: , I have to ask...do I use the Postal Package Editor for that?

It's the "fix" option in the Cloner.

Okay, my packages show the rename/renumber checked off. I'm so confused. I wonder if I should delete all of my creations from the game, then check them in the game one by one. I'm thinking I'll probably have to do that anyway, so I'll start.

Yep that box should be checked. Also make sure to make the name you type in the box is unique for each object you create. And your right, you will need to sort out which one is causing it.

I would use the 50/50 method for finding bad cc. Just pull half of your creations out, if it works fine then pull that half out and put the other half in. Keep doing this till you find the one.

Similler, are you sure you have the latest version of s3oc? The tool now has a trick that stops game strings being overridden even if yuo don't remember to check "Renumber". Also bear in mind that many of the tutorials are talking about an older version and their instructions are no longer appropriate.

In s3oc Cloner there is a Help menu and you can find full instructions on how to use it there.

Yes, Inge, (my real name is Inga) I do have the latest version. My only thought on that would be I probably started having this issue before I installed it.

I've been playing around with creating patterns for so long now I can't remember what's what anymore :-)

I think I also got this problem..
FYI, I'm using sims 3 high end loft stuff..
But the text just appear like Ingi.. :)

It's only about **** UI/caption/ originally from sims 3 base
I don't have both of s3oc & s3pe installed before
Could somebody help me?
