I have the October 10th version of S3PE, and it is somehow failing to find and execute ViewDDS. I'm not sure if it makes any difference or not, but I have it installed in a non-default directory, in the folder where I keep all of my TS3 creation tools segregated from the mess that is my Program Files directory.

I've searched and searched and it appears I am the only one having this issue with the latest S3PE and I'm clueless about how to fix it, other than possibly installing to the default folder and I really, really don't want to have to do that.

Do you have dds.exe and viewdds.exe in the s3pe install path? uninstall and reinstall? or it didn't help?

if it doesn't get extracted by s3pe properly, you can download and dump it in there yourself. or if you had installed it somewhere before, can also drag and drop the 3 files used by viewdds.exe into your s3pe path

Also, can check the helpers.txt is not commented for the DDS section (no ";")

=====================
// DDS files
dds.ResourceType: 0x00B2D882 0x8FFB80F6
dds.Helper1Label: View
dds.Helper1Command: ViewDDS.exe
dds.Helper1ReadOnly: yes
; ViewDDS can process data from the clipboard in the format used by s3pe:
dds.Helper1Arguments: /clipboard
;dds.Helper2Label: GIMP
;dds.Helper2Command: C:\Program Files\GIMP-2.0\bin\gimp-2.6.exe
;dds.Helper2Arguments: "{}"

Thank you so much for answering! I had posted this over at CS3 as well and Inge came along and got me nudged into the right direction, so it's all fixed up now. I was just on my way to post here when I got side-tracked by the HUGE tutorial for meshing you just posted! :lol:

For reasons unknown to me (mainly because I can't remember how I went about installing last night), the executable for the ViewDDS was in the wrong place. :P

Latest self-install should include ViewDDS now. The auto-install should "just work".
