Patterns Only Removing Themselves Sortof.

Quick question about CC. I have three patterns that when installed have a little purple asterisks next them unlike all my other CC patterns. As it turned out, I didn't really like them, so I went to "installed content" on the launcher and told it to uninstall them. Which it did. Sort of. When I launched the game again they were gone, BUT where they had been there were now blacked out non-existant patters with a little green plumbob instead. AND I can't figure out how to get rid of these little black lack-of-patterns because according to the game and the launcher they aren't actually installed. SO!

1. What does the little purple asterisk mean next to CC, besides that it will never ever uninstall ever?

2. How do get rid of these things in some kind of complete way? I know its only three little patterns, but its driving me crazy. Because I am neurotic in that way.

OH! and I tried deleting all the cache files,... but that didn't really have any effect.

Any objects that have catalog thumbnails need the thumbnails files regenerated when you remove CC.

Are they CAP-created patterns?

And no, they aren't create-a-pattern, they were just regular old patterns I downloaded.

Thats the thing though - I did all that already (deleted the thumbnails with dashboard), and yet the weird black thumbnails are still there :( I mean the thumbnails themselves with the actual pictures are gone, but in their place are the blacked out ones with different icons.

Can you post screenshots so we can see what you are having an issue with?

If I could figure out how to get it to take a picture of the patterns or the create-a-style thing, I would be happy to, unfortunately, I don't know how to make it do that.

Essentially, like if you were click on something, anything, with the little pallet thing... to change the style, and your patterns menu comes up on the side, where all the patterns live, except under "fabrics" there are three patterns that are just black. Totally not there. But there is still a thumbnail there where the patterns used to be before I uninstalled them. Obviously if I click on the only semi-existant pattern nothing happens, because there is no pattern lol. BUT its dark and foreboding thumbnail still lives on. And I don't know how to get rid of them.

Does this weird glitch happens in all your save files and a new game?

You've done the remove all content, start new game with new user files, to rule out CC-conflict bit? Maybe the cause were not those patterns but something else that is conflicting with it. Or it may be the save game is toast?

What OS are you on? I believe Win7 has a utility to capture parts of the screen call "snipping", or there are various utilities out there that does screencapture. You can then attach the image into your post by clicking "Go Advanced" and then "Manage Attachments" buttons.
