I'm trying to figure out how to modify Track Masks :here: (TkMk) files. The reason they are important is without knowing how to change what track masks are applied we are at the mercy of the Maxis animations. We can alter only what they have not masked. Well, actually you can animate anything you want but the masked parts will not visually be effected, which is kinda important with animations.
What I know: :heyhey:
TkMk files 'mask' off certain parts of any given animation. They are located in the JAZZ package along with the JAZZ files.
What I don't know: :help:
What connects them to a specific animation? I can find no referance within the JAZZ files. Some how either the animation itself or the Jazz file has to know what masks to use, unless this is kept with in the TkMk file itself and the engine checks every TkMk file when it plays an animation.....which would be weird. Currently there seems to be no way to edit TkMk files, so the only option would be to get the animation to ignore certain ones.....but I don't know how to do that so much.
I'll update this thread as I stumble around in the dark horrid underbelly of TkMk purgatory.
