I've been working on this lot for several weeks and have the feeling that it's not quite right. I love the shape of the house and the flow of the rooms, it's just the outside that gets to me. It just reminds me of a country store or a school house. I have updated recently and will include pictures. I will also include pictures of before the update, as I am not sure which version I like better. Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks everyone! :)

I like this idea :) But the tower is overused and are unessaccery extra costs. If you have Generations you could make a spiral stair leading to the first floor and maybe only have one extra story as tower. Also, the roof around and on the tower looks very odd, it seems like you've used autoroof, even if creators can see you didn't. What I mean is, the roofs at the lowest story of tower aren't connected. What also would be an option is to lower the half-gabled roof, since it's pretty high and slo looks odd.

Is this lot located in Sunset Valley or some EA world? I should probably recognize it, but I don't since I haven't done much actual playing lately (except for play testing lots).
Only asking since I noticed it's on a lot that doesn't have completely flat edges.

It's Sunset Valley, right next to the beach community lot. :) I placed it there using World Editor.

Ok, here's what I came up with. I got rid of all but the bottom tower and the half gable roofs. I loved my cute little room above the laundry, but you (and several others :p ) were right that they looked awkward. So, I used the space between the master and the Single and turned it into a half nursery. I also used the space over the bathroom and turned it into a dressing area. I also got rid of quite a few window's on the top floor.
I have this game saved in three different versions (Plain, Update One, Update 2), this is the second update. So, if anyone feels I should maybe change something in an earlier stage instead, it is still quite possible. :) Thanks for the help and keep it coming! :P

It might be a little more accurate to try the half gable on the lowest roofs with the pitch decreased quite a bit down. You could try it and see what you think. Very interesting lot!

Ok, I tried the half gable on the bottom and this is how it turned out. I think it looks a little better. :)

Maybe a low pitched gable roof on the sides of the house would look better. Mediterranean styled roof? Also the half gabled roof at the front is in the wrong sirection, or was it planned like that?

I don't know why, but it never occurred to me to face the gable roof in the other direction. :P I'll fool around with it a bit and get back with some screenshots. Again, thanks for all the help! :)

You could make the exterior look kinda like this .

That's a great idea. Make a balcony on the high windows at the front and back. When it comes to the roof on the side ... well I don't have an english game, but the roof should not fall down by the tower. You can have the falling down by the end, but then you use the roof with a sharp angle, starting so it meets seamlessly with the falling roof angle on the other side. That way you will have 2 roofs on each side, but it won't be visible. Is this understandable?
Or you can have the sharp roof angle at the end to, as in Ouerbacker's picture.

So sorry everyone! I swear I have not forgotten about this. My mom was in the hospital for a while and I stayed with her pretty much 24/7. But we're back home and she's fine, and I can continue working on this. :) I think I might try the balcony idea. Be back soon!

I really like this idea, and if you keep working at it it can come out as a really good house.
One critique I had was that it seems like you have way too much going on with the windows - I understand it's a beach house and therefore it's supposed to let in a lot of light, but I think you can still pull of the same effect with less windows. I would suggest playing around with two- and three-tile versions of the ones you have on there already and see what you could come up with.
Another thing, the half-gable roof above the entrance-way looks odd like that - I would suggest making that a balcony, or flipping the roof direction the other way. :)
