This isn't exactly a challenge, since the goal is mostly to watch and find out what happens. It was inspired by the Dilute the Ugly Gene challenge/experiment. Some people had disappointingly quick "positive" results, so I wondered what Sims genetics would do with only ugly people.
Evict everyone in town and delete them from the clipboard. Populate your now-empty town with families full of ugly people. (My definition of ugly is having all the traits of a Sim near either extreme on the slider, but there are some Sims at each extreme for every trait. I also used ugly hair colors. I used a variety of skin colors (realistic and not), but mostly stayed away from medium tones.) Turn on story progression and set the lifespan to short. Switch between many households, building skills and working on careers, but not establishing relationships. Let story progression handle all the hooking up and reproducing.
I suspect normal traits will occasionally enter the gene pool and the town will slowly get a bit less ugly. I'm not really sure, though.
I have filled a few houses, and now I'd like advice. How many Sims will I need to fill positions like co-workers and bosses? Do I have to leave a certain number of adult Sims unplayed to fill roles like this? Are there things I need to avoid to keep the game from spawning normal Sims?
The other way I thought of to let the game do all the story progression is to play one normal household as a legacy, marrying NPCs or foreigners or inserting newly created Sims directly into a household, and not letting anyone move out. If need be, I could have only unemployed and self-employed Sims.
Also, what's the best way to get pictures of my Sims if I didn't do it in CAS? Am I stuck trying to get screenshots of everybody in-game?
