Hey!
So, I downloaded the base game via Steam, and everything worked fine. Then I downloaded World Adventures, and after an adventure to Egypt, I moved my family to a new house, and as I was placing stainless steel appliances, I noticed that the shiny metallic texture was matte and seemingly the color of the appliance without the texture.
I Googled the problem and came up with a thread that I am having a really hard time understanding. I can understand how to fix this stuff if the steps are clear, but I'm just not getting it. Plus, it didn't look like there was a solution anyway.
Then I got the High End Loft stuff pack, and then Late Night. The metallic texture was still buggy, but everything else seemed to work
Then I started a new legacy in Sunset Valley, and my sim spontaneously made two friends, including a vampire who instantly became super best friends with my sim. Then my sim was accepted into a group...all while my sim was on her lot. I'm not sure how that's happening.
So, to solve these issues, I followed the suggestions from the FAQ. I took out my mod folder and restarted, but there was no change. Then I tried deleting cache files but I couldn't find any cache files to delete...the available cache folders were empty. Then I tried to change the user file to say Sims 3 Backup, but it wouldn't let me do that.
So...now I'm wondering what in the heck to do.
Here is a super long list of my specs if that helps.

Thank you so much for your time. I'm sorry if the information I'm presenting isn't enough...I'm just really confused.
Any help or direction would be really appreciated.
