The graphics card I have at the moment is an ATI Radeon X1050 and although it has been running the game fine until i installed pets, I am now getting problems with how the dogs and cats are being shown.

The pets with long hair have transparent fur and the short haired animals are covere in loads of tiny black specks. They all seem to suffer from the dreaded "boggle eyes" too!

I have updated the drivers, deleted the cache files and turned on advanced rendering but nothing works. From what I can work out (bearing my mind I know F-all about computers) the problem seems to be the graphics card.

I have uploaded some pics to show the problems I am having.

Does anyone know if the Radeon HD 5670 would work any better? Here is a link to the one I am considering buying:

The 5670 should be ok.

However I'd recommend the 6670 instead. It's got more cores (480 on the 6670 vs 400 on the 5670) and the GPU is clocked faster (800Mhz vs 775Mhz). The one you linked uses GDDR5, which is good but might be a little too fast for the GPU on the board. The 6670 also uses GDDR5 and is more likely to use it to it's full potential.

Not only that, the 6670 is a current-gen card while the 5670 is last-gen... the 6670 is also only about £10 more. If you want to go for the 5670, then it will be a vast improvement over your X1050, but I'd consider paying the extra £10 for the 6670. Make sure your power supply can provide the needed power to the GFX card, and also make sure you have a PCI-E connector on your motherboard. I think the stickes here should be able to assist with that. :)

Thanks for your help KhaineGB. I would get the 6670 if I could but the other half is already moaning enough about me getting the 5670 so I don't want to annoy him even more. I have checked my power supply and it is capable of running it and I do have a PCI-E connector :) Thanks again for your help.

Just point out it's £10 more and should be a MAJOR difference to your computer... and hopefully you won't need a new one for quite a while. ;)

My other half is complaining because I want the 6970... but then that is a £300-ish card... so yeah... >_>
