View Full Version : Unable to Share World

I have been trying, for upwards of 6 months now to share my beta for testing and feedback. Back in May, I had all EPs except Generations. The file would inform downloaders to update their game so it was assumed that it had something to do with me not having Generations and those who were attempting to test did have it.

Now, I have Pets and Generations and have used items from both throughout the world. My downloaders still cannot install the file. When checking with Custard, it leaves 3 store content items in it that cannot be removed. If you do try to remove them, it breaks the file. It also lists version 1.13 as the minimum version needed even though it should be 1.26 because I DO have Pets items in the world.

I uninstalled every sims3pack I had except for those needed/used in the world and the file still looks exactly the same. I am puzzled as is armiel who has been helping me in #create to try to fix this problem. Below is the screenshot I get from Custard. Also, here (http://www.mediafire.com/?40r6apj133cvunl) is the link for the file. Hopefully I can get this resolved. Or at least know it is beyond repair. :p

My games are all patched to the latest versions.

To add to the above, my games are patched to BG 1.26.89, WA 2.17.2, Amb 4.10.1, LN 6.5.1, Gen 8.0.152, Pets 10.0.96, and to my understanding, these are the patch levels heaven's games are patched too. When trying to install the world, launcher claims I need to update my game, which is kinda hard cause am patched to the latest already. This happened with the earlier beta of this same world earlier this year, before we had generations installed.

Heaven, remove your DCBackup folder and re-export the game. Any CC/ store stuff that is used in the game will only be packaged in the Sims3Pack file if the DCBackup folder has the corresponding package in it.

If you remove the DCBackup, your world file will be clean and users should be able to install it.

The file requires the original Riverview. Won't removing the DCBackup also remove that?

Nope, your installed CC is stored in the DCCache. The objects will still be in your world, and people will still need to have Riverview in their game to use your world.

With the DCBackup folder intact though, the game will attempt to package Riverview/ Riverview objects in the world file (as evidenced by CUSTARD), whereas you don't need that to happen (since people can download Riverview for themselves).

Zaide_Chris had Riverview items packaging with his world in post #71 of this thread:

Solved by removing the DCBackup when exporting.

The gameversion error is a common one when store CC is packaged with the world.

Oh! Thank you for the clarification! I shall attempt to do this immediately and hopefully that will fix everything. Thanks for the quick responses as well!

EDIT: It's fixed. /me bows to simsample. Or hands a cookie. Whichever you prefer.
