View Full Version : Making cribs infant or toddler only

I've got a crib that fits perfectly for infants as it is now, but the toddlers end up halfway through the frame.

As it says, I'm wondering how to make a crib only usable for infants or toddlers (so that the other age won't show up in the pie menu).

Alternatively, I'm wondering if it's possible to move the "sleeping slot" for toddlers only, so that the infants stays in the same place. That would be the best option so that both can use it, but I've got a feeling there are a whole lot of things to learn there.

I don't even know where to start, as I don't know which resources controls this. I'm quite new to advanced modding, but I'm somewhat familiar with resources having to do with textures and meshes (shpe, gmnd, gmdc, txmt and so on). I'm quite noobish on BHAVs and slots and such - but I do want to learn.

Thanks for any help :)

Simply disabling the object for toddlers would be easier. Lucky for you, there's a thread on this subject: Make crib usable by infants only... (http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=311232). :) HP's finished product is her Moses Basket With Stand (http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=311395).

Since I assume the "sleeping slot" is the same slot for both toddlers and infants, the relatively harder way would be to add a new "sleeping slot" for toddlers. Then you would need to adjust the interaction so that parent only place the young Sims in the age-appropriate sleeping slots:

"If I'm holding an infant, snap it into the infant slot...
If I'm holding a toddler, snap it into the toddler slot..."

Thanks for the quick answer :)

Looks a bit complicated, and I'm a little bit unsure where to find that CribGlobals. But if I do figure it out, it will come in handy.

Follow the same method as described in Tutorial: Making Your First Custom BHAV (http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=142907). Only choose CribGobals instead of PaintingGlobals and, of course, the CribGobals-related things mentioned in the thread I linked to earlier. :)
