Patch 1.31....?

I am trying to update my game to the latest patch and have been at it for a few hours - I'm getting really frustrated because whenever I try to update the game no matter how many offline patches I've downloaded an error pops up at the end saying that there was invalid file found or something around like that. I did some research on google and I found that I have to completely uninstall my Sims 3 game if no other tricks are working. I have my CC folders backed up and everything.

Could I just reinstall the Sims 3 base game or do I have to install every expansion/stuff pack? I have all the games except for Master Suite and Showtime.

Make sure Origin is up to date. If that doesn't work try these suggestions
