View Full Version : Showtime: Sim stuck on stage while performing show?

I've been having a BIG problem with the Singer profession on Showtime lately.

I think it was after my sim got to level 6 in the career (after she got the stage lights in her inventory) that I began having problems performing gigs.

It started at the Rodeo karaoke bar where I had a gig set up. I set up the stage as usual but when my sim got on stage to sing she just held the mic to her mouth and twitched. I tried the "Perform song" and "Talk to audience" commands and nothing changed. There was just a "Perform show" command that I couldn't exit.

And this wouldn't stop. I let this go on until the end of her performance, and the command "Finish Show" appeared, but nothing different happened. The crowd even stayed and they were cheering the entire time.

So I couldn't exit out of either commands and I'm sure she would have continued forever. So I used resetsim and she was safe at her house, but the gig hadn't been completed.

I have tried to do the gig again and the same thing happens, except she just stands on stage instead of doing that weird twitching thing. And I've tried going to another gig (this one at the park) and it still doesn't work. All while this is going on my "Open Work Hours" is red and it claims I have gigs I need to finish.

I've removed all mods and cleared my cache, still nothing.

So, uh, any ideas? Anyone else having this problem? Because I really have no idea.

Sims 3 - Game Problems
Please go through this FAQ and follow the instructions, doing each step in order and not skipping anything:

Game Help:Sims 3 Game Problem
Most issues with the game can be resolved by following those steps.

You didn't do the 3rd step?
If you have CC, you've troubleshoot if this is a cache issue, CC issue, so that's good. But not if it is a Save, Library, Export folders (etc) issue; or problem file in Program Files issue (borked install process or patch). Doing the above would tell us what's what. So post back with status of what happens when you do the 3rd step.

Are you on 1.31 or 1.32 at this point?

Hi! I had the same problem earlier today. Whenever something like that happens, I usually always do the same thing to fix it. I go into edit town, save a copy of my family to the library, move them out of the house, and then put the copy that I saved to my library back into the house. Just so you know, this does remove all of the relationships they have with other sims that aren't in the household, cancel current actions, and saved wishes. It also deletes all of the gigs in your gig schedule. :/
But it's a lot better than having to start from scratch!! Hope this helps. :)

Ok I just went through the same things so if anyone is having the problem reset your sim and it will take you back to your house and all you things on stage will be in your inventory :D

Try switching her in her career outfit before going on stage and if that works, give her a second outfit for good. That might solve the issue (although they usually reset by themselves if it's the career outfit. It's worth a try though)
